  1. This, this, this, fucking this.
  2. csb/Yesterday I was on the phone with a client - female business owner. Very capable and smart woman; a firecracker too. Anyway, her husband has been involved in the business, helping his wife in various ways and probably being a sounding board. So we're talking about this employee that they are letting go and out of nowhere he says, "You know, it's like Trump. Just think of all of the great things he would have done if the democrats had not gotten in his way. (Employee) is just like Nancy Pelosi - preventing us from doing all of these great things with our business." Silence. Then his wife says, "You know, Ojo Rojo is a liberal." I laugh into receiver. I don't talk politics, pretty much with anyone, let alone clients. I used to know this guy. It's obvious to me that he has been infected with brain worms./csb
  3. And this, my friends, is why I will never step foot in Disneyland/world/whateverthefuck.
  4. To the contrary. He should pop a bottle of champagne, having met his life's purpose.
  5. Honestly, at this point they should just shut down the football program and close the university.
  6. Well, we all say that all the time, but it's hyperbole for the lulz. Pussy damn well has been defeated. Patriarchy out front shoulda tol' ya.
  7. Because it's $34M/yr as opposed to $30M. 10/30 is $28M more over the life of the contract, but if he can sign another contract at the end of 8 years, when he's 35, for more than $14M per, then it's the same money over the same period. I admit I have no idea what a 35 y.o. Correa could hope to sign for; if $14M/yr even in the realm of possibilities. Also, I think this team is tight. I think he's got a special relationship with Altuve, and that he might take a little less money to stay. That's probably very naive on my part.
  8. I will never understand people who have so much to lose doing something so stupid to put it all in jeopardy.
  9. Man, it's going to suck to lose Correa. IMO, he's the guy who got this team over the "cheating" scandal. He stood up for everyone in the clubhouse and refused to take any shit from anyone. The team responded. That homer off Joe Kelly earlier this year shows what kind of clutch player Correa is. We need him if we want to keep the window open. 8yrs for 272M, something like that? Verlander and Greinke's money gotta go to somebody, right?
  10. I know he's dead.
  11. I'm usually late to the party and don't discover shit until it's been out for a few years. Just discovered Mac Miller. I'm probably the least likely Mac Miller fan in humanity (old, white, square), but I really like his music.
  12. He's just that kind of a special asshole.
  13. God I hate Joe Kelly. I really wish Marisnick would have charged the mound and beat that ass.
  14. No, not at all. It's this Sunday. Not hanging out with someone because of the college they attended is very...aggy. IDGAF. If they are cool people, they are cool people. OTOH, if they want to talk about ag shit or whatever the whole time it will be the last time we hang out.
  15. csb/My wife was driving through the neighborhood the other day and saw a kid out in front of a house wearing the school uniform for the school where our kids go. So she stopped and asked him if he went to "School X." He said he did. His mom appeared and she and my wife started talking. They exchanged numbers and started texting or whatever. The other mom eventually invited us over for a bbq. My wife took a few days to respond and the other mom eventually texted my wife and asked her, "Are you Longhorns? Did you see my Facebook?" My wife was a little taken aback. Like, why would she ask that? Turns out, she and her husband are both ags and she has ag-related shit on Facebook. She thought my wife saw it and decided against hanging out./csb
  16. I think the odds of re-signing Correa are very low. I hate it, but I think it's probably better for the team med and long term. I'd like to pick up Robbie Ray and Kris Bryant in the offseason to fill the holes we're going to have. Bryant can play third and move Bregman to short. Or play him in the OF or at 1st and let Diaz be your primary shortstop if you keep Bregman at 3B. Your lineup would be (not in batting order): Gurriel/Bryant 1B Altuve 2B Bregman/Diaz SS Bryant/Bregman 3B Brantley LF Meyers/Siri CF Tucker RF Castro/Stubbs C Alvarez DH SPs would be: Ray LMJ Framber Urquidy Odorizzi Luis Garcia Cristian Javier That's a solid 5-man rotation with 2 other SPs pitching out of the pen until needed to start. Who knows about promotions from the minors. Korey Lee at C, especially if we don't re-sign Maldy, Pedro Leon?, Pena?, Whitley? Solomon? Maybe yes? Maybe no? Maybe go fuck myself?
  17. This makes me long for some more Adam Reposa shit.
  18. Bodes well for the future with a Tucker-Meyer-Siri outfield foundation.
  19. First, get 100 billion dollars.
  20. I consider this a good thing. I have other interests. Now I will have more time for them.
  21. Banner year for Darwin awards.
  22. ISWYDT
  23. Right. I meant 1/5 of their 50% interest, which is equal to 1/10 of the total taxes owed on the property.
