My son searches river and creek beds for arrowheads, he's found several hundred. He's quite good at finding them.
Built this for him to store and show off some of his better ones.
Made it with cherry wood and inlayed bocote wood on the top and made the drawer pulls from bocote as well.
The top section has a removable tray.
Smoked 3 racks of baby back ribs on Sunday and they turned out ok. probably should have just smoked 2 racks as the drip pan doesn't span entirely below the racks.
There was some grease dripping into the smoker shell that will need to be cleaned out as I don't want a grease fire at higher temps.
One thing I did not consider was the 590 does not have a pellet dump feature. Probably not that big of a deal anyway.
Other than that, everything looks good. Hopefully I can get to a brisket over Memorial weekend.
My Snap On tool box purchased in 1981 gets daily usage. "I own the best so please don't ask to borrow" sticker is still on it.
And yes, it took awhile to pay it off.
Wasp and Hornet spray is not as effective as it once was.
I remember spraying wasps and they would die instantly. Now I spray them and they wiggle around until they die.
Either the spray has changed or there is a new killer wasp invading my house.
Have been dealing with an infection in my upper chest for 3 weeks. On the way to work this morning I coughed so hard I pulled a muscle in my side rib cage.
I installed a back feed plug in my shop and can run my portable generator (5.5kW) output through that to feed my house. The generator stays a little distance from my house to cut down on noise and I can also refuel/maintenance the generator inside my shop when needed then place it back outside.
Like others have posted, you have to be selective on what you really need during an outage.
Replaced mine a couple of years ago.
Removed drive shaft and took to a shop that specializes in U-joint replacement. Took them 1 day and they balanced the drive shaft as well.
Had to replace a part on my TV so ordered it online. Got Fedex notification that it had been delivered.
Me: Got home from work and asked wife (no pics) where the delivered part was?
Wife: Nothing delivered today
Me: Are you sure? I have a delivery notification
Wife: I'm sure, I was working in the flower bed out front all day.
Called Fedex and told them they must have delivered to the wrong house. They took my info (address, home color, etc..) and said they would investigate.
I called the next day and they told me to file a claim for lost package and it would take 2-3 weeks to process.
The very next fucking day I received an email from them saying "Claim Denied"
Now I scream "FUCK YOU" to every Fedex driver that comes through my neighborhood.
Wall is framed in 2x4.
Installed 1/2" OSB sheets and was going to just paint that but when I put the primer coat on the OSB I wasn't satisfied with the overall look.
Ended up putting 1/4" drywall on top of the OSB and finishing that. In reality I made a $1200 mistake installing the OSB when I could have just done drywall.
However, the wall is pretty frickin stiff so I can hange just about anything anywhere.
I've been thinking about building a desk for my home office and using a slab for the top.
It's easy to go down the YT wormhole on finishing these.
What are you planning on using this for?
Used plans I found online and modified to my needs. When I priced premade cabinets locally and online the costs were pretty high compared to what I could do by myself and the quality not nearly as good as I wanted.
Since I had all the tools already I just built them myself. Of course I decided to build them when lumber prices were/are at all time highs.
