  2. Austin is set to give away $846 million in recapture this next go-round. And can't remotely meet the needs of its own students, at least half of whom qualify for reduced or free lunch. Once that recapture is distributed to the state level of piss-poor per-student funding of other districts, they take the money leftover for their general budget and do whatever they want with it... including operation Lone Star border grandstanding. In direct contradiction of the state constitutional duty to use those funds to support a free and safe education. Which is codified in the Education Code. Not sure why there aren't lots of lawsuits over that....what they're doing directly contravenes the state constitution. But.... Dems? I don't know but it's infuriating.
  3. I get it but you're presupposing the charter school is better in some way than the "failing" public school ... and there seems to be no evidence of that if macro data comes from aggregating micro data. Unless you're talking about "school safety" which tends to be code for the level of minority enrollment. (and I don't mean you, I mean public perception generally).
  4. The tantrum surrounding not being taken to the capitol / secret service confrontation in the vehicle seems like essentially a collateral story to me. Doesn't add that much to his knowledge and culpability...unless I'm missing something. So of course that's what everyone is focusing on in the media and twittersphere.
  5. Charter schools don't have the same accountability/performance standards as regular public schools, and they can reject students they don't want. Data shows they don't perform any better than the public schools either. As Mrs. Wiggins said, it's just a grift with the added benefit of taking badly needed funds away from public education.
  6. Insane. Total indoctrination, which of course raises the whole accusation-is-confession deal that they're hammering the left with regarding "woke" and "groomers" etc. Evil shit.
  7. Article I read said she had also undergone plastic surgery. Freaky shit
  8. Uh huh sure. Wonderful PD we have here. JFC
  9. it's going to be awesome and we also get to KEEP all the benzo babies because no aborting due to teratogenic effects. I'm loving this brave new world we got going.
  10. look up Buck Angel if you dare
  11. Yep. I remember that well. What I don't completely get is how the elites truly benefit when everything is in shambles. Sure, profit from unfettered capitalism, but there's a tipping point at which they should remember they have to live here too.
  12. Now let the states outlaw bleach because it's not in the Constitution and you'll see these broads riot in the streets
  13. Because we still have things left to lose in this country, the right knows it can fuck us women over perpetually. For me, I have to be careful to even say anything publicly, in literal public or on social media, because I work for a bunch of Republicans. Right to work state... it's the best... First Amendment, it don't make a shit. They can find any reason to terminate -- ironically.
  14. I agree with this. I also believe it's not going to be marches, protests, or even any results at the ballot boxes that will change the dominating (not dominant) culture on this. I think it will be all the individual tales of cruelty coming out as a result of this ruling. People need extremes to get things through their thick heads. And women having bodily autonomy will never in itself be enough unless a fuck ton of women un-cult themselves. Sadly.
  15. not doubting you but why do you feel it was a slip of the tongue?
  16. This is so fucking disingenuous. No connection to reality whatsoever. Fuck you.
  17. And before anyone says that more births from people of color will backfire on their replacement theory fever dreams.... take a look at what the mortality rate is for black women in this country. Total disgrace. And by design.
  18. What do you mean? The House passed a bill codifying Roe. Guess where that went, considering there's still a filibuster? And one of their own -- fucking Manchin-- voted against it anyway.
  19. ah got it. I guess it pays to read
  20. To me, it doesn't even have to be about religious vs. non-religious, as opposed to public vs. private. Bizarre.
  21. Aborted babies got no FOMO
  22. But I think it's been asserted that there were three rounds of gunfire from the shooter, at three quite separate times. So it does seem like some kids could have been saved. At any rate, this will now all focus on the police response rather than keeping assault weapons away from shithead teens.... so it serves its purpose
  23. I'm aware. Just not sure what to do with muh emotions. I feel like normal people should be gnashing teeth and wailing in the streets... but there's nothing to be done that effects change. It's soul-destroying.
  24. what y'all think of Puerta Vallarta? Too overrun? Have been once and about to go again
