  1. I can't believe we're going to reelect this person. There's no one better in this state???
  2. Not sure of Barry, but I believe that "Muskrat Love" by Captain & Tenille has been removed due to the risk of influencing further zoonotic diseases
  3. Agree, to me the decision was a no-brainer under separation of powers. I will be interested to see the opinions that come out on the motion for rehearing -- there will be side opinions. Anyway, I was really referring to whether the judges ever start to regret being on team R with all the threats etc. coming from their own team. Again, lol.
  4. these threads are practically unreadable now with Bravo & gang. No contributions of substance, just shit-flinging
  5. I know for a fact that the judges and their staff at the Court of Criminal Appeals have been receiving threats, as they consider the motion for rehearing in the case ruling that AG can't unilaterally prosecute "election fraud." Wonder if it makes any of these Republicans pause and take stock of life choices.... ha ha
  6. yep.... my lil street
  7. Across Burnet from El Mercado, there's a garage behind a pest control and plumbing business on the other side of the gas station. That's 2300.
  8. isn't this the guy who wants Fauci to stop working...no actually, he advocated ambushing him with a kill shot. No consequences. None.
  9. that dog sure looks like he needs a hug
  10. London Grammar.... so talented, but the music can evoke strong depressive emotions. Singer has the voice (and face) of an angel. This one resonates with me personally: edit: damnit, the incredibly evocative video can't be seen anymore for some weird reason. Fucking brilliant song ... here's a live version that seems to take the I-talians aback
  11. This....does not seem good. Ugh
  12. Didn't see a mention of this one: https://www.austintexas.gov/news/homicide-investigation-2300-pasadena-dr Right on the end of my street, walked the dog by there right after and saw all the cop cars and crime scene tape. APD didn't release their "for immediate release!" bulletin until 12 days after the crime, 2 days after the guy died. Suspect unknown, apparently... so good work on the delay. Coincidentally, I also frequently walk my dog through that apartment complex/parking lot at Burnet/Anderson where the double murder happened...starting to wonder if the common link is me. Or my dog....
  13. it's just like a zombie movie, damn
  14. Are you my friend called Larry? Larry told me that people in the jackin' booths would often take all of their clothes off, every last stitch, before getting down to business. Seems unnecessary. Anyway, Pleasureland carried my favorite title ever, the elegantly simple "Sack Lunch."
  15. Holy shit that article about Ginni Thomas. That whole deal is just outrageous. JFC
  16. Serious comment: get KN94's. No appreciable filtering difference from 95's, they have good fit and coverage, and are just a hell of a lot easier to wear. The shape makes breathability way better. It's been our daily go-to for school and no complaints from my kid. Pro tip: get kid's size, in black, and they don't even look ugly or weird. Obviously check to make sure you don't get counterfeits.
  17. Right--I don't think it matters, it'll go red no matter what. They know that, they've thought it through. Olds and rurals everywhere will be able to get their votes in, in sufficient numbers regardless. What's happening unchecked is catastrophic for the majority of Texans who live in urban/suburban places, in terms of having a representative vote.
  18. Open the photo and look toward the bottom: "Appliances (i.e., toasters)"
  19. The facts at least support prosecuting for an attempt at the offense.
  20. I'm convinced that death and/or incapacitation of Trump and all these minions = our only hope at this point. Feeling very ledgey.
  21. THIS. Congress delegated the power, nothing in the mandate exceeds a reasonable reading of that delegation in light of unprecedented circumstances, and testing allows for a workaround. SCOTUS is going full-on disingenuous in its outcome-determinative analyses. Not saying the liberal wing doesn't do outcome-determinative reasoning, but this gutting of exec action as delegated by Congress is judicial activism that stands in conflict with the principles conservative judges claim to stand for.
  22. Obviously it depends on the statute defining the offense.... but here's a reminder that we sent a lady to prison for "illegal voting" in Texas when she said and presumably believed she was eligible, was offered a provisional ballot to fill out because she wasn't on the rolls, she filled it out, and it was never counted.
  23. It's just nuts to me that we have someone on the Court (in place of RBG, no less) who has said that legal careers are simply a means to an end to building the Kingdom of God. Very impartial, eh
  24. So apparently APH now has an email to which you can report positive home tests: epireporting@austintexas.gov
