  1. Exhibit Z in proving that the lives of girls and women < the lives of zygotes and feti. I'm sure "feti" is incorrect but I like it
  2. Gaetz all in on the "dopes and babies" Trump train. Disgraceful.
  3. what a sad sack, dopey looking tree.
  4. I've come to the conclusion that George P Bush is on my radar as one of the world's most punchable faces
  5. I have worked next to the Capitol for a couple of decades and I've never seen them restrict any group from assembling on the steps/front like that. Seems like a legit First Amendment issue.
  6. who said she isn't going to be a Trump bootlicker though? Seems to be a requirement
  7. Fucking THIS. I can't believe McCaul is my rep, living in north central Austin and sharing constituency with KATY voters.
  8. I missed this quote from Abbott somehow "Everyone who’s been trying to make a big deal out of the power grid over the past two days I found were the exact same people who called me a Neanderthal” for fully reopening Texas. "They were hoping there would be a power failure."
  9. They sure like their Sandusky in Ohio.
  10. And the hardest state to vote in the country. Coincidence ?
  11. I hear there are a whole lot of other jobs available. Find some other profession in which to be an entitled cretin.
  12. Yep....I remember a motorcycle cop screaming at me because I had tried to take the first exit off I-35 so we wouldn't both be killed.
  13. Dogs in serious pain and discomfort = bad.
  14. Those dog pics give me a sad. No more please
  15. ^^^ Exactly what a neighbor told me when my son's bike got stolen a couple of weeks ago.
  16. Sure -- I can have his ass sit home all day long while we try to work and he has nothing to do but video games and numbs his mind and body even more than he already has done for the last year. Or we can take the risk. It's not a great position to be in. He needs some summer fun and activity badly.
  17. So I come to find out that the instructor of the summer camp my kid will attend for 3 weeks starting next week -- has declined to get vaxxed. My kid has been in his karate program for years and we always knew he's kind of Trumpy. But that's total bullshit. Running a camp with kids too young to get the shot and you're letting yourself be a vector? Unsurprisingly, I've never seen him wear a mask either, despite talking up distancing, safety, and shit. Guess I should talk to him about what safety measures he's doing but it's pretty much too late to try to talk some sense into him. And this is a guy who's damned near lost his business due to the pandemic. And lives with his super-high risk mother (oh she's too high risk to get the shot! Hurr durr). JFC. And my son will need a negative Covid test for us to go on our vacation right after those 3 weeks so I'm kinda pissed.
  18. it's a "movement" all right
  19. Straight up lying while not even keeping a straight face because they know they can get away with it.
  20. This is my Dad. 100% has always been this way and would never vote for a D, no matter what just because of this "low taxes" selfish, short-sighted smokescreen. I have to believe he really digs the racism too, though.
  21. So wait...the article on Manchin says he doesn't even support HR1, period ?? Why didn't he just run as an R to begin with, he's effectively as obstructionist as Moscow Mitch
  22. This shit is why I'm firmly on the ledge now. It's simply unsustainable for a democracy. It's damned near impossible for Democrats to gain or hold the Senate with the shitty white states no one lives in getting as much representation. And this time we did it (I say "we" as those who oppose the party of autocracy), and it was a fucking Herculean effort combined with some luck and Trump's abject stupidity and incompetence. But even then, a majority Senate vote isn't enough for the party who has to overcome every fucking obstacle like Senate, Electoral College, voter suppression, and R gerrymandering that SCOTUS says is all good. And 2 who are "on our side" won't do the one rules thing so that anything can get done by the party that has a massive more amount of popular support than the other party but is likely to lose out next time around due to said institutional obstacles. So what's the point? If D leadership can't or won't whip the Synemas and Manchins in line like Mitch seems quite able to do, we're done. Quite simply done as a democracy.
  23. But what is Manchin's thinking behind using such extreme rhetoric about the filibuster...the kind of inflammatory shit that he won't be able to walk back...unless he truly is a lost cause who won't budge.
