  1. Same. I liked it even more when CU, NU, aTM and Misery were in the conference. I would have liked it even more if we had those and WV and TCU after a round of expansion. But, alas. I hate that a lot of the conversation in CFB is about a comparison of conferences. I've always thought that was dumb. The only reason it mattered at all was because of strength of schedule as a measurement for rankings or placement in the playoff. When comparison is such a huge part of determining rankings and playoff contenders, this is what you get. The reason all of this is happening is that there is no centralized power in CFB. The individual universities have all of the power. They organize in conferences, but they retain almost all of the power. The NCAA has no power. The NCAA sucks not because the people who run it are incompetent, but because the member universities have not given it any power. I mean, look at the NCAA men's basketball tournament. It's a huge success and the NCAA has done a great job with it. No reason to think they wouldn't do the same with football, if given the chance. The result of all of this could be good, bad or indifferent. Personally, I don't like the direction it's going. Too much about money; too little about other things that separated it from the pro game. On the other hand, it's hard to watch everyone involved except the players profit handsomely while they work their asses off and make huge sacrifices to provide the product on the field. Ironically, if the universities wanted to control player compensation, conference realignment and all the rest of it, the answer is that they would need to give up control to a central authority with the power to make and enforce rules consistent with the current law (or future laws that entity lobbies into existence) and dictate conference membership. I don't think having regional conferences with equal numbers and balanced for competition as well as an expanded playoff would make CFB more NFL in a bad way. Having CFB organized similarly to the NFL would not take away the things (students, bands, on-campus stadiums, traditions, rivalries, not playing for money) that make CFB different from the NFL (and better, in my opinion).
  2. I hate this, but it's inevitable. I feel like an old man where I hate change and everything new. The only thing I do like about this is the aggy tears.
  3. Abandoning their identity would be the best thing that ever happened to them.
  4. Either she has a testicle or that's majora.
  5. I hate off days.
  6. Is there really any speculation? It's always the same thing - coach pretends like there is a real competition, but it's already been decided, even before Sark got here. Thompson will start the season based on age and experience. Card will ride the pine until Thompson sucks or gets hurt. That's it.
  7. This feels like a situation where I need more context because it just can't possibly be that simple. But then again, maybe it is.
  8. Shit. Just snapped out of a trance where I think I watched this for an hour. Alyssa Milano meets Tara Reid with a hot cheer bod? I'll take two, Utah.
  9. I would just like to put this down for posterity. Trump World made up false allegations of election fraud. Complete, utter, total lies and fabrications with absolutely no proof and, in fact, every legal case raising election fraud has been laughed out of court. Now, based on these same demonstrably false voter fraud allegations, Republicans nationwide are attempting to create or change laws regulating voting to suppress Democratic votes. As a "response" to voter fraud that never happened!!! Fucking maddening.
  10. This is why we can't have nice things. Pump the brakes on that shit, Negative Nancy. Naming the guy "Seven Win Steve" before he's even coached a game here? Nah, man. Why you want to perpetuate the idea that Texas fans are a bunch of entitled whiny bitches? The dude was trying to temper expectations a little bit. Very few people are going to be swayed by that. Changes nothing. No one is going to be satisfied with 8 wins. He knows that. His main point was that he's building for long-term, high-level success. He thinks that requires some foundational things first, before counting win totals. Sure, fine, whatever. Could work. We'll see. But no reason to go all Chicken Little before we've seen a single snap.
  11. Yeah, he's a power bottom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc9_mxvP1K0

  13. You're 10-ply, bud.
  14. The chick from Letterkenny is so hot.
  15. It's only for 2021 and it's not a dole, it's an advance on a tax credit aka a loan.
  16. It's not a huge deal, otherwise I would have opted out. I don't like having debt that I don't want created for me, interest free or otherwise. My main issue with it is that there are a lot of people who are going to think this is free money, when it's not.
  17. This is dumb. We got it today too, but it's an advance on a credit for which we don't qualify. It'll just get deducted from whatever refund we would've gotten so I won't have to write the IRS a check, but still. My wife thinks this is a good thing. I should put that in the Stupid Wives thread.
  18. Haha. My dad didn't have any mags, none that I ever found, anyway, but he did have a VHS tape of some real nasty 70's porn. It was a trilogy about incest called "Taboo."
  19. The funniest of these to me are the ones where dudes try to smoke random shit. I don't know why that's so funny to me. To wit, I once made a pipe out of a 90 degree galvanized pipe fitting and the end of a water hose. Rode my bike a couple of miles on a busy two lane highway in the country at night to go buy Garbage Pail Kids cards at the nearest store. Easily should have been killed. Probably the actual dumbest thing I've ever done.
  20. And then that kid put some dynamite in a lady's mailbox and blew her up, which caused this chain reaction that ended up with the kid's friend with no arms or legs.
  21. All of this throwing rocks at cars stuff, dang. That shit is dangerous. I seem to remember a news story from a year or two ago where four teens were throwing rocks off an overpass at cars and actually killed someone. I think those kids got prison time. I never considered doing that, probably because throwing rocks was verboten in our household ever since a neighbor kid threw a rock and hit my brother in the face with it and my dad almost killed that kid.
  22. My buddy's dad reloaded his own shotgun shells, so he had all the tools and stuff for it, including....gunpowder. We made rocket propelled cars out of pipes and wheels we scavenged off toys. Not sure how close we actually got to making pipe bombs and blowing off our fingers. My buddy's dad was also a machinist so he had a shop full of tools and shit. One time we made Chinese stars out of solder. His dad got pissed when he saw them; apparently solder was expensive. It was soft metal and didn't make very good throwing stars anyway.
  23. Hoo-boy. Let's see, I'll start with this one: The neighbor lady was obese and all of the neighborhood kids made fun of her. One day we were bored and I thought it would be a good idea to fuck with her. So we made this greeting card for her. On the outside it said, "To: Mrs. (Obese Woman's Name). When you opened it up it said on one side, "Fuck you, Jabba the Hutt." On the other side was a picture of a hand shooting the rod. Our story was going to be that we found this note in the road and that it was left by some random person. So we ran over it a few times with our bikes to put tire marks on it and complete the alibi. Obese lady was out mowing her grass on her sagging riding lawnmower. We sent my little brother over to deliver the card. He got about halfway when I panicked. I realized at that moment the whole idea was stupid and that we would be caught and I would end up getting my ass whipped. I screamed at my brother to come back and not give her the card. But it was too late. He couldn't hear me over the mower (or he chose to ignore me, knowing it was my ass). He handed it to her and she opened it and read it. I will never forget the look on her face. Face contorted in anger. She turned red. She immediate got off the lawnmower and started coming to my house. All of the other kids scattered. I ran inside and started pleading with my mom that the neighbor lady was coming over and she was going to accuse me of writing something to her that I didn't do. My mom just said that she would be able to tell based on the handwriting if it was me. Handwriting! Fuck me! Up until that point I hadn't considered I'd be identified by my handwriting! Anyway, mom saw it, admitted it was me and apologized to the fat bitch. Then she sent me to my room for the rest of the day to wait for my dad to get home. I was shitting bricks the whole time, but all he did when he got home was talk to me about why the card was wrong. In truth, I'm sure they both had a big laugh over it.
