He had exited the game due to “injury”.

He was waiting to be allowed back on. He was then waved back on once the ball had moved back to midfield.

As he’s jogging onto the pitch, Poland sends the ball backwards and #19 speeds up and steals the ball and makes the Polish defender & keeper his bitches.

i don't know, man, that's shady as fuck. how they wave him on when the ball is in play like that...i just saw a short clip but it looked like a total fuck up

    The Republican Party isn't a conservative party with a white-supremacist fringe; it's a white-supremacist party with a conservative fringe.

yeah, so i've been thinking on this, as we see the astronomical approval ratings for trump amongst republicans.

regarding the children issue, i think 66% of the nation was against it, but 58% of republicans supported it. this to me says that fewer people are identifying themselves as republicans. i cannot help but wonder if november will be an ice-cold splash of water for the republican party.

Meh, I think that the criticism is perfectly timed, since the hysterical information overload benefits Trump at precisely the times like these.  I am not sure where the catbird seat is in this case exactly, but I don't think I am anywhere near it.

and the timing of it was all i disagreed with.

i think a secondary problem is that this president does things that would seem outrageous in previous administrations with such appalling frequency that it can become difficult not to get caught up. i certainly feel a kind of overload. it's every fucking day, man. you know it.

but i heard the kids crying and i saw red. we haven't even verified the recording is real, but we do know that shit is happening. this is the time for the outrage. that's why i singled out your post. anyways. i think we mostly understand each other here.

Oh come on man.  You cite upvotes to your post in response to the text I quote to support your posture, and then pivot to framing your disagreement on a different  post. I like you hayden, but come one man.  You are trying to paint me into a corner that I don't occupy. But I am disingenuous.

i'm doing a poor job explaining myself to you. i don't disagree with the things in that first post i quoted. you spent the first sentence or two in that post saying that you agree this policy is bullshit. then you spend the next 60-70% of your words lecturing about the ills of news overload. yes, people reacting to the fish food thing were shrill. okay. that adds nothing to this discussion. whatever. either i'm failing to make it clear that i think your criticism of the shrillness is ill-timed and misplaced in this thread, or you are too ensconced and excited about being in a catbird's seat to lecture others. i don't know which. either way, i failed, and i'll let it go.

OK, I mean, you are free to disagree with the following:

"This has been my issue from election day + 1.  The hysterical reaction to everything Trump does (OMG he dumped out the fish food! da tweets!) washes out the real deplorable shit that needs to be confronted head on. When an environment of constant information chaos is created, shit don't get processed by the average American. Trump thrives on exactly that, and the media has played right along from day one. This board can't even track the real outrages vs the manufactured ones, but you people realize that every poster here, even the total fucking retards, are operating at the right end of the intelligence bell curve. Whatever. Pour another one and watch a rudderless political party commit suicide, hoping something better comes out the other side."

And for the record, even though he will loathe to agree, brisket and I share a very similar world view and assessment of our societal predicament.  I would suggest however that I staked that position on the board in advance of brisket, and he is simply coming around to my perspective.

you see, i wasn't disagreeing with any of that, and you are smart enough to know that. i was disagreeing with this:

No.  This and all times previously were precisely the moment to call out the shrill bullshit. Because the shrill bullshit is overloading the information capacity and undermines the ability to rally to the real issues. Jesus Christ, you don't see the play being run, but I am the disingenuous asshole.

i think the time to call out the shrill bullshit is not in a thread like this, where children are literally sobbing.

and yes, the post which you authored and posted is actually correct.  i simply happen to think this thread and this particular portion of the thread where we are discussing tyhe policy of separating families is the wrong context for that discussion. i happen to think you are right, but wrong place wrong time.

Derka are you using R2 or whichever button it is, I can never remember which buttons I press, to shield the ball? It’s much more effective than it ever has been. Also dribble moves are unnecessary. Try using Shield, not using turbo, and making quick cuts. The good players don’t need anything special to beat defenders. Patience with the ball and small quick movements leads to great results in the box.

what derka is saying is right, though. i've turned up the aggression all the way on my defenders. i just played bottom of the table crystal palace to a 1-0 very hard fought victory, because i cannot advance the ball. i've stopped trying to defend, because i kind of suck at the angles and getting the ball, so i just let the AI defend. they do not defend like my opponent's AI. my wife has even noticed it. they are in every passing lane, and succeed in stealing the ball from me all the time. i turned up the difficulty level because i had clearly exceeded the last one, and it's boring winning 3-0 or 4-1 all the time.

but all i want is a sense of fairness in the game. i appreciate that i'm not dribbling that great, or playing all the button tricks right. but their defenders are all up in my shit while my dudes are backpedaling all the way down the field. it's frustrating to feel like things are artificially against you.

i simply disagree with you, and judging from the reactions to my post, i'm not the only one. but you do you. you like to decry brisket for him eeyore-like posting, but you basically do the same thing, only with a slightly different angle. was hoping to make you aware of how you are coming across to the rest of the board, but i can see you aren't interested, so i'll stop trying and go back to ignoring your #bothsides.

Weak shit hayden. You know exactly what I am referring to, and choose to misrepresent. But I am the one who is disingenuous.

yeah, but this isn't the time to call out the shrill bullshit. this is one of the real deals. call out the shrill bullshit like the fish food pour out, and reference this kind of issue. what you do when you bring the fish food shrill bullshit to a real issue, you legitimize the #bothsides people. assuming you are not really one of those, which i really think you are not. this is an issue about which to get shrill, imo. not the one to go to whatabout when you all (really, not all, but whatever) got mad about this fish food issue?

Hypothetical about hystericals? Legit LOL. See upthread.  Our society is entrenched in total information chaos, including this fucking thread where we have some obviously total nonsensical FB/twatter nonsense being posted and reposted and linked for consumption.  The fucking noise being created drowns out reality.  And that is exactly the play that Trump is running.  I point out that we are feeding into that and I am legitimizing evil. OK.

    legit lol, tho, amirite?

I agree with the family camps being a somewhat better stance, but let's be real. If the Trump administration did that the outrage would be equally feverish. OMG they are building dedicated facilities to lock up entire families in concentration camps!!11!

This has been my issue from election day + 1.  The hysterical reaction to everything Trump does (OMG he dumped out the fish food! da tweets!) washes out the real deplorable shit that needs to be confronted head on. When an environment of constant information chaos is created, shit don't get processed by the average American. Trump thrives on exactly that, and the media has played right along from day one. here's why so many of your posts ring hollow. maybe you don't realize it, so i'm kind of going to give it a try.

you are obviously against the separation of families, at least it seems. however, your step forward in sentence one of paragraph one. the rest of your post delves into a weird hypothetical because, for some reason, you think that the constant criticism of trump is unwarranted, because no matter what happens people are going to freak out.

    no.

people are freaking out because of the outrageous shit. THIS ISSUE is an example of "the real deplorable shit that needs to be confronted head on."

and what you do with posts like yours, even if you aren't #bothsides, is legitimize the both sides. when you should be decrying in the loudest and most powerful terms, you still equivocate because some people are shrill about some things. it ruins you as a poster a bit, because we all know you're a smart guy. you just don't seem to want to take a stance, instead trying to be critical of the critics. it's strange.

You mean like how every set piece in the EPL is officiated every weekend?

i know that a lot is allowed in the EPL, but i've seen two form tackles that should have been called anywhere on the globe.

  13. i'm not even whatsapping my english colleagues. this is the most english of matches.

but it's fucking criminal how the ref is allowing tunisia to tackle english players on set pieces.

  14. 13 minutes ago, Napoleon said:

3 minutes of injury time, a guy goes down for 1 minute of that, and the ref still blows the whistle at 48:00.

This ref isn't up to the standards of the other refs.

after it took probably 5 minutes to for the tunisia keeper to realize he was really hurt and to sub for him.

extra time is a crap shoot.

jesus christ, those bugs are insane.

I LOVE golf. If I had time, I would play 2-3 times a week. That said, I haven't picked up a golf club in about 9 months due to having a 1 year old.

Of all the arguments regarding Trump vs. Obama, I wish the golf thing would go away. Yeah, Trump is a fucking horror and it's sickening how much he plays at his courses. But Obama played a FUCK TON of golf for a man in his position as well.

Dude. This fucking guy made golf a campaign issue. He spent most of a decade criticizing Obama for the amount of golf he played. It's fucking relevant.
