  1. The Mandalorian, Rogue One, The Clone Wars and Rebels also happened with her "full blessing and approval." Literally everything that has happened at LucasFilm since 2012 has her "full blessing and approval", as she's been the President since then. That's my point. If, as the president of LucasFilm, she gets "blamed" for the sequel trilogy, then she she also should get credit for the "good stuff." And note that I'm not saying she *doesn't* deserve some blame for the sequel trilogy, because she does. I just think it's entirely ridiculous that all of the whiney fanboys on the internet want to blame her for literally anything they don't like Star Wars related without giving her an ounce of credit for the things they *do* like.
  2. LOL it's basically a fanboy meme at this point. Anything fanboys don't like = "must be Kathleen Kennedy's fault"
  3. Possibly. There was a deleted scene from Episode III where Yoda communicates with Qui-Gon and learns how to force ghost, so we very well may end up seeing ā€œforce ghost Qui-Gonā€ in the Obi-Wan series.
  4. Fathie get your finger out of your nose!
  5. As we've discussed, this is something Filoni excels at. He'll come up with something that makes sense, other than the obvious of it's a big-ass galaxy and not every person in it decided they wanted to get involved in the Galactic Civil War.
  6. No they can take it off to eat and sleep and what not, as long as they are alone. Mando talked about it at some point in season 1 or 2, IIRC. I think when The Armorer asks the question, "Have you ever removed your helmet?", it is implied to mean "Have you ever removed your helmet in front of another person/being/whatever."
  7. It seems like maybe he's done bounty hunting? I got the impression he was still doing jobs so that he could buy a new ship. So I don't know that he needs the "space" any more... just something to get him from point A to point B as quickly and discretely as possible.
  8. Of course it is. All of these new shows are here to serve the "Filoni-verse" that was created with Clone Wars/Rebels. They may all have different names but essentially they are all the same big show. Mandalorian, Boba Fett, Ashoka, Obi-Wan... they are all going to dig in deep on the Filoni stuff.. Mandalore, crime syndicates, Clones, Jedi/Sith lore, Thrawn, and of course the work of spackling together narrative holes left by the movies, lol.
  9. Holy shit. I hadn't thought about that in decades, but as soon as I read it I had a very strong memory of chili and cinnamon rolls in the school cafeteria. So yeah your lunch lady wasn't the only one.
  10. That sounds great. Gonna try it. One simple broccoli thing I came across years ago is to make a vinaigrette that is 1 part Balsamic vinegar and 1 part soy sauce for the acid and then olive oil. I usually do like 2 TB of the vinegar and soy sauce and then maybe 1/3 cup olive oil (don't really measure)... that's enough for one bag of broccoli florets. Toss the broccoli in that vinaigrette and let it set for an hour or so. Then you can either eat them raw (which is awesome) or I'll char them a little on the grill or under the broiler.
  11. I kind of doubt it. These productions, especially in the Covid era, are meticulously planned out. The principle photography is all done at once well in advance and then everything is put together in post. Given that there was no proper Mandalorian season this year, it makes sense that they would put this in with 2 episodes left to lay the groundwork and provide an essentially an extended promo for Mando Season 3. Also, not everyone, especially people at Lucasfilm, have such a binary assessment of Star Wars stuff. It seems that the Fanboy reaction to everything now is either "It's amazing!" or "It's shit!." The Book of Boba Fett isn't anywhere near as good as Mando, but it's hardly "shit."
  12. Made tomato bisque and white cheddar grilled cheese on sourdough. Added some fresh dill to the grilled cheese and as a topper on the soup, which worked out really well.
  13. It's a thing. Sabine absolutely had trouble with it before getting training from Kanan. I'd say Mando did have some problems with it at the beginning. As he said during their training session, it got "heavier" and more difficult to wield the longer you use it. It's probably why he slashed his own leg at the end of the fight. We only saw Moff Gideon wield it for a few minutes before Mando bested him.
  14. This points directly to all of Gundy's recent talk of taking OSU football to the "next level." This is literally the first time I recall us pulling a top assistant from a power program. In the past it's always been him trying to find diamonds in the rough in G5 (or lower, lol) or lower-rung P5 programs.
  15. I think the most likely thing is that we see the ā€œaftermathā€ (whatever it is) of Mando going to see Grogu in the next episode, but then we see everything that actually happened (and possibly/likely more Luke) in Mando season 3.
  16. Just watched. Fucking A. Burning questions/thoughts: We gonna get to see Luke and Grogu again? Seems like Grogu is a given, Luke maybe? Other OT characters? Maybe Leia or Han? Young Ben Solo? I think we are supposed to be like 5-8 years after ROTJ at this point? So he may just be a baby or a toddler, I donā€™t recall the exact timing. Certainly seems like they are setting up Mando season 3 to be a full on Mandalorian lore season. Moar Bo Kotan and hopefully Sabine Wren? The modified N1 is fucking badass. I wonder if his ā€œlittle friendā€ will end up sitting in the droid hatch thatā€™s now another crew compartment? Seems like the end game of this series is war with Pykes then weā€™re done with Boba?
  17. Hells yes. Love me some DBT. Probably the band I've actually seen the 3rd most total times after Old 97's and Wilco, as they generally play at Cain's on every tour. I have tickets for their show coming up a week from Saturday.
  18. I've been buying tickets for shows at Cain's for 20+ years. I've bought tickets for plenty of "high demand" shows in the past... shows like Wilco or Beck or The Black Keys or whomever where the shows would be sold out in 30-60 minutes.... I've NEVER been completely shut out when logging in right at 10:00 especially when there are TWO shows available. I don't know a single actual human who actually got tickets to either Cain's show and almost all of my friends were logging on and trying right at 10:00. Just absolute, complete fucking bullshit. Fuck these scalper fucks with their bots and fuck the stupid asshole ticket broker companies who don't give a fuck. And I'm not sure what these dumb scalper fucks are thinking... I can't imagine anyone willing to pay $500-1,000 to see TT at Cain's. I mean I understand that prices will likely go do down as we get closer to the show, but I mean WTF? It seems like it's at least likely that a good chunk of these tickets won't even be purchased by actual humans going to the show until the prices come down SIGNIFIANTLY. I kind of hope they don't and they end up playing for a half-full venue. Maybe that'll get some peoples' attention in terms of dealing with these scalper fucks and their bots.
  19. Yep. J.J. Abrams is like a great George Lucas cover band. Dave Filoni understands what Lucas was doing - crafting great stories using the palate of his youth (Samuri, Westerns, WWII movies) set in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy world.
  20. My years-later analysis on the prequels has landed on: good ideas with mostly terrible execution. For all of George Lucasā€™ faults, Iā€™ll give him this: he doesnā€™t re-tread his ideas. The storyline of the prequels was pretty much nothing like what anyone expected. It certainly wasnā€™t a re-tread of the OT, like the sequel trilogy ended up being. I respect Lucas for coming up with original ideas and not do what people/fans were expecting. I think if Lucas had let someone else put his ideas into screenplays and also direct, while he had more of a role like he did in ESB and ROTJ (overall idea man and oversee production, particularly VFX), I think the prequels could have been really special. As it is, I think The Phantom Menace has actually aged quite well. Revenge of the Sith was a fun watch from the start. The only one that is just (still) completely awful in hindsight is Attack of the Clones. Itā€™s just a terrible mess.
  21. Well maybe it's semantics, but I don't consider 42-33 (.560) as "cannon fodder." Baylor and Iowa State were mostly certainly "cannon fodder" until the 2010s. OSU was competitive, ranked in the top 25 off-and-on and going to bowl games pretty consistently starting in 2002. The only losing season we've had since then was the 2005 transition year when Gundy took over for Les Miles. It sure seems to me that Colorado, Kansas State, Texas A&M and (to a lesser extent) Texas Tech are the textbook definition of what you're talking about in those early years.
  22. For further perspective, five of those six losing seasons were 1996-2001. So, like I said - a handful of years at the start of the conference. So hardly "years on end."
  23. Baylor and Iowa State I'll give you, but Oklahoma State hasn't been "canon fodder" in any way, shape or form in this conference except for maybe 2-3 random years TOPS at the very beginning when Bob Simmons started to struggle. We are top 10 in wins among P5 programs going back to 2010. That's more than a decade. We've had one losing season (2005) in the past 20 years. Texas has had losing seasons in 4 of the last 8, for perspective.
  24. From a game day atmosphere / in-stadium game experience, perspective? Yes, Manhattan, KS, beats the shit out of just about every "nice" location in the PAC, without question.
  25. Basically I just mix a shit ton of Cajun seasoning in with 2-3 tablespoons of warmed/softened butter. Then spread it on warm French bread from the oven. This had me lulz'ing.
