  1. Does anyone else think it's weird that Tucker has been out so long with a bruise? Are they just resting him or is it a more serious injury than they let on?
  2. Yes, for sure.
  3. It used to be fun, but the last couple of times have been...really not fun. Sucks that it's something I can't enjoy. But I think I've learned my lesson and I'm pretty much where you've landed.
  4. Unfortunately, this was self-induced. Smoked some pot after years and years of not. Didn't know how strong it was or anything. So dumb. Basically initiated my worst living nightmare. It was very hard to get a hold of myself. I'm still sort of quivering about it. In my nightmare, talking about it is some sort of damning admission, which made the whole thing worse because I felt I couldn't talk to anyone about it.
  5. Having some fucked up anxiety mixed with OCD runaway thoughts. Sucks. Need someone to tell me I'm not going fucking crazy.
  6. Did it stop dripping? Do you have a two story house? I learned something at our last house. The AC drain line ties into the drain system for the rest of the house, usually at upstairs sinks. If you look at the plumbing under those sinks you might see a Y fitting with a hose attached to it. This is where the AC drain line ties in. Several times I found that sediment would clog that Y fitting and even if I blew out an obstruction it would still fill up because the clogs were still there at those Y fittings. So I removed the pipe clamps and took a screwdriver and reamed out the fitting to clear it. Voila.
  7. So he wasn't an international gangster, but was he the serial check skipper? I wasn't clear about that.
  8. He is 8.
  9. I saw a guy at a washers tournament with no arms and he had burn scars over most of his body. He had mechanical claws for hands and I'll be damned if he wasn't really good at washers. I found out what happened to him - he was powerwashing a building near an electrical relay station and either backed into a hot transformer or made contact with the sprayer. Either way, it fucked him way up.
  10. Thanks. Really appreciate the insight and offers for help. I actually didn't know about the county-provided resource. Is it for people over 18 who still need services?
  11. Another update since it's been a while and others might benefit from our experience. We ended up enrolling our son in a private school for kids with behavioral problems. When we went to tour it the situation was a bit jarring. We could hear a kid raging out in a special room they have for such episodes; a couple of kids came up to us and just started talking to us about random stuff. They were nice, but it was socially awkward. That said, the administrator was great and when we toured the school our son really seemed at ease and liked it. At the end, uncharacteristically, he gave the administrator who gave us the tour a hug. His reaction to the school, our perception of it, their resources and professionalism and approach, plus our own research and conversations with other parents who either had their kids there or knew someone who did all led to us enrolling him. He started a few weeks into the fall semester last year. They told us that the first month or so was going to be tough, but that he would eventually get more comfortable. That is exactly what happened. He would do the same things he'd done before - cuss, scream, try to run out of the classroom, hit people - but the teachers were trained for this type of thing and all of the kids there were like that so they had a ton of experience dealing with it. They had basically perfected methods to address his exact types of behaviors. So even though at first his behavior wasn't better, the school was able and willing to deal with it and we didn't get calls or have to go pick him up or sit with him. It was a huge relief for my wife and me. The downside? Tuition is $40K/year. We made the decision that he would go to that school no matter what because it was so clearly what he needed. Our son even told us later that his life changed (for the better) when he started at the new school. Hearing that made all of the sacrifice worth it. Fast forward. We got a recommendation from our pediatrician to take him to a pediatric neurologist. We did and they ordered some additional testing. The result? High-functioning autism. My wife cried when we got that diagnosis. I was surprised she did. After everything I had learned, I was expecting it and wasn't surprised or upset by it at all. If anything, I was relieved to get an even clearer picture of what my son has and how to deal with it. We've also changed his meds because the Abilify made him gain a lot of weight. So he's on low dosages of Lexapro and Vyvanse. His behavior overall is better, but he still has many, many episodes. He still melts down and cries and screams when things don't go a certain way. He still does socially unacceptable shit; mainly cussing. During the spring semester at the private school he showed strong progress, both behaviorally and academically. He was able to do more academic work and progress because he was trained by the teachers how to cope when he got frustrated. He's still behind, but he's made a lot of progress. He can read, but it's probably not at grade level. Because of the cost of the school we had to sell our house and move to a smaller, less expensive house. I resisted that as long as we could, but ultimately it was the decision we had to make. It was still hard for me, but now that we've actually moved it's really not so bad. I've actually kind of enjoyed the change of scenery. Over time the lack of financial stress will also probably prove that the decision was totally worth it. I guess the takeaway I would have for anyone starting to deal with this is that it has taken us A LONG time to get to a place, with a diagnosis and medication and the right school, where we can actually live our lives without total anxiety and misery. It's been like five years or so since all of this started.
  12. This exact same fucking thing happened to me. Except I actually went down to the garage where there is a small cabinet with all of the PEX valves in it. I wanted to make sure the valve to the kitchen was on as a place to start. It was on.
  13. As previously stated, we moved recently and we're still getting all of our furniture in place. Yesterday we worked on the living room. For reasons, we have to base the orientation of everything off the TV. So I measured from a sidewall to the middle of the TV so that I could match the mid point of all of the furniture parallel to the TV to the midpoint of the TV. I would hand her the end of the tape measure and ask her to hold it to the wall. Her: "I don't understand why we are measuring from this wall." I explained it like three times. She never got it. Then, when we were actually moving chairs and shit, I got on the front side of a recliner we had to move. Instead of going to the opposite side of the chair from me, she got on the side, right next to me and got down ready to lift it. I was just like, "WTF are you doing?" Her: "What? (and tone)" Me: "When I get over here to move something, you get over there." Between my wife and kids and all the shit they seemingly don't know that I have to tell them, I honestly can't believe any of them are alive.
  14. Is this supposed to be me imploring her to come over to the couch for sex? If so, BLLLAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
  15. Answer: No. Never.
  16. NSIAP - This guy's backstory is funny too. He got into shooting after a bitter divorce. (Major red flag, if you ask me.) Supposedly, during the medal ceremony he said, "Ex Wife, if you are watching this, I want me dog back." Dude is bitter AF if true. Not sure getting into shooting is the most constructive way to blow off that steam, but he hasn't killed her yet.
  17. I thought we should have done nothing, personally. Fans always clamor for additions. We gave up way too much for Kikuchi when we have SPs coming back from injury and our farm is already light.
  18. I don't know how long she was with this particular boyfriend. He was a bouncer at Stubb's and worked nights so it's not even necessarily true that he was a lazy piece of shit just because he was laying on the couch at 5 p.m. She and I have been together for 18 years, married for 15.
  19. Every day for us right now my wife and I have to coordinate who takes what kid to which camp, who picks them up, what we're doing with the dog that day, etc. Yesterday she was able to take all three kids to camp in the morning because she had the day off. I didn't have anything on the calendar at work until an 11:30 meeting so I decided to chill at home for the morning. We just moved and we have boxes of shit all over the house so I have a ton of shit to do. I unpacked a few boxes, organized a few things then ate breakfast, made a cup of coffee and laid down on the couch to read the news on my phone. My wife came home around 10 and saw me on the couch. She got all pissed off and said, "I took all of the kids to camp this morning so you could just go into work without worrying about anything. I wish you would have told me you weren't going to the office this morning." I just looked at her and didn't say a word, went upstairs to take a shower and get ready to go into the office for my meeting. Later, she texted me that she was sorry she got angry, but the reason she did is that she had a boyfriend one time who was a lazy piece of shit and she worked her ass off and would come home to him laying on the couch all the time. I own and run my own business, work an average of 55 hours a week and have an income at or near the top 5% in the U.S.
  20. Hmmm...I thought he'd be a San Francisco treat.
  21. Well, the move is officially completed. Cleared the last bits out of the old house yesterday evening. Something notable happened: My wife kept telling me that the cable company needed us to take our existing modem to the new house for installation. I wondered why she kept telling me this. Finally, we're down to the very last things to take and she said it again. So I asked her, "Are you wanting me to go get it for you?" (I was busy moving heavier, outdoor-type shit.) She replied, "Will you just come upstairs with me where it is?" The lightbulb went off. "Do you not know what the modem is?" She didn't answer. So we go upstairs to the closet where the hub is. I immediately grabbed the modem, which said "Xfinity" on it (we have Xfinity as our provider). I unscrewed the cable and handed it to her. The other choices of objects that could have been the modem (she obviously was unsure which of these items was the modem) were an AT&T modem that was not plugged in to anything and that had been left over from the previous owner and had been sitting on the shelf in the closet for seven years. And this:
  22. I'll save you the suspense. A bunch of shit is not ready, Ojo flies around making shit happen, I speak some truth to the wife, Ojo gets no pussy for a month. The end.
  23. Update on the move: Moving day is Saturday. We have spent the last month or so preparing - giving shit away, throwing shit away, wife putting shit on FB marketplace, etc. We rented a storage unit to put things we know we will not need right away. Plus, the new place is smaller so some of it might not fit at all. Anyway, time is short. We are at the point where we don't have time to look through everything and make decisions about whether to throw, give, sell, store or move. There is now only one option: move. It cannot stay at our current house. Everything has to be out by Tuesday and 99% of it needs to be ready to go by Saturday morning. So each night of the past week I have been packing boxes, wrapping artwork in blankets, taking shit to the storage unit and the new house. Inevitably I will catch her taking pictures of items and making runs to different charities, leaving shit on our front porch, talking with the people when they come to pick it up - all of which takes precious time. I cannot count the number of times she has asked me the question, "What do you think we should do with this?" (My answer that I don't say: "Put it in a fucking box and move it.") She's fucking exasperated all the time, complaining about how much work everything is, even outside of the move. I think to myself, "Well maybe if you didn't create so much goddamned work for yourself it wouldn't be that bad..." (And she's still trying to move everything at once. There is a huge box in the kitchen with ONE pot in it. She put it in there and moved into another room and started fucking with something else. So we have a shitload of open boxes throughout the house taking up valuable floor space, none of which are fully packed and ready to be moved.)
