1. Terrible strategy. Gotta create a little more distance. Make a circle around the house, or just run up the street and then back down it. Never seem him make a tackle in the open field, so should be pretty easy to juke.
Well, I guess this struggle will enter my weird dream cycle at some point, thanks for the tips I guess...

2. Yeah.  I'm a gun owner.  Shotguns, AR-10,AR-15 a few handguns and some bolt action long guns.  But yeah there are gun owners I know that kind of freak me out.  I know a guy that constantly practices drawing while watching TV.  Another insists that he brings his AR with him in his trunk even when going to the grocery store.  His thought is he can fight back to the car to get his rifle.  Like I understand the world is a dangerous place but damn it's not like you are living in Fallujah or something.
I've know quite a few of these guys in my life. They never got to pew pew a bad guy, despite fantasizing and fretting about it for decades. One dude had 15 hidden pistols in his house. They dead Shoulda worried about thier health and eased up on the booze.
3. My absolute favorite place in Omaha is Mercury. Great drinks, playful menu that they change up. Amazing burger.

Also enjoyed
Plank Seafood
M's Pub
801 Chophouse.

Crecent Moon is pretty good, but I've had better Ruebans. Last year we lucked into a Polish fest next door that was a fucking blast. All locals. Made friends with several groups and hung out with them later in the week. Our Air BNB had someone else staying there so we walked towards the music. End up getting a nicer spot downtown after someone from the swimming nationals didn't qualify. Pure luck or we would have been staying at a shithole 20 miles away.

Bars:
Wicked Rabbit

Laka Lona Rum Bar is a great Tiki Bar

Don't be afraid to look at places outside Old Market. It will be more locals, less crowded and less SEC fans drooling on you. Tons of other great spots I'm forgetting.

Omaha is surprisingly small and easy to get around The city bikes are clutch; we uses them to get everywhere except the airport. Roll right up to the stadium and avoid the Uber cluster fuck. Just get the E bike assist ones. We found lots of cool spots.

The Zoo is okay.
Really enjoyed the art museum.

4. This is the real concern with masks. You see a chick with captivating eyes wearing a mask and you think she is all that, and then you see her without one and you realize that there is a reason we aren't solely attracted to their eyes.

Ah, but I am attracted to girls with nice eyes. Big time.

I might have had my lady friend wear a mask for some role play fun a few times during the pandemic if I'm fully honest. I had no idea that was my jam prior to 2020.

Banner couple of years for people dating with jacked up grills I'd imagine. You can be full on Hee Haw and pass in polite society.

5. That’s crazy but the whole thing is

Good for those people doing their jobs. The stories in 20 years will be interesting once it all comes out

It’s amazing how close we came to an insurrection/coup

I like your optimism that we will have "stories" in 20 years or any form of history that is not unbiased propaganda. That would be nice, to allow academia to do thier job unfettered.
6. Tucker will have an episode in the next week where he asks if 5 year-olds are being told to go suck the dicks of other 5 year-olds, and he's going to say "I don't know, this is a very distasteful subject so I am not going to look into it, but I just know people are saying that, so we need to ask the question of whether they are or not."
I'm anti death penalty, pacifist peace dork, and I'd like to beat that mother fucker to death with my bare hands .*

*Born To Run is playing a character and is not credible or believable in what he says.

True, but I'd like to rip his arm out of the socket and beat the fuck out of him with his own appendage.*

7. I did not lose one hair through my chemo treatment.  Nerve damage? Yes.  Hair loss? Not. A. Single. Hair.
I hope you kicked Cancer's ass and we defeat Florida in a National Title Game Soon.

Counter point, everyone I've know to have cancer, lost all or most of thier hair. Luckily it's been a minute since a homie got that call.
8. lots of "masks in school = child abuse" folks from the past couple of years just really not giving a fuck about children as it turns out
My kid was in AISD. Those kids adapted just fine, enjoyed life, and thrived while wearing masks. I would often have to remind my kid he could take his mask off after a few minutes into our commute home. He's not a big ol sensitive ball sack nor are his peers. It wasn't that big of a deal. They don't care that much. Sure My kid is happy to be mask free, sure the chick he kinda crushed on has a jacked grill and looks better masked, Sure Some kids still wear masks and nobody gives a fuck. They are largely kind supportive and go about thier business.

These junk peeping so you can play an amateur sport , culture war starting weirdos need hobbies. Kids are resilient with support.

9. Johnny Sack is referring to a common meme floating around and being shared by the gun-nuts on social media. Of course it's just another attempt at getting your eyes off the real problem.

This is disgusting, disingenuous and completely on brand.

I own a Belgian made Browning BAR in 7 mag. It's semi auto with a 4 round capacity. I'm sure I could get a larger magazine for it and destroy the accuracy of my barrel. 3 hogs in one session us plenty thanks. It's an extremely lethal round, far more damaging than 223.

But it's not the same.
This is fucked up to even say, but its less ideal than even a pistol for killing small children. ARs fit the fetishism of these sick fucks, are often fitted with scopes for closer ranges, are designed to rapidly fire at moderate ranges even by untrained shooters. My kid was nailing targets at 11 years old with an AR. Low recoil, and let's again not discount fetishism and the "cool factor" of these weapons. They look like weapons of war and are utilized by sick fuckers wanting to wage war on innocents.

Are they fun? Sure. Is that fun worth the costs? Fuck no.

10. I don’t want to derail the thread but I don’t see how loose Fritos corn chips constitute more of a pie “crust” than French fries (or “frites”). I’d say Cincinnati chili is closer to Texas chili than Frito pie is to actual pie. I don’t think they refer to it as a pie in Italy but in Chicago it’s more of a casserole. I think calling pizza a “pie” is an American phenomenon.
I’ve seen recipes from winners of Texas chili contests that included cinnamon. Also chocolate. Cincinnati chili also includes allspice, a main ingredient in jerk seasoning, and cloves (not too much). Is cinnamon really that far off from cumin? Take away the cloves from Cincinnati chili and replace it with cumin and you might get fooled.
There’s a thread on the Food & Travel board that mentioned the Spaghetti Warehouse. I don’t know if they served it down there but up here the menu had Spaghetti with Beer Chili Sauce. It was basically a 3-way with more traditional chili. Pasta, chili, topped with shredded cheddar cheese.
And since I’ve already gone way over the line, why stop now? Back when I was living in the dorms at OSU, they used to occasionally serve what was essentially Frito pie. They called it “Texas Straw Hat.” And then sometime in the late ‘00s they tried selling actual “Frito pie” at the basketball arena where they would serve you a little bag of Fritos with chili dumped inside. But that only lasted for a couple years.
Please accept my apologies for the diversion. I have no defense. But there you have it. I could’ve gone further out of line. (Notice that I didn’t post a single pic of the Cincinnati chili I cooked up after the Super Bowl.)
I'll be up in Cincy in two weeks. I'll try anything once. Where should I go and what should I order?
11. Wild high elevation trout have such a short feeding season they usually slam anything you set on the water. I can definitely attest to that.

Usually they’re not too big (10” max) for the same reason.
Dumb, young and full of fun.

I always carry a Tenkara or 3 weight travel rod on backpacking trips with a small box of dry flies
Usually pays off, the one time I don't bother I regret it with a high alpine lake or stream with constant rises and starving dumb fish. That's much worse than carrying gear I don't use because it's too dry or Intel was off.

12. I’m done.

Basically all I have heard from the gun buts who don’t actually understand the 2nd amendment is:

I am all for more restrictions on guns!!!!1!1!1!

But since I absolutely can not vote for anyone than Dan Patrick, white washed Cruz and hot wheels, fuck your kids. Now, let’s go ban some books because of faggots!!
Same, I told a buddy of mine, with three grade school kids, the other day: "well it's statistically unlikely you ever have to deal with this."

That's the best we have. "Well consider how many schools we have, it's going to happen, just not likely to you."

That's our response.
Nothing is changing, in fact we will likely further relax gun laws in response. We have so far.
13. Thing is, we all are like, yessir, when it comes to having a plug in our guns to limit them to three shots for birds.   But for humans, nah fuck that, no limits!
And those fast flying Teal or shot out WW Dove haul fucking ass. Terrified kids, not so much. It's all so fucking bizarre.
