  1. Yeah Gundy was rolling in his DGAF mode yesterday.
  2. I think we can all agree that one game is the ideal sample size to figure out whether or not a head coach knows what he's doing.
  3. They did film some in Tulsa. The location production was split between Tulsa and OKC. They were shooting downtown right outside my building last summer.
  4. LOL thought the same thing. "Armed revolution" was literally the "thesis" of the original trilogy.
  5. Ha yeah. One of the happiest coincidences of this series is that they were shooting in the U.K. during Covid, so they basically had access to every great London stage actor who didn't have anything else to do; so they filled out every single role with an A++++ actor.
  6. Don’t forget the tentacle porn, obviously.
  7. Plus, they knew the Beatles were the biggest band in the world at the time, so they likely took extra care in proper storage of the master tapes, I would imagine.
  8. Yeah the injury thing is just maddening... I mean, I get that injuries happen and that's part of the game, but fuck man. If you would've ask me at the beginning of the year who we could least afford to lose to injuries, I would have said Sanders (obvious) or any offensive linemen on offense; and Tyler Lacy and Jason Taylor on defense. Well, let's see... Sanders? check. Lacy? check. Taylor? check. Offensive linemen? check. check. check. Oh and throw in our two starting outside receivers, our punter, two more defensive linemen, another safety... and on and on. Fuck me.
  9. Injuries, man. I think 2009 was the last time we've been so decimated by injuries. By my count, we are down about 7-8 opening day starters, including our best and (by far) most important player on offense (Sanders) and now our best player on defense (Lacy). Mason didn't "inherit" the same defense from last year - not even close. Last year's defense had multi-year starters at every position, including two linebackers who are on NFL rosters now, one of which (Rodriguez) has started every game as a rookie. We had new starters at 6/7 of the back end this year, with Jason Taylor the only returning starter... and (big surprise) he's also been injured. (This year's defense even with Knowles, and especially considering all of the injuries, would be just as shitty. Knowles is a good DC, but he isn't some wizard, no matter what OSU fans say now. The defense sucked his first few years when he had a largely inexperienced group. Funny how he got really smart as soon as he had multi-year starters at every position.) In terms of the full team, the last game we played where we were anywhere near healthy was the TCU game in Ft. Worth. Since then, we've been the walking wounded and literally lost more players each game since. I thought Rangel actually played well given the circumstances and has me optimistic for the QB position post-Sanders.
  10. It sure did! Me and my friends all were having a good laugh about it last night on our conference call with the Big 12 office. We made the strategic decision to call off the conspiracy during the Texas-Kansas State game last night just to give you all some confidence heading forward. We're going to fire it up again some time soon, though. Want to guess which game it will be?
  11. Are you talking about Luthen’s assistant? If so, it’s Klaya, not Leia. (I had to look that up early on because I was like, “is he saying Leia?!”)
  12. There’s no question about whether or not they bring him in to live action. There’s about 100% chance he’ll be in the Ashoka show… I’d say there’s maybe a 40-50% chance we see him in Season 2 of Andor.
  13. You're probably right, but I wonder if the overall the tone/pace will change in Andor in season 2. Remember they will be working to connect it to Rogue One; and while R1 certainly had a more serious tone, there were still lots of very "Star Warsy" stuff in it, and obviously cameos of existing characters (Vader, Tarkin, Leia, etc.); so I think it's possible or even probable that Season 1 of Andor will continue on its current path with little change to its overall structure/tone, while season 2 begins to fold in more "Star Warsy" elements -- including possible "cameos" of existing characters (Krennick? Tarkin again? Galen Erso? Jyn Erso?) as we get closer to the events of Rogue One. Whatever the direction, I have full faith and confidence in Tony Gilroy that it will be awesome.
  14. I'm with you, but I think with Gilroy show-running, you could still have Filoni come in and write some episodes IF they decide to bring in elements of Rebels where they will overlap with the Andor season 2 timeline... At the end of the day the showrunner still has "last pass" at all scripts/decisions no matter who the credited writer is on each episode, so you could have the best of both worlds bringing in elements of existing canon from Filoni and still have the show be pure Gilroy.
  15. Man there's a lot of content out there.... nobody can keep it all in their head except the nerdist of nerds. (hello!) So because of that overlap with the Mon Mothma story, I think Andor Season 2 would be an ideal time to bring in live action versions of the Phoenix cell and Thrawn, but I just don't think Tony Gilroy will do that, as he's been pretty adamant about not doing "cameo" stuff from other Star Wars shows (other than Rogue One), but we'll see. Edit - the only way I see it happening is if he brings in Filoni to write one of the 3-epidsode blocks of season 2. If that happens, I think we will see Phoenix and Thrawn.
  16. Not sure if you watched Rebels or not, but Mon's path to resigning from the Senate and becoming chancellor of the Rebel Alliance was covered in Season 3 of that show and is thus canon. I linked the clip from that show upthread if you want to check it out. There will definitely be overlap in those events covered in Rebels and in season 2 of Andor, as both take place in 0-1 BBY. Also just FYI there won't be season 3 of Andor. It's already been announced - season 1 is covering events roughly 5 years before Rogue One, then season 2 will time jump up to 1 year before Rogue One and cover events leading directly into it.
  17. She doesn’t strike me as someone with much of a social life. I imagine she’s exactly what Tracy Flick would become if she grew up in the Star Wars universe and became an ISB officer.
  18. Them falling on their face on the way out of the Big 12 was just so fun. Case McCoy herping and derping his way to that upset win in that last game between you guys was absolutely glorious.
  19. I mean... I honestly find "it was unbelievable" as a criticism in the context of a show about dueling space wizards with super powers to be a little dubious, but opinions vary and that's fine. I found the photography/editing/etc., of Obi-Wan to be top-notch, for the most part; I just felt the story itself was a little weak, but I still enjoyed the series. I can't say the same about Boba, save for the two Mando episodes.
  20. I'm not sure I'd say the Obi series had "shitty directing." The "director stuff" (shots, pacing, etc.) was actually quite good. There were several shots/sequences that were quite stunning.... from Obi-Wan's rescue of Leia to his fights with Vader. (The rooftop chase in Episode 2 (?) was really the only clunky directing, but it was an outlier, imo) It was just the content/plot/writing was about a 6/10. Boba was bad though, which is crazy because Robert Rodriguez has the chops, and his episode of Mandalorian was great. Seems like he was just cashing a paycheck in Boba. But yeah, nobody can write compelling "people in rooms" content like Tony Gilroy. That's a VERY high bar to be sure.
  21. I mean, I doubt it. I'd think the rest of SECSECSEC loves Mizzou. They bring in STL and KC carriage fees and they are a "name" (sort of) that's generally always beatable. Everybody wins.
  22. I kind of miss Aggy, but more just in the way of missing out on the yearly comedy of their expectations vs. reality... e.g. the Thujone "Annual Aggy rollercoaster." I can obviously still observe and be amused from afar, but it's better when it's up close and personal.
  23. LOL that's great, too. My favorite part of the "Breast exam" thing is when he busts into Peter's apartment and turns it on: PETER: Jesus, Lawrence. LAWRENCE: Sorry man, I thought you'd wanna see this...
  24. I know everyone loves to quote the "Two chicks at the same time" line, but my favorite is: PETER! TURN ON CHANNEL 9! BREAST EXAM!
