  1. It’s interesting you say that. I remember thinking when Gundy took over, “man… if we could be like Texas Tech that would be great…”. At the time, Tech was the clear next-best program in the Big 12 South after OU/Texas. Getting to their level of winning seemed like a realistic goal. Once Gundy started beating them consistently and then especially when Leach left, it felt like our programs just pivoted in opposite directions. Gundy just kept winning and it feels like Tech has been wandering in the wilderness now for a decade.
  2. I’m not sure how the restoration is working exactly, but I just checked and I have everything back now, including stuff that was recorded.
  3. Thank Christ. I was not excited about going to Hulu or something else. Love YTTV. If I have to pay a few extra bucks to keep the cunts at the Mouse satisfied then so be it. Was NOT excited about the Hulu bullshit of limited recording and fucking making you watch ads on shit you recorded. That’s some BULLSHIT.
  4. Oh OK. What you’re describing is what I always thought of as a “remix.” If it’s just a “remaster” I always thought that meant just going back to the master tapes and getting better/more clear/higher fidelity/etc. version of the same “mix.” Anywho - is that what they did with Abbey Road? I know they went back and re-did the original stereo mixes of Sgt. Peppers and maybe Revolver? So it didn’t have that weird extreme separation thing going on, but Abbey Road was originally mixed in stereo wasn’t it?
  5. Huh? I’m not following. Did they actually remix Abbey Road or just remaster it? If it’s the latter, nothing really was changed, was it? Of the various mixes out there of Let it Be, I actually like the Giles Martin mix the best. It dials back the Phil Specter stuff without totally getting rid of it and makes it feel like a more coherent album. I thought Let it Be Naked was OK but I didn’t like the re-ordering of the tracks (probably because I’m used to hearing them in a certain order) and the abrupt fade-outs was annoying. I thought the best parts of Let it Be Naked was it had the best version of “Across the Universe” and also the inclusion of “Don’t Let Me Down.”
  6. Just wanted to say… fuck all of these fucking cunts… primarily mother fuck fucking ESPN. I’ve loved YTTV and hate to drop it, but so be it. I’ll go back when they finally strike a deal with the cunts in Bristol.
  7. Another of my favorite made up thing: Hennigan’s Scotch. Always wondered what was the best made-up Scotch: Hennigans or Glengoolie Blue? Gotta think Archer had the more expensive taste, so Glengoolie Blue is probably the way to go.
  8. Definitely not Reggie’s. No big salad there. Such bullshit.
  9. Yeah it counts. Nobody wanted to see “Blame it on the Rain” either.
  10. That presupposes I read the thread before I just jump in and post.
  11. Oh shit. So bummed I forgot about Death Blow and Cry Cry Again. Also just remembered a few from when Kramer was doing MoviePhone: Brown Eyed Girl and Mountain High, lol
  12. Yankee Bean clear cut winner, but Newman’s wax bean story is sneaky good.
  13. More trivia - my wife and I often try to name all of the fake movies they went to see (or wanted to see) off the top of our heads… I’ll start: Prognosis Negative Chunnel Rochelle Rochelle Firestorm Blame it on the Rain Ponce de Leon The Muted Heart
  14. The Big 12 kind of had to because OU, Nebraska, Texas and Texas A&M demanded it. And now all four have left the league because the league wasn't "good enough." If those four had been on board with equal revenue sharing from the start it would have worked just fine and the league would still be intact today, and probably the second most valuable league behind the SEC.
  15. Ummm... it's the fucking opposite of greed. It's realizing that making the whole of the conference more valuable instead of just the few "brands" is better for everyone across the board. You know who has had equal revenue sharing all along? The B1G and the SEC. Funny how they are now the two most valuable leagues. And you're seriously complaining about schools scheduling FCS teams? Go take a peak at the SEC schedule in mid-November and get back to me. The "non-brands" in this league have more than held up their share of the bargain, in terms of creating value for the league. The same can't be said for the "brands."
  16. Agreed. That's why the greedy fucking assholes that have been fueling completely unnecessary conference realignment for the last decade are fucking shitheads. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the state of the P5 conferences in 2009-10. If everything was suddenly re-set that state, guess what - everyone would still be printing money. But no - we have to have rich assholes squabbling and moving around because they aren't as rich as the other rich assholes and thus destroying the thing that made college athletics great in the first place, which are the in-state and regional rivalries.
  17. Yeah. And here in Oklahoma the spin from the OU media/Sports Talk/Social Media echo chamber is that OSU is somehow responsible for ending the Bedlam football series because our AD recently said it would be "logistically difficult" for the Bedlam football series to resume any time soon. Never mind the fact that: OU is the party that effectively ended the series by deciding to leave the conference. Both OSU and OU already have multiple home-and-home P5 schools scheduled over the next decade. We literally don't even know the exact year when OU will be playing in the SEC nor what their schedule would be. I personally don't care either way if Bedlam continues in football. My hunch is that it will, but probably not until 2030-35. I don't know that we'll play Texas again in football, which is too bad. I definitely want to play both in every other sport though, especially basketball and baseball.
  18. Oh I'm sure he knew. My take is that's why he was locking the kids out of the process as a precaution. His plan was likely to (1) Get things locked down with GoJo because that was the top priority (2) Then offer Caroline whatever to get the kids votes back (3) Tell the kids to fuck off and profit. However, he also probably considered that Roman (at least) would stay with him and possibly Shiv. Remember it would take all 3 kids being on the same page to tank his plan. What Tom did was alert Logan that (a) the kids knew about it before he had a chance to get everything locked down and (b) they were all on the same page. So it accelerated his plans to get all of his voting rights back and he also knew what was coming at him when they arrived.
  19. LOL this. It was blatantly and plainly obvious, from Tom's discussion with Greg to Logan affectionately patting Tom on the shoulder after he just went scorched earth on his kids.
  20. Tom 100% blew it up by warning Logan. The thing about Tom the entire time is that he's been watching, paying attention and waiting. Initially, he was happy to work his way up the corporate ladder leveraging his marriage to Shiv, because she wasn't a "threat" to his position in the company as long as she was working as a political consultant. But her getting involved in the company changed everything for Tom, particularly when she became a candidate for CEO and began being mostly dismissive of Tom's aspirations: "Oh yeah... yeah... you'll be there..." was often her refrain. Tom deciding to offer himself up to prison to Logan was the key turning point for him, because it changed the nature of his relationship with both Logan and Shiv. He saw how Logan had a new respect for him and he also saw how Shiv didn't necessarily give a shit that he was going to go to prison. The diner scene with Kendall laid out Tom's intentions. He was always going to side with Logan. Because, as noted above, he's been watching and he knows that Logan would figure out a way to outmaneuver the kids. Also, this:
  21. This is pretty interesting and plays into something they brought up on the Ringer podcast... The main difference between Tom/Greg and the Roy sibs is that Tom/Greg observe their surroundings, listen to people and act accordingly. The Roy siblings are always 100% sure they are right all the time and don't listen to anything except what's already in their heads. Roman should have paid attention to what Gerri was saying instead of just sending her dick pics all the time.
  22. Yeah it sucks to lose him. But hard to compete when it's Ohio State AND he becomes the highest paid assistant in Ohio State history. FFS.
