  1. This. I have the uncanny ability to not be able to stay awake on an airplane. As soon as I feel the plane rotate on our takeoff roll, I'm out. After my 3rd deployment the then wife/now ex and I flew to Thailand for vacation. Wheels up out of Denver and I'm out. Woke up about 90 mins before touchdown in Tokyo for our layover/plane change. She was piiiiiiiiiissed off.
  2. Guns, Girls, Gin, Glenfiddich, Guiness, Gyros, Goulash, and Grilled Cheese.

  9. This. Made me giggle. There was a few things about the movie that left a bit to be desired. Like Freddie announcing to the band that he had AIDS before LiveAid. In fact, he was diagnosed in 1987 (and unofficially in 1986), which was a full year plus after LiveAid. The (onscreen) turmoil about Freddie doing the solo albums seemed a bit disingenuous, since Brian May had already had a solo/side project (the forgettable Star Fleet Project, with Eddie Van Halen, if you can believe that) and Roger Taylor already had 2 solo albums in 1981 and 1984. It also seems that Paul Prenter was made out to be much more of a dickhead in the movie than he was in real life. He was still a jackass, having outed Freddie to the Sun Tabloid in '87, but just not to the level presented in the movie. All that said, I was still very entertained by the movie, and really really enjoyed it. The LiveAid performance part had me actually forgetting I was watching a movie and believing that I was really watching LiveAid.
  10. They took the bar! THE WHOLE FUCKING BAR!!!
  11. Good way to get your garage door/front door/car/driveway slathered in condiments.

  13. At least she had the guts to admit it.
  14. My daughter's had some issues in class lately. Sorta documented in another thread. I just got an email from her teacher saying she's seen definite improvement in her focus and concentration in class. Teacher has "seen her trying a lot harder and caring about the work she does in school". I've been sitting here at my desk crying for the last 5 minutes. So proud of that kid. A little embarrassed about it, but goddamn proud too. No apologies for that.
  15. Having a good day. I had some above average morning sex with my girlfriend, I just won a $1.03 million bid, I'm sitting at my desk eating some warmed up Moroccan Chicken with couscous, and I got an email from my kids teacher saying she's seen definite improvement in my daughters concentration in class. Nothing overwhelming, nothing unusual. Just a good day.
  16. But it's so damn hot..... Milk is a bad choice.
  17. Especially because He should be coming in a Honda. Which He doesn't brag about much. John 12:49 - For I did not speak of my own Accord....
  18. Son, you don't know whether you're shot, fucked, powder-burnt or snake-bit. ( I know that was spoken to a different character, it's still one of my favorite lines in the whole damn movie.)
  19. Unless you-TUBE (thanks Briscoe) is playing tricks on my, I love how his tongue is hanging out the side of his mouth when he's falling off the board. Laughed so hard I snorted.
