  1. These YMCA teams like Mary are nice and all that. But that's it.
  2. I assume the reference to Underwood being a candidate for this job was nothing more than that. He's an unbridled meathead of a coach.
  3. Good team, nothing more. Not the Gonzaga teams we've seen in the past but nothing to be ashamed of. Houston owned the game. Went to sleep late but that happens.
  4. Gonzaga was marginal this season. Above and beyond effort tonight, good for it. But just a softer version of what BYU is now. Houston suffocated BYU last weekend. No surprise it's doing the same to Gonzaga. Varsity v JV
  5. Holy smokes. https://www.kxan.com/news/neighbors-concerned-about-smoke-from-austin-crematorium-business-says-it-fixed-violations/
  6. The depth of Florida is crazy. Four big guys that can all play. And play really well. It's too bad the team has no guards.....
  7. Vintage Harlan right now. He's so damn good.
  8. In its last game and a half St Mary's is 2 for 33 from the arc. Not a misprint. They and that conference blow.
  9. BYU is playing really well now. Won 10 of 11 with that one being a strangulation by Houston last Saturday. Houston will do the same to Gonzaga. Just a softer version of BYU.
  10. McCasland is an outstanding coach and Texas basketball would give its left nut to land him. Del Conte should still know the address of the Plainview McDonald's, I'm guessing.
  11. Great follow. That unbridled fat-ass, golf tournament-cheating embarrassment continues to be an unbridled fat ass, golf-tournament-cheating embarrassment. Jim Spanarkel has forgotten more about basketball than Ketchum has in his dreams. Prayers like that shot are a tough get on the defensive board, as Sparnakel accurately pointed out. Probably should have had a block out? Probably. But Ketchum would never know as such. He's the sparest of spares. I'm so glad Terry is done. He's been a model of mediocrity and Texas deserves better. Much. Give credit to Texas for playing its ass off over the last 4 games. But you need to do better than sporadic shows of energy, cohesion and teamwork and that's why this dumb experiment by Del Conte is thankfully over.
  12. Not a big stretch. Brown will tell you the same thing and it's the reason Sally's toilet papered Marcel Derious' house every year on January 7.
  13. The carnage from this continues to amaze. I hadn't see these pics.
  14. Thankfully that unbridled weirdo Gus Johnson will be nowhere near a mic, again, for the Tournament. He's become a beating. Overall, CBS / Turner have quality personnel working the telecasts. I think Harlan is the best in the business on pxp but he can get a little sideways, for the good. But the suits prefer Eagle for the final Saturday / Monday. He's quality. Grant Hill continues to provide nothing to broadcasts. Brian Anderson is especially good on pxp.
  15. Yale and the Tournament will always merit the requisite Taurean Prince contribution.
  16. 5/12 all around. Penny Hardaway is a mediocre coach. Colorado State playing well. Clemson isn't all that. McNeese will be a tough out.
  17. The given that is a 5 / 12 upset. Michigan continues to be overrated. UC San Diego.
  18. That fraud Shaka Smart in March? How many points from New Mexico am I getting?
  19. The 37-acre homeless camp monstrosity at Montopois and Ben White is getting (compassionately) shut down by the city because it's a "high wildfire issue". It's been a chamber of commerce landmark for awhile now so who knows what will really become of it. At some point voters should decide whether public camping is allowed in the city. Unlikely to happen but who knows. https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/austin-homeless-camp-closed-wildfire-risk/269-5c0032b5-0797-4c35-973e-d4f2a002bff7
  20. Offenses that are solely perimeter-oriented don't last throughout. I absolutely love Houston but they don't have much offensive presence inside. You need to be able to score from 5 feet in when scoring from 22 feet out isn't working. That's my concern. All that said Houston's defense will keep it / win most every game. It playing in San Antonio is more likely than not.
  21. Chalk is Duke and Florida. The latter is the best team in the country right now. Outstanding trio of guards, any of which can take a game over, height, depth and a defensive presence that was non-existent last season. Walter Clayton is the best player in college basketball right now. Most of you have never heard of him. You will soon.
