How's the Dunkin' Donuts boycott going? Did they bankrupt DD yet for the crime of...checks notes...not advertising on Twitter?

My Maga loving in-laws in Philly are gonna be so conflicted.  They love some Dunkin.

Switching to shitty gas station coffee to own the libs.

No. But at that point no one knew that he was going to literally break all the rules to debate. He lied seemingly every time he opened his mouth. He talked over her, and was extremely childish. I just think she struggled to get her message across and he was a complete disruption.

She was a policy nerd and smug af. Too many words. Same shit Biden tried to pull. You really have to dumb it down vs Trump (and for idiot Americans, and shitty legacy media) and just keep to short brutal responses to his bullshit. "He is lying again; it's all he's good for; over and over."

You can't bring facts to a debate with a toddler about whose the best Pokémon or Sesame Street character.

  3. Was chatting with my cousin-in -law at a gathering in the East Bay. He was always a cool, progressive guy.  College degree, teaches, volunteers, coaches swim in his spare time.

He has gotten so angry.  Went on several rants; especially Cali politics. Then asked if I liked Joe Rogan and gushed about how big a fan he was.

I kind of softly said that I was concerned that Rogan gives way too much platform to absolute kooks; but does have interesting guest.  Then I said I was up in the corn hole tournament and dipped out.

There is no talking to these wackos.  He unlocks "secret information" and "seeks knowledge".  The problem is Neil Tyson Degrasse and a crazy lunatic get equal "no way; wow!" enthusiasm from this human thumb that has gotten kicked in the head a few to many times.

The dude that got paid to make people do gross shit whilst stoned to the bone is a leading influencer of thought and policy for a lot of people. It's fucked.

My trim guy too. Total stoner, super progressive, married to a total hippie chick and was literally a student in High School student of Walz back in Minnesota. Has a lot of questions about Harris/ both sides/ trust Rogans opinion.

    Wtf

Fuck yeah I do.  Already ordered.  I'll be in the sunflower patches hammering late-season dove when it shows up, wearing it with fucking pride.

Yes.  A Democrat, wearing a camo hat, with my gun, that I've owned and known how to shoot my whole damned life.  How you like them apples, you weird incel GQP fuckers?

Directions to said sunflower patch? And gate code also.

I have 5 cases of dove loads in 12 guage and a case of 20 guage if you need them.

They are both ultra fucking weirdos who only vaguely resemble human beings. There is  ZERO chance it wont be the cringeworthy thing you've seen in months. If its just the two of them left unchaperoned, the sky is the limit on weirdness:

Q:"Whats going on, what did I miss?"

A: "Not much, just watching two weird men scissor"

Whose doing the interviewing? Elon? Or will they both just ramble on top of eachother.  Will Elon spark a joint? Will they snort drugs? Will Trump shit talk him to his face?

Gonna be nuts.  TheThrilla of Vanilla

When I think West Coast vibe I think Tim Walz 🙄

really really disappointed with Trump this cycle. Low energy. Not even putting minimal effort into his nicknames and insults

I feel like he's confusing Vance with Walz.

Because that all sounds like a perfectly fair criticism of His VP. Bay Area tech bro; gtfo out of midwest asap; only returned to fuck over rubes (after he's done with the couch)

and also, as our resident francophile, i am sick of french lit being the go-to replacement of lesbian underwater basket weaving for addlepates that want to devalue and diminish the value of a well-rounded society and humanities in education.

why my boys stendhal, balzac, proust, zola, flaubert, camus, hugo, dumas, and gide have to always get dragged into this shit...i will never understand.

if we are being honest though, it would be a better threadjack than burgers in the urban meyer thread or the cheese puns in the cesspool that is the recruiting forum.

    Hu huh you said dumas.

It’s frightening how fast shit is moving with online activism and engagement.  A week ago no one knew who Walz was and Joe Biden was still running for a second term. I love the enthusiasm and all but after a week of a few media spots, the online consensus is to make this little known Governor from Minnesota one heartbeat away from the presidency.

Maybe it’s a fever because things were looking so dark 180 hours ago, maybe it’s for the best, maybe it’s democracy…

He's an older white male with a fully functioning brain and little risk of dementia.  Sold upgrade if True.  Bonus he has empathy and doesn't hate our country.

What you get with Walz, Pete, and Brashear is an actual populist approach to problem solving (in the sense of putting the interests of the common folk first, not in the sense of demagoguery) as opposed to these poseur, elitist fucks like

    Vance (Yale)

    Cruz (Princeton / Harvard)

    Cotton (Harvard/ Harvard)

    Desantis (Yale / Harvard)

    Hawley (Stanford / Yale)

    Kennedy (Oxford)

There are vast numbers of people out there hurting and looking for the real deal, and it’s easy to see that Walz et al are; especially after going on 10 years of ersatz

If the dems pick any of them (Walz would be my first choice) and really lean into that tack, I think they win going away and flip the house easily

Same- he's the non shitty- bizarre world Sarah Palin only in that he's white and folkey.  Brings a healthy element of Americana charm to a "urban" hell-hole (Bay Area) ticket.

I finally got my mom out to Cali a couple of years ago and it completely revamped her mind in regards to all the hate radio she consumed for 30 years. Oh shit people farm here, and rodeo, and cut trees down, and go to wild spaces that are beautiful. And the people are nice Americans.  It took my southern ass to convince her it was a worthwhile vacation spot plus meeting my in-laws.

Showing that we are a big tent party and not a party of minorities and LBGQT Exclusively matters.

everytime the messaging is about how well the stock market is doing, I wonder if there is a lack of realization of just how many Americans do not actively participate in the stock market and aren't sitting down watching their 401K rise. It's this is what I spent in 2021 to buy bread, this is what I spend now. A difficult needle to thread, but sometimes it comes across as being dismissive of lived experiences

I'm wondering if the response needs to be, "You know what doesn't fix inflation? Tax cuts for the super wealthy. That's the Trump solution. It's not even their solution. It's just their goal."

And Tarrifs. That should be explained simply along side The Chips Act. You want inflation? Ham handed Tarrifs from a man that doesn't understand what they even are is a sure fire way to spike inflation bigly.
