Oh shit I guess I missed out on the Wal-Mart thing. Is that a regular thing they do? Annual? More often?
  2. This is exactly what Gilroy is doing. For those who are interested in deep-dives into how he's thinking about the show, his writing process, etc., I HIGHLY recommend listening to the three interviews he did with The Ringer's "The Watch" podcast. He did one after the initial three episodes aired, one about 3/4 of the way through the season and then one after the finale. You get like around 2 hours total of Gilroy talking in detail about the show. He talked over and over again how his interest isn't with the "royal family" (Skywalkers) and more what "ordinary people" have to do to get a Rebellion going. It's pretty interesting stuff if you have deep interest in this.
  3. Yeah anyone who believes some of these wacky theories hasn't listened to Tony Gilroy talk about the show at all. There is a 0% chance Luthen is a Jedi or Sith or whatever.
  4. She has been president of LucasFilm since 2012. So she's ultimately responsible for literally everything Star Wars since then. But of course in fanboys' hive mind, she gets blamed for everything they hate (sequel trilogy, Boba, Obi-Wan) but none of the credit for everything they love (Mando, Clone Wars, Andor) because... reasons.
  5. Pretty interesting. I don't recall ever seeing that Andor/K2 comic following Rogue One, but (for now) it's officially canon, so it'll be interesting to see how they handle it with Andor Season 2. I could see Star Wars officially removing that comic book from canon so that Gilroy can do whatever he wants with the meeting of Andor and K2, given its importance to the overall story.
  6. Most conventional ovens' lowest setting is 170... that's typically what it hits for the "warm" function.
  7. That guy is a fucking dipshit. Anyone who complains that Andor "nEEdS mOar ACtIOn" either doesn't get the show or hasn't been paying close enough attention. Action/violence doesn't have to be all "pew pew". That scene where Mon Mothma knee-caps her dipshit husband in the back of the car just to create some cover for herself WAS "action."
  8. Wow. What a finale. So perfect. The post-credit Death Star thing was very fan-servicy. I wonder if that was something that Gilroy did or if it was interested after the fact. He said he was going to go back on The Watch podcast after Season 1 was done airing for another interview… looking forward to hearing that. And Season 2 can’t get here soon enough!
  9. Holy shit that’s amazing. It makes me love the show even more.
  10. Yeah and also if you really look into the lore, there always were areas of greater and lesser support of the Empire. The Outer Rim worlds (Tatooine, etc.) were never very supportive of The Empire mostly because they were so far from the Core and many were (more or less) cartel states in a way run by the Hutts. They were basically the Wild West. The Empire mostly left them alone unless there was a really pressing issue... (like the Death Star plans showing up on Tatooine). The "Core" worlds were largely "Empire supportive" with the notable exception of Alderran, which was always considered a known hot-bed of "anti-Empire" sentiment; it was essentially supposed to be like the "Berkley in the 60s" of the galaxy... being the leading voice of opposition on "Empire over-reach." Within the lore, the destruction of Alderran (followed by the Rebel win at Yavin) *was* a key turning point in getting many Core- and Mid-rim worlds to turn against the Empire and either be supportive of or outright join the Rebellion. Yes that was all super fucking nerdy.
  11. FWIW, it wasn't Disney that decided on the 24 episodes, it was Tony Gilroy. He talked about it one of his recent appearances on The Ringer Watch podcast. It was actually Disney that wanted him to do 5 seasons, with it essentially being the 5 years leading up to Rogue One, but after sitting down and talking it through with Diego Luna, they both decided that it was just too much... it would have essentially taken all of Gilroy's time for nearly a decade and it would get harder and harder to age-match Luna to where he was during Rogue One, so they came up with the idea of doing the time jump in season two from 5 years before Rogue One to one year before and just cover that last year leading up to it.
  12. Maybe. But that seems a bit too “clever” for Tony Gilroy and the story he’s telling. I think the dying “off-screen” was meant to sort of convey the fact that Andor missed out on it by being in prison.
  13. One thing I was wondering about… is it possible B2EMO somehow plays a part in what becomes the re-programmed K2SO? Assuming Cassian takes possession of B2 following the events of the finale? Like his “memory” gets implanted in and become the “base” for K2SO once he his captured/re-programmed or something? Probably a little too on-the-nose for Tony Gilroy, but just thought it was interesting that he was B2 and then Andor’s droid later is K2…
  14. Yeah but what happened in our game was that TCU just kept subbing with like 10-12 seconds left on the play clock and then we would sub and Dykes was losing his shit because the refs literally weren’t just letting them snap it as soon as THEY were ready even though we had guys running on/off the field. After Dykes whined and cried about it all first half, the refs literally started letting them snap it without any delay in the second half. It was literally not giving us a chance to sub when they did. Fucking dipshit refs.
  15. Sonny Dykes can gargle my fucking balls. Matt Campbell used to me the most irritating coach in the Big 12 to me with his sideline temper tantrums, but Sonny Dykes took it to the next level in our game earlier this year when he basically threw a crying shit fit with the refs because he doesn't understand how the defensive substitution rule works... so much so that the dipshit refs started essentially actively not letting us sub on defense when they would sub on offense with like 10 seconds left of the play clock. I'm assuming he was doing that late offensive subbing Mickey Mouse shit at SMU and none of the other coaches were smart enough to hold their subs until he subbed late, thus causing a delay of game on the offense. So when Gundy started doing it he lost his shit and even cried about it to the sideline reporter going into halftime. Fuck him.
  16. I'm not sure I agree with that. Sanders looked pretty good to me against Iowa State. He was in the game for four drives and produced 10 points; the last two drives we just ran the ball 6 straight times trying to run the clock out. He may not be 100%, but he's not anywhere near like what Zac Robinson was in 2009 when he basically couldn't throw. Also consider that Iowa State's defense is *considerably* better than OU's defense, and it's not close. So to your first point, if Sanders plays that whole game instead of Gundy, even not operating at 100%, it's a complete blowout. And yeah, OU's offense is considerably better than Iowa State's which is why I think we are unlikely to win. But if Sanders looks anything like he did against Iowa State and OU *does* turn it over 3-4 times we will absolutely win.
  17. Yeah and the other thing is that the constant reviews are just an absolute beating when you're at a game in person. Watching on TV at least you can see the reviews, hear from the Dean Blandino or whomever... in the stadium you just have sit there and wait for the dipshits to figure it out.
  18. That was as surprised as I've been about a game result in years. And I do believe that if you go back and look, I said in order to keep it close and have a chance, we would need to get multiple turnovers, which is what happened. So yeah, if OU throws the ball to us 3-4 times then we'll definitely be in a spot to win the game. Stern, but fair.
  19. Either that or a fancy pepper grinder? LOL honestly I don't know what it was, but don't think it was a lightsaber since Gilroy has said multiple times in interviews that there would be "no Jedi / no lightsabers" in Andor. Assume it was some sort of fancy club-like weapon maybe?
  20. The black box of how/when replay is deployed is one of the most maddening things in college football. Like it seems sometimes when there is a completely and totally obvious thing that needs to be reviewed, they just sit on their hands... other times on like an obvious catch we have to stop the game and spend 5 minutes looking at the reply of the obvious catch before we rule it a catch.
  21. Would love to, but not holding my breath. We're too beat up. Sanders will play, but won't be 100% and the defense is just decimated by injuries, so I'm expecting OU to put up 40+ and just don't think our offense running at like 60% capacity will be able to keep up, even against the shitty OU defense. If we were playing at home I'd give us a puncher's chance, but playing on the road will make it tough.
  22. Yep. Back where we started. It's like poetry... it rhymes...
  23. Yeah and the absolutely bonkers thing about the Whitey Bulger hit on Roger Wheeler was that it about skimming being done in professional Jai Alai. Wheeler was a co-owner of the league and figured out the Winter Hill gang was embezzling and Bulger sent some guys to gun him down in the parking lot of Southern Hills. Fucking wild.
