  1. Good because 99% of everything that's couched in terms of "pro-children" is unmitigated horseshit
  2. Session after session, trans folks and their families, as well as some doctors, testify to the legislature about the facts and science regarding being transgender and the positive outcomes from treatment. Far more people testify in favor of trans rights than against, every time. The lege simply doesn't. fucking. care. Same as with abortion stuff. We need regular, ordinary people, outside of the trans community, to stand up en masse and be heard. Testify, rally, contact your reps, and all reps. Until that happens they won't see any downside to continue attacking and stigmatizing this group. It's gotten so ugly that attempted erasure and genocide are accurate terms for what they're doing. It's fucking horrifying.
  3. stoked for these upcoming Austin shows -- Tuna and the Rock Cats Ministry/Gary Numan/Front Line Assembly Sisters of Mercy Clan of Xymox ☠️🤩
  4. Ronnie is acting in loco parentis. Come on, you can trust him
  5. And going back-assward at high speed brought to you by the sexual predator and drunk driver Charles Schwertner. Actual criminals fucking up our future. All gas no brakes.
  6. How is it that this photo makes him look MORE masculine than he actually is?
  7. or at least wear a Viking-type helmet around the house until you get these dizzy spells sorted out.
  8. everything churro-related is shit. Nastiness.
  9. This is the "defense" they're going with. Laughable: “Trying to imply something sinister or inappropriate about a great-grandfather’s use of social media says more about the mind of the left-wing operative making the implication than it does about Randy McNally,” the statement read. “As anyone in Tennessee politics knows, Lt. Governor McNally is a prolific social media commenter. He takes great pains to view every post he can and frequently posts encouraging things to many of his followers. Does he always use the proper emoji at the proper time? Maybe not. But he enjoys interacting with constituents and Tennesseans of all religions, backgrounds and orientations on social media."
  10. I guess this isn't relevant, but damn C.B. is NOT easy on the eyes. Galapagos tortoise comes to mind.
  11. yep. "The Gathering USA" would also not be out of place as a title for a Pride event. Put it with a men's ministry, and you got super gay
  12. Isn't Walgreens CEO kind of Trumpy? Fuck them and fuck Kris mf'ing Kobaugh, jfc the right just recycles all these corrupt retreads after they lose an election, with the idiots voting them into another position
  13. So the default should be no hormone care for trans minors so that they go through irreversible effects of puberty, as if trans people just spring fully formed as their trans selves at the magical age of 18? Yeah how scientific.
  14. How would the 5th circuit support jurisdiction in that venue, and standing by the plaintiffs? Though it seems like standing isn't even a thing anymore, even for SCOTUS
  15. meh I think it hurt Hobbs not to debate just for the optics of that, that is assuming her debate performance wouldn't have been all-time historically bad so that it would have actually persuaded some against her. We're all lucky Hobbs won. It wasn't a big margin. Lake was already a known quantity, don't think it would've given her a bigger stage in a way that would have mattered.
  16. He needs to take his tiny meathooks off that animal like NOW or I will go and seize that cat myself goddammit
  17. Some dick named Bob Hall filed a bill to impose liability on health care providers and insurers who provide/cover gender-affirming care to anyone. Yes, ADULTS. And this means even hormone therapy. Fuck this state and its voters who keep voting for these extremists.
  18. This shit is so enragingly frustrating to me. My mother is a case in point. She's a retired realtor and one issue she actually cares about is having properly funded public schools (quality of local schools is a big selling or non-selling point for buyers, obviously). She's unhappy about the school choice crap and also the unfair portions some districts pay into Robin Hood. I told her before, it will never change as long as the same people keep getting voted in. Now post-election, that they're close to further defunding the schools, she said she wrote to her reps in opposition. Who are her reps? ALL Repubs, of course. She says they need to find an alternative for school funding if they do this stupid voucher stuff. Says me: NO alternative will be forthcoming because the leadership here does. not. support. public. education. I try to be direct without being confrontational about it because she's gone all Fox news in the last 10-20 years and god forbid I criticize the right. But fuck, if you care about this issue -- do you think you could NOT vote for all Republicans at every single opportunity, only to bitch at the policies they advance?? Stop acting like you don't have any choice. It's a disease. I'm convinced.
  19. And she even knots her white tee in the front, so we don't get the full effect of why a woman would knot it in the back
  20. Hmmm. And then what will happen? No reporting except by boutiques like Texas Tribune? And then crickets? Sorry, this guy is total shit, but my cynicism has been metastasized by Paxton and his ilk
  21. A significant amount of evidence supporting positive outcomes of treatment, under the standard of care, of trans adolescents --but not much "high quality clinical evidence" as some would require in this particular arena vs. no significant or quality evidence that not treating trans adolescents leads to positive outcomes Unless you think treatment regret appearing to be 1-10% (and 10% very generously) is a huge thing... While the culture warriors try to catch up on their very particularized outrage about the audacity of trans people existing and seeking treatment, the evidentiary default of "do no harm" has shifted the burden to the non-treaters.
  22. For a city manager, I think Gronk would be a lot more fun than Cronk. Someone make the call.
