  1. Real question for someone in Georgia or following this race more closely -- I would get a jillion emails a day from Warnock's campaign asking for money. But haven't seen efforts to educate people on who Walker is: a violent abusive man with mental problems (ok, have seen a few Rubes doing "what-about-Warnock's ex-wife said he did something to her foot. So same-same"). But it seems R voters in Georgia are mostly unaware of the big ugly picture of Herschel. So are Warnock's people getting info out at all about all the police calls and violent incidents?
  2. I am most disappoint in the utter cessation of continued attacks on Abbott from the right flank of Huffhines, West, et. al.
  3. I mean.... is the whole Qanon thing true, but as projection/deflection?
  4. So the shooter was both a bad guy with a gun AND a good guy with a gun
  5. It wasn't until law school that I learned about the legal fight to desegregate schools -- how long and intense a battle it was, Thurgood Marshall's role prior to SCOTUS and all of that.
  6. The right-wing culture warrior shit has gotten so ridiculous that the basic tenets they teach little kids when they go to school -- "Be kind, respect others who are different, don't discriminate" -- is now woke and therefore the godly way is to be hateful to those who are different. The right is a disease.
  7. This decision is just legally absurd to me. So the founders didn't envision any limitations whatsoever to a personal right to have a firearm for an adult? They would have never imagined the fantastical nightmare of gun violence we're experiencing. And anyway, why stop there, where's all the founder statements about "adults" and what age they envisioned that being. I just don't see any real guiding principles at work here. Garbage.
  8. I can't picture how asserting this privilege (speech & debate clause) could put the burden on the other side when there's no personal jeopardy attached.
  9. true .. at least E. Warren was championining it ... which I was glad to see
  10. So as a stutterer you could either become a school shooter or President of the United States. I kid. Salute all of you who had to overcome such a challenge. Makes me sad to think about the bullying or even just the lack of proper therapeutic attention.
  11. Number one qualification requirement for the job of top law enforcement official should of course be : Not. A. Criminal. Still wonder how Jaworski would have come out against Paxton and why he had such a poor primary showing.
  12. This is possibly #1 of things that make me so angry that I have to just step away for the sake of my mental health. Since R's are so "concerned" about paying for things, this needs to be plastered on billboards all across the state. And yet, the one-eyed crime spree would still win.
  13. Yep. I guess if you're a trumper, courts will make your argument for you. His claimed exception is bullshit anyway and all this does is add to interminable delays, playing right into their tiny hands.
  14. Zimmerman did not contest abusing his minor daughter, with whom he now has no relationship. A total piece of shit, so of course he's still bouncing around as an R candidate.
  15. Jared is just the same type of sociopath as his dad and as Trump is, crime family genes joining another crime family. Wonder if Javanka's kids have set any fires or mutilated any animals yet.
  16. You're in luck then, because no babies were or are being killed.
  17. Someone mentioned he's a manlet --- how short is he? He's got a mighty fat face for a little dude.
  18. The bolded is true and fuck your purposely obtuse pedantry
  19. "Do-nothing" is what they run on -- government is incompetent of course, so doing nothing is actually a plus and also owns the libs, who want to do something for people. Their voters want to identify as privileged so they imagine themselves as privileged, due to their hard work --and also as self-sufficient and a target for others' unearned desires. Narcissism works on a macroscopic scale. Easy grift.
  20. Goddamn, I even italicized my response for you. Again... Roe didn't do shit, in terms of causing some swell of outrage. Eventually, there was an orchestrated, disingenuous power grab to get Baptists to coalesce with catholics, after power brokers determined abortion could be weaponized to create a theocratic movement.
  21. Exactly my point-- evangelicals latched on later because they saw that the pro-fetus stance could align with their views of gender hierarchy and rigidity, and they saw this could help them gain power for a christofascist state. You agree with me but say I have brain damage ... interesting.
  22. As you are likely aware, it's the well-sourced and -researched truth. Your attempt at contrarian intellectual has deteriorated into petty, transparent insults.
  23. brisket beat me to it [surly equivalent of "Simpsons did it"?]
  24. Troll. It wasn't initiated by Roe, there was a concerted political strategy to sell "life begins at conception" to get the (previously not on-board) Baptist coalition onboard as pro-fetus along with the papists, so they could move together as power brokers in support of a christian theocratic state. Quite sure this isn't the first you've heard of this. But sure, grass-roots opposition to Roe (rolls eyes)
