You Texas wade fishing guys are crazy. "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right." That being said: my brother sent me some TX wade fishing pictures this morning. Looks like he had a good weekend.
Purchased the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Spring Kit from Amazon. Had it professionally installed on a 2010 Dodge Ram yesterday. Can't tell it's there while driving around at the recommended 5psi. Haven't towed the boat with it yet. About $615 purchased and installed.
Does anyone have any experience adding an aftermarket Air Lift or Rider Right air helper system to the rear suspension of a truck? I am thinking about buying a bigger boat and I am interested in potentially putting an air helper system in the rear coil springs to prevent rear-end sag and help with towing. The truck currently does NOT have onboard air. Looks like you can spend $100 for just two bags, $500 for two bags with more capacity and stainless hardware or $850 for a kit with onboard air and a wireless controller.
I only plan on keeping the truck for another two years.
Natty light. Less than 50¢ per can so there's no regrets if one gets hot or kicked over. Depending on the plans I pack 6-18 per angler. It's half the reason I am out there.
Anyone have experience with repairing a flex spot in an aluminum deck? It's inaccessible from underneath. It flexes and "pops" when you step on it. Scares my pet redfish away. Right behind the trolling motor too. I have a local shop that'll weld on aluminum. I just need to know what to tell those boys to do. Weld another piece on top of it? Something else?
I used a 20% coupon code from the gun owners thread at Academy online. Got the drive unit for $473 delivered. Then I ordered a $80 spike from Austin Kayak. PP has a rebate going of up to $100 for micro spikes if you purchase a drive unit and spike within 180 days of each other. I applied for the rebate and we'll see how that goes.
Install was of medium difficulty. 5200 got broken out and shit got messy.
Tapa is back working I guess. Mentioned up-thread that I am slumming it on a duck boat redfishing while I transition from a flats boat to a bay boat... I got a 24x36 boat barn on order for both sleds. Gonna look like this but with 12' doors.
