  1. We are not beating all of Tech, ISU, and Baylor. Anyone or all of those guys have a shot at beating us.
  2. All the stats for the season are meaningless in this game. This game comes down to players, turnovers, coaching adjustments, and injuries. Somehow UT wins and it doesn't matter how or by how much.
  3. I think the gap between the top 1-2 teams and that middle group of 3, 4, and 5 teams is not as big as some people think. It's still colllege football and there's upsets waiting to happen. I don't see our the games against Baylor and ISU as automatic.
  4. Is Sanders, oSu QB, as bad as he looks today? Easily the worst QB play I've seen in the Big12 this year.
  5. Yes to that, I watched the game and he clearly has an issue with his temper. I thought he was going to go full Woodie Hays with a couple of his players. That game made me think last year was a fluke foot ISU.
  6. I don't guess I really care how any future realignment shakes out as long as college football survives. I don't want to see an NFL-Light creation of a bunch of blue bloods. I like seeing a really good G5 team that can punch above it's weight class. I like going to regional rivalry games and I like playing schools where students can do road trips by auto. I don't enjoy going to NFL games and I'm afraid some of these super conference ideas would become similar.
  7. Yes women's sports will never be a huge deal but they actually are a deal that can't legally be ignored by universities and you know UCONN is the local team. I watch some women's basketball on a random basis like UT vs Baylor or UT vs UCONN. It beats WWE for me.
  8. Valid question, deserves an answer if there is one.
  9. I like Romo but whether I watch a game or not has nothing to do with the media guys. However, I am totally onboard with anyone cashing in while they're hot. Why ask for 10Mil, why not 15Mil?
  10. I don't think she has a case. Evidence supported Oakman.
  11. Aston has to be graded objectively by Del Conte. If Big12 Championships are the goal, waiting for Mulkey to retire is not acceptable.
  12. This for sure, I can't think of a current college coach I would trust. Lane Kiffin is the norm.
  13. Rhule had something like 50 scholarship players when he arrived at Baylor. In two years he has moved Baylor past the state of Kansas and beat both Tech and oSu this year. He is pretty good on the recruiting trail and seems to develop players well. Seems like a great fit at Baylor. I don't get the NFL stuff either but the Baylor AD on radio said there have been FBS inquiries but Rhule hasn't been interested in other FBS schools. I like conference competition so I hope Rhule and Matt Campbell stick around and hopefully the new coach at Tech will be competitive.
  14. I'm shocked that Saban hasn't quit yet. He's like 68 years old and unless he wins a natty, it's not a successful season.
  15. Applewhite is at Miami.....
  16. I'm impressed by him and Matt Campbell too. I don't know what makes someone an NFL type but by all accounts both Rhule and Campbell check the boxes. As we have seen before, winning at the college level is not one of the boxes. I hope Campbell and Rhule both stay in the Big12 because they make the Big12 better, well except that Alamo Bowl.
  17. I think he's like Matt Campbell and would leave in a heartbeat for the right job but the Jets organization makes Jerry Jones look like a well oiled machine.
  18. If you are a Cardinals fan, just about anything new wold be exciting. Hope KK succeeds and makes the NFL fun to watch.
  19. Matt Rhule is from NY and he has coached on the Giants staff, still, I don't think he leaves Baylor this year. Of course my opinion is useless in such matters.
  20. So when do the Arizona Cardinals announce KK as the new HC?
  21. Yes, this is a pretty big thing in the coaching community. Unemployed and employed coaches of every tier will be there.
  22. This may be the first championship game I don't watch since the BCS era started. The problem is I don't care which team wins or how they accomplish it. I'll probably watch a rerun of the Sugar Bowl and maybe a couple of others for the warm up.
  23. The NFL has some hiring limitations, you can't go buy a currently successful NFL coach because he's under contract and that owner is not going to agree to an interview, a trade maybe. So you have retreads, current OCs because it would be a promotion and unemployed college coaches. The pool of successful college coaches are either being paid excessively, don't want an NFL job, or not a good fit. So people like Kingsbury get interviews and in fact might be a successful NFL coach because the game is a lot different than coaching 18-22 year olds. Plus, as michaelpshayes says above, "the NFL has a lot of retards for owners and GMs".
