  1. Gotta get at least one across here.
  2. Come on, get this now.
  3. Dunning did his part. Wasn't completely on his game but worked out of a couple of jams to stop any further damage. Solid effort, again, by a starter.
  4. Okay, capitalize.
  5. Third time thru the order this season Waldachuck has been battered. Don't fucking help him out by swinging at balls around your ankles.
  6. Really nice AB for Semien.
  7. 4-6-3, much needed for Dunning.
  8. It's a mausoleum there with 3,000 people. Play the part and blend in as zombies.
  9. That is great video of Heim, pregame - in his gear taking some warmup pitches from Dunning. Raymond said he's progressing along faster than expected.
  10. Fuck, don't need another player on the DL after being impaled.
  11. Jung to undergo surgery and is expected to be out 6 weeks, "maybe a little less" per Bochy. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2023/08/07/rangers-third-baseman-josh-jung-to-have-thumb-surgery-expected-to-miss-six-weeks/
  12. Jankowski sitting, no surprise as he hasn't started against a lefty since early May. First off the bench to PH tonight.
  13. Not in Lana Clarkson's eyes (yeah, that whack Phil Spector murdered her in 2003.)
  14. We've been lucky so far that with the proliferation of homeless camps that none of their fires have gotten sideways. I remember the Oak Hill / Scenic Brook wildfire in 2011 was started by a guy cooking breakfast or something.
  15. Every time I hear Nowitzki interviewed I am reminded why he's one of my favorite athletes of all time, in any sport. I've never been a Mavericks fan but will always be a huge fan of his. Simply a class act.
  16. Woo, two weeks from tomorrow we get into double digits. https://www.kxan.com/weather/weather-blog/heres-when-100o-days-end-in-austin/
  17. Sucks about Jung but I'm equally concerned about Seager. Along with Garcia, the offense / team revolves around he and Semien. The former came back a day or two earlier than expected last Wednesday and, as such, the assumption was the thumb was healed. There's no indication, now, that he'll miss more than a game here and there but once "lingering issue" is introduced then, yeah, it becomes a concern. Oh well. The injury thing obviously hasn't been kind to this team of late but it's again 20 games over .500 for the season and a crazy 46-game improvement over where things ended last season. Nice things are happening. No derailing that, injuries be damned.
  18. Oakland (local - 8:40, 8:40, 2:30) Dunning, Scherzer, Montgomery v. Waldichuk, Sears, TBD Sweep that garbage.
  19. Obviously nice to see Heaney with another great outing and the offense's power surge. But my equal good takeaway was seeing Maddux and Scherzer fully engaged on the top step during the game, whether it be about Heaney's mechanics of otherwise. The Rangers should get dividends from Scherzer every 5th day on the hill. He'll provide more between starts. Injuries...no bueno with Seager's thumb flaring up. Sounds like he may sit for game one at Oakland. No idea on Jung's situation after that brutal line drive.
  20. Yeah. You'd think we'd see some relief by then but who the hell knows. Even if it "cools" down 8-10 degrees by then we're still looking at the upper 90s which is probably going to be the case.
