  1. Question: Does anyone else's wife do this? Sex is going to happen, but she goes in the bathroom or the closet or both and fucks around and takes a long time to get to it? It feels like she is intentionally making me wait. Dragging it out because she knows she's got me on a string in that moment. Anyone?
  2. This is the best value RC car available on Earth: https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/1-10-granite-voltage-2wd-rtr-brushed-monster-truck-battery-and-charger-included/ARA102727.html
  3. Lighten up, Francis. This move doesn't mean they are tearing it down. It means they are trying to keep the window open and also have good players in the future. We need one more good bat and we'll be fine.
  4. Me. Win in 2025. If not happening, sell him at the deadline.
  5. I think we finished in the top 5 in MLB in ERA and that was after a terrible start to the season, pitching-wise. Offensively, Bregman's slow start contributed to the poor first half record. You don't have to, and can't expect, all stars 1-9 in the lineup. Meyers was ok. Singleton was ok. Chaz had a terrible year. Ideally we need one more quality bat at either LF or 1B.
  6. Nah. Bregman has typically started slow. Next season we would know if we're buying or selling (or holding) by the time Bregman would have gotten his head out of his ass. Pick up a good 3B before the deadline if Whitcomb ain't it if we're a playoff team.
  7. You just have to get to the playoffs; then anything can happen. Last season was fucked by injuries and weirdness. This team still fucks, even without Bregman. If all of our pitchers stay healthy then we have a chance to have the best staff in MLB. You either buy, sell or hold. Crane doesn't give out long, huge contracts. By and large, Crane holds. I don't disagree with that approach. Extend your guys early, let your too expensive soon-to-be-old players walk, build the farm, add free agent pieces. It can work.
  8. Seems like people are missing one important variable in a trade involving Tucker. If you don't trade him, you get him for a season. It's not like we get nothing if we don't trade him. We get a season of him playing on our team. I do worry about the future, but the way this shit cycles, there's no way to keep a window open forever. Frankly, it's a miracle ours has stayed open this long. While your window is open you are either a holder or a buyer. Buying free agents with huge contracts is not the way. You just simply cannot pay your way out of your window closing due to aging and regression. Keep Tucker, let him walk next year. Let Bregman walk. Don't trade Framber. Win the whole fucking thing in 2025. When the window is actually closing, unload every player with value for prospects (except Altuve), lose a fuckton of games and get several years of high draft picks and build it back up from there.
  9. Last Friday night in the Rojo household: Me: Okay, so what's on the schedule for this weekend? Mrs. Rojo: Well, I can't work out because of the procedure I had. (Minor skin procedure.) So I can't go to my normal workout class at 10 on Saturday morning. Me: (*thinking*) Well, that's something that is NOT on the calendar. Mrs. Rojo: And I didn't RSVP in time for the Son #2 friend's b-day party, but I called his mom and she said it was okay. So we have that. Me: (*thinking*) Here we fucking go. Mrs. Rojo: Oldest son wants to spend the night with his friend Saturday night, but I told him he had to ask you. He also wants to go to the movies on Sunday with his girlfriend. I called her mom to see if she was okay with it and she and her husband talked about it and they said it was okay if they were in a group or one of us was with them so I told them I would talk to you about it. I thought we could also go get a Christmas tree before the birthday party on Saturday. Do you think we can get a smaller tree this year since we have a smaller space? Plus, they have just gotten so expensive. There's no CCE on Sunday, so middle child doesn't have that to go to on Sunday morning. Sunday middle child has cub scouts at 3, but it's probably going to be rained out. Oldest has boy scouts at 4 and I need to go to the grocery store. Then we have your work party at 7 but we need to take two cars. Me: (*thinking*) Don't say anything. Don't say anything. Don't say anything. Me: (*thinking*) Seriously, don't fucking say anything. You've learned your lesson on this many, many times. Pretend like nothing is wrong and just converse and clarify cheerfully. Seriously. Me: Well, now I know a bunch of shit that's not on our calendar and I still have no idea what we are actually doing. Me: (*thinking*) Fucking dumbass! Mrs. Rojo: *angrily* Hmph! If you don't want to talk to me, just say so. I swear, every time we talk it's like you get so annoyed with me. From now on I'll just send you a text... Prologue: Ojo doesn't get laid for two weeks.
  10. No, no, no, no, no, fuck no. Don't you get it? You don't have to actually do shit. All you have to do is say you are going to improve the economic fates of the middle class and poor by forcing the billionaires and corporations to pay their fair share of taxes. Scream it into the microphone. And "fixing poverty?" Sheeeit. Those in actual poverty don't vote compared to higher income earners. So it would be a total waste, politically, to devote the resources there.
  11. You are still operating as if the world made sense, people were rational and things weren't totally fucked up.
  12. This + expert marketing. The people doing the marketing are way, way smarter than the people buying shit food.
  13. I don't know what you are supposed to do when the opponent just lobs lie after lie after lie: "Dems want to implement sex changes in schools!" "Dems want to have live birth abortions!" And on and on. You can only say, "No we don't; that's ridiculous." So many times. Nowadays, anyone with a computer can create a headline or quote some nobody that the GOP can point to and say, "See! Yes they do believe in these things!" People of average intelligence should be able to see through this, but they don't because it's not what they want to hear. They want to be on Team America and Team America's message is simple: "Libs bad; own the Libs." The Dem message, or the true one anyway, is nuanced and harder to understand without putting together several layers of facts. Or at least two layers of things that can both be true: "Yes, we support a woman's right to have an abortion. No we do not agree that live birth abortions should be legal." More and more, I think you have to distill everything, dumb it down to the max and then once you are in power implement the policies you really cared about in the first place. Very, very few voters are going to know there is a difference between what you said and what you did.
  14. We missed two field goals and had a shitload of penalties. That's why we lost. Otherwise, we looked like the better team. Smart outcoached Sark in both games, imo.
  15. Nah, fuck it. Lay back and enjoy it. Me? I'm stocked up on buckets of popcorn, ammo and tradeable bullion and my family's passports are all updated.
  16. Jethro somebody, I think.
  17. The reason why this particular issue is different is that Harris was against the sale too. So these guys would not have gotten what they wanted either way.
  18. Wow.
  19. I think there is a way to thread the needle. In our profession, the word for it is "advocacy." Not lies, but an emphasis on what is good for our client and a de-emphasis on what is bad. As I have said before, the Dems need to go to a populist strategy by demonizing the rich and corporations. "The rich and corporations are the reason you don't have more money!" "If you are not making more than $100K per year in this GREAT country, it's because you are being taken advantage of and stolen from by the rich and corporations!" "We'll tax THE FUCK out of both and lower your taxes because that is what is fair and right and what George Washington would have wanted!"
  20. Sorry, dude. This was debunked upthread. The union workers weren't lied to; they were just dumb.
  21. Okay, did a 1 minute review after searching and I retract. Trump did not say during the campaign that he was in favor of the Nippon Steel deal. So the local union guys who feel betrayed by Trump's position weren't lied to, they're just dumb. This also probably doesn't fit the thread since these people were going to get fucked no matter who won.
  22. You. Happy to explain if necessary.(no sarcasm)
