  1. It kinda gives me chills that just the day before he was murdered, he gave the speech saying "I have seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know, tonight, that we as a people will get to the promised land...:
  2. and don't forget, it doesn't come with a battery because he's putting it in his new clock.
  3. Medical bed is great but the clock with the ethnics did me in.
  4. He looks like a puffy hemorrhoid, so pretty much in line with the R's previous pick.
  5. I read the other day that this stupidity cluster is actually polling ahead of Warnock? JFC we're so screwed.
  6. Haven't voted since 2012.....so you hate Trump and it would be very bad for him to get (back) into office, but you don't /won't vote for whoever is running against him?
  7. Not buying that he was considered a natural leader or universally respected for his intellect. I feel like I really, really know his type. So very many male law school classmates of mine were practically indistinguishable from Cruz in their personalities. Smart but lacking in social skills and also emotionally stunted. Insecure, reactive, petty, and frequently inspiring second-hand embarrassment. Outlandish liars. Difficulty relating to women. It's weird, because the women were almost entirely a sharp, attractive, mature group. The men were mostly a cluster of personality disorders. I would guess that both Trump and Cruz are sociopaths, and Cruz loves where it's taken the dotard.
  8. I don't know, I've considered telling my mom I'm cutting ties with her if they vote for Paxton again (confident they've voted for him more than once, based on their unquestioning R loyalty). Shit that he's doing has a direct, negative impact on my nuclear family... but my folks probably either don't think about that or just don't care enough.
  9. In the article: In an interview with a political website, Lowe’s message to LGBT Texans — an estimated population of 1.1 million — was: “Keep your hands off our children.” This guy doth protest too much... just look at his gay face
  10. Still not the bump that's needed. Did his investigation get squashed too?
  11. Have to point out that the article says she was working two minimum wage jobs while Clarence was in law school -- not that she put him through school. Nonetheless, this is a story I hadn't known about and his using a very inaccurate, shitty narrative about his own sister to advance his own fortunes is pretty damned evil.
  12. That's the R's only reason for being, and so Cruz's longevity would make sense.
  13. I don't see why the texts change anything. We already knew she was an extremist Trump supporter and has her hand in nearly every shadowy coalition of right-wingers, including all the Jan. 6 stuff. The massive conflict of interest hasn't been obvious before, these texts aren't the "smocking gun" unfortunately. Perhaps more will be revealed.
  14. Just look at this fine specimen of the MASTER RACE
  15. In the world we deserve: Thomas kicks it, Biden gets to nominate someone for the "blek" seat, nominates J. Michelle Childs, Lindsey has to stew in silence, right wing stratosphere's head collectively explodes.
  16. Yeah-- Luka Magnotta type shithead. Almost positive this sick fuck has some video footage. I wish I didn't have to know about people doing terrible things to animals and kids every fucking day.
  17. With all the junk in our state constitution, surely there's something in there about proper use of the state guard
  18. what's the problem since all of those ballot casters were attempting to do a FRAUD
  19. Chuck's deep thoughts: 1) Rigidly enforced gender roles result in increased opportunities for exploitation and predation, because women and children are kept in "their place," and men continue viewing them as having fewer rights. So that's more opportunity for pedos, not fewer. And there, the denial and gaslighting of the right wing come in to both obfuscate and accuse others. And obviously, to gin up voters to raise their voices against those other, awful pedos. 2) The much bigger picture of course, is all these laws attack public education writ large. To allow lawsuits, threats of lawsuits, settlements, threats to teachers leading to a chilling effect on what's taught, teachers leaving because they're disrespected and monitored.... defunds and demoralizes the education system. Obviously, the whole "parental rights" movement ginned up is the master stroke to take the house/senate etc. and beyond. Very cynical, calculating, and I don't know how you defend against the perpetually fearful and outraged, because those emotions are extremely motivating for those who believe that others gaining rights means they lose rights. Y
  20. Only 2 teachers are on the task force, by the way. Total farce. Kentucky has a D governor. Louisiana has a D governor. FFS, Kansas has a D governor. Why are we forever mired with Abbott and his ilk
  21. The new surreal, screwball comedy coming to you this fall on NBC must-see TV, Tuesday nights!
