Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
hayden_horn replied to MaybeACoordinator's topic in Daily Texan
i'm not even an employment lawyer, much less a lawyer of any kind, and i had a for real pavlovian response to the idea of suing elon based on this twitter exchange. hoisted by your own petard indeed. -
reading this thread has been interesting. i'm about as pinche gringo as one can get, but i've been fortunate enough to travel all over the world, and i tend to be drawn to sketchy ass areas in general because they are more interesting. i stay in whitechapel area in london. i don't think that's a big deal, but some people are shocked when they hear that. i like to think i know how to keep my head on a swivel, appear on guard enough to not be worth the trouble, etc. i'm a very experienced traveler. that said, i ain't traveling through mexico. in recent years, i've been to a 6 star resort there and felt safe enough walking through the local town, but i have no illusions as to why i felt safe. but yall gringoing your way across interior mexico these days are brave or comfortable or something else.

the game was released in 2013. i only recently played it, because i have kids and am very picky with video game time, and it was a fucking masterpiece of storytelling plus gameplay. the only other game experience i've ever had that was so good was maybe mass effect 2. but then that went and ruined everything with the original end of mass effect 3. but honestly, the game is so good, because you can play it on a stupid impossible level and have zombies all up in your shit everywhere, but it's really the down time in the game that makes it. ellie reading the puns, or just asking about things we just think about as normal. it's also the space in between the words. the show captures it perfectly. it's hard to nail down, but they just got it perfectly. also, that fucking psycho chasing you around the restaurant took me fucking forever, especially once he started ducking. how she kills him in the show is pretty much how you feel as a gamer. but everything, the grooming, the hand touch, the "oh," god it's all so fucking creepy. i could barely watch it in the game, and it was even harder in the show. my wife couldn't even.

yeah, deb got sideways with the owners - that happens, whatever. she's going to be hard to replace, but i'm sure you can give it a go. what i don't understand is this slavish need to do a music talk hybrid in the morning. if i want music, i can get music. if i want local content, i gotta wait through the fucking foo fighters my hero? get out of here. i'll listen to the podcast, thanks. i do not understand the business, as outlined earlier, but it's broken af. i wasn't a jason and deb guy, but they were local content which seems to be going away so we can hear some more pink fucking floyd.
-
this is my impression. he's not overly argumentative, but he does manage to fire back without sounding too petulant. i honestly thought he would've already broken by now. he's playing the part of "i'm a bad guy, i've done bad things, also addiction, but i didn't kill anyone" very well. i mean, as a neutral observer who hasn't followed this as closely as my wife, i think this guy is guilty af

alls i know is i've never once been to south carolina, but if this is how folks there are generally, i'm not interested. who has kennels? everyone has two names (as a guy with two names in my family, i sympathize), nicknames, spit cups, chickens to eat or some shit. what the hell is going on in this trial?
-
so i was kind of watching this just now before they broke for lunch. i wasn't paying super close attention. what kind of shit are white people doing in south carolina? what grown ass man on the witness stand refers to another grown ass man as "t pop" or whatever the hell that was. anyways, he's shifty af. he killed them.
-
as someone who was the last holdout on a guilty verdict iin a jury room, it takes more than an idiot to hang a jury. it takes a brave person. i only held out as long as i did because i just wanted to make sure that the prosecution covered all the bases. we ended up doing right in the end, but i'm not sending a guy away for life without asking a few questions.

no worries! anyone on next door anywhere near ben white probably saw it

yeah, that looks to be accurate. it's fucking bollix though. what sort of shit was happening on a saturday morning at 8 fucking 30 that they couldn't spare a unit to check out an actual crime? oh, right, when i left, a cop had someone pulled over at stassney. THAT must have been the emergency. not a stolen fucking car with a methed out lunatic at the wheel.
-
god, it's been more than a week, and i'm still fucking irate. it's not about me, it's about my 70 year old mother in law. just send a goddamn uniform by to fucking pretend to give a shit and give her some level of comfort that the taxes she's spent to keep her safe give any kind of shit about her HOME. her house, where her grandkids come over to play. just pretend to give a shit. it wouldn't have mattered to me, it's become obvious that from city leadership onb down, policing in this community is a fucking joke. and apd treats it like a joke. apd is a joke. fuck austin police.
-
https://www.austinchronicle.com/news/2001-03-02/80723/ fucking chronicle whitewashing the riot that the fucking cops started. i was there for that one too. i still maintain that the city hated mardi gras and wanted it shut down and sent out its thugs to do just that. and they did. fuckers.

holy shit, i didn't even see the reaction to the street racers over the weekend as a serious news story. some dudes doing donuts? my in laws got burgled, their shit stolen, their home invaded, their car stolen, their neighbor assaulted (with a deadly weapon, a car, also attempted murder probably), someone hit head on in a traffic accident and hurt. oh, and they have footage of the guys who did it. but some kids with fireworks and doing fucking donuts? better call the fucking lege and get a press conference going. fuck you, austin pd. fuck you forever.

joe biden showing up to ukraine out of nowhere in his aviators and just being a badass is so refreshing. not bad for a doddering old coot, right republicans?
-
yeah, i imagine it's all over next door. i edited your post, i dunno why, but i took out the make and model of the car. but yes.
-
so i've been waiting to post this because i've been fucking furious about it. austin police is a fucking joke. fuck you all. just a complete fucking joke of an organization. last weekend, my in laws were robbed. burgled. whatever. some dude broke into their house. then that dude let in another dude. luckily, my in laws were out for the evening. anyways, at 2:30ish in the am, first guy is seen on ring. 3:30ish in the am, another dude shows up with a goddamn hammer and starts in on the front door, before (presumably) he is let in by the other guy. no real camera activity until 8:30ish in the morning, when one of the dudes is loading up one of my inlaws cars, wearing my father in law's clothes, boots, $300 hat. neighbor (elderly gentleman) wielding a freshly cut bamboo pole confronts the car thief as he's getting in the car. thier speeds off, nearly dragging neighbor with him. guy speeds off, police are called. 8:30am. stolen car. oh well. possible drunk/high perp driving at high speed. oh well. oh, they robbed the house. oh well. anyways, i arrive to help them clean up around 9:30, expecting to see multiple police cruisers on the scene. haha. nothing. the dudes tossed their house. i mean, i guess, luckily my in-laws are not super well off, but they work fucking hard and their stuff is fucking theirs. but there were no guns to take, no major valuables. just the car and some clothes, som broken stuff. they took a shower in there, changed clothes, left behind all their old clothes, wallet, drug periphenalia, condoms, whatever. they raided the fridge and threw full beer cans around. they ate provolone and chocolate. it was a strange scene. sampled various nice things from the liquor cabinet, ruining probably more than $1000 worth of booze. i helped clean up. hours pass. no cops show up. there's a police report, and suddenly mom in law asks me if she should handle her car insurance. i told her if it made her feel useful to call the insurance and report it stolen, but the police already had the report, so she needn't worry at that moment, etc. well, she wanted to feel useful, so she called, and... there has been an injury accident reported with her vehicle to her insurance. the motherfucker hit someone. we have pics from nextdoor of police on the scene of the accident. the car is totaled. booze all over the car. happened in the morning. still, nobody from apd has showed up at the house. the meth head walked away toward 183, presumably never to be heard from again until his next shining moment of breaking in and stealing shit is once again unpunished. anyways, by and by, i leave. shit's mostly cleaned up and most importantly, the inlaws are more at ease. i guess. as i am driving home, i idly notice that a police cruiser has pulled someone over not 5 minutes away from their house. looks like a speeding ticket or something. nevermind the victimized family minutes away, get that money, apd! anyways, the police showed up at 11:30pm. so, robbery, stolen vehicle, injury accident, perp on the loose, oh well. we'll just show up IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING NIGHT AFTER A BREAK IN. WHAT COULD GO WRONG? needless to say, my father in law answered the door with a baseball bat. cops are shining lights in his eyes, etc. it all ended more or less amicably with my father in law telling them to fuck off. eventually, the police came by to collect the items left by the perps. car was totaled. hat was recovered from the scene of the wreck. well done, apd. not only did you not bother to try and catch the guys, by the way, whose faces are clear on the ring doorbell footage you were offered, but declined to even view it. a pretty hip south austin neighborhood was fairly traumatized by these two methheads, but no cops bothered to show up to even, i dunno, pretend they were on the fucking case and gave a shit about the residents of the neighborhood? casual neglect might get you a few extra concessions in your negotiations, but you get a hearty forever fuck you from me for dereliction of duty. fuck you apd. you suck.

Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
hayden_horn replied to MaybeACoordinator's topic in Daily Texan
god it's so cringey even by the standards of the time -
yeah, there's a very real peril. twd fell down when the characters (really, the actors) became bigger than the story. @naija said this: that's exactly the difference between the walking dead and the last of us. the walking dead became a zombie show. this is a character story with zombies. big difference.
-
yeah, it's one of the defining characteristics of the game and part of what made it iconic. we can joke about clickers or hunters or whatever, but you want to joke about henry and sam, and we might have to have a sit down. that's what made the game so fucking great. it was the space in between the zombie rush/hunter killing that really hooked you. gameplay is pretty average. scarcity was a fun challenge, as was collecting the comics, etc. but i wasn't in it for the next bloater/gun upgrade or my typical ocd gamer collecting self that end out making the games not as much fun. i was in this one to fucking win it and see all the story, because that was the value. i don't know how they've managed to do such a good job on the show so far, but i don't want to jinx anything.
-
it's pretty much an all or nothing moment whenever one of those shows up. you scrounge around and stab people and runners in the neck so you can save every scrap you find and then throw everything you've got at a bloater. afterwards, time to scrounge around for all the craft shit again.

Another balloon object shot down over Alaska

the mighty ships tore across the empty wastes of space and finally dived screaming on to the first planet they came across - which happened to be the Earth - where due to a terrible miscalculation of scale the entire battle fleet was accidentally swallowed by a small dog.- 301 replies
