  1. Omw back from a post-game dinner in Fayetteville and fuck that was a lot better as a winner than loser. Shitload of Texas fans in attendance. Sorry to disappoint the olds in here that remember the vitriol of the 70s or whatever, but the trip was fine. The town is cool, leaving AR with a golden sun was pretty damn impressive. Didn't have a single Razorback talk a single word of shit to me all game. Plenty of Horns down in the stadium, even t-shirts of that bullshit, but the worst reaction I got was an Arky fan leaving the game with his middle fingers up as we held the Horns high. The walk in and out was quiet as shit. They aren't bred to hate us in our face anymore.
  2. "They're bred to hate us" from home apparently. The ticket market has absolutely cratered.
  3. I've been so annoyed at the thought of a 60-year old man pretending to be in fighting shape for the past few months that I haven't even considered, what if Jake Paul lands a big right hand, the type that's knocked out more than a few men in their 30s. The type that stopped Mike Perry. This is a 60 year old man we're talking about. This is probably Top 5 dumbest choices Mike Tyson has ever made in his life. Took me a second to configure the rankings because there's some dumb shit in there that we know of. My money is on it being as fixed as they can get away with though. Another disappointing hugfest like Tyson/Jones.
  4. Sorry to Food & Travel this up, but any recommendations on somewhere to stay Friday night to break up the drive? I can stay with family in Dallas, but leaving at 4 am to make kickoff comfortably seems like a shit idea. I know a few pages back someone mentioned it might be worth staying in OK but I wouldn't know a damn thing about towns in that area otw to Arkansas. Any recs for a motel town that won't have a meth feel?
  5. We're not going to pretend Year 1 Charlie and Year 1 Sark went into those fights with a full "Texas" (capital T) arsenal. God Bless all the Texas boys that have suited up in the Burnt Orange over the past 14 years but neither of those teams were even above .500 at the end of the season. And it wasn't because Arkansas kicked our ass so bad that we limped through the rest of the season. Saying Charlie didn't "get it" against Arkansas is probably not on a single person's list as to why he is no longer the coach at UT. There are plenty of things he didn't get. Sark understands what it is to be Texas now, and we're not going into Fayetteville with a 5-7 team to take on a 9-3 Arkansas team like 2021 either. These days ain't those days. I plan to nut up in the visitor's section (comfortably around other Texas fans) like I fully expect this team to. There's appropriate fear, and there's whatever this shit is. I'm not taking 6-6 and 5-7 confidence into this Saturday, you can have that.
  6. Maybe they change my mind this weekend, but all year I've been hearing this and that about Àrkansas away, old rivals, throw out the spread..... I'm maybe in the minority but I don't really care about them. They were my dad's rivals and had a lot of 90s history in a conference I never knew. The first big game I remember watching was James Brown beating Nebraska. To me Arkansas is all stories and someone else's memories. Can't imagine any of the undergrads or players give any more of a shit about hating us than any other school. They'll throw the horns down because that's what everybody does. Stomp their shit and move on. I don't want to rekindle a rivalry from 30+ years ago unless they're going to be contenders again. We already have a little brother that hates our ass.
  7. Moore has had a good past few weeks, and was getting a lot more targets than usual in the 1st quarter. A huge drop and a bit of a juggle on the sideline hurt him. Sark seems to play the hot hand. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wingo get another big play or 3 before the year's over.
  8. Damn this was prescient as fuck. I'm struggling to find the connection that some of my friends get from voting for Trump, and I guess this makes as good of sense as any. I haven't had "real" conversations with them (not that I think they have "real" reasons), but the centering of culture war bullshit from the right really resonates with them. This puts it in perspective. As a 36 y/o latino male I don't share the view that they're abandoning me, but I'm probably older than who this is talking about and also grew up with the party that I vote for. Not because I love all of their ideas, but I find myself more closely aligned with what they represent, and a hell of a lot less of what that fake orange man is and represents.
  9. What a rough 2nd half watch. Sometimes Wemby looks like he's just playing rec-league hero ball throwing up 3s like a YMCA Steph Curry. The silver lining for me is the built in excuse that we were missing our 2nd best player of 2024 (and obvs 2nd best player on the team as well).
  10. "Who's your daddy" chants as their RB runs in the final nail in the coffin is pretty damn badass. Dirty work. Ya love to see it.
  11. Should've gone to the game tonight, was debating a quick day trip from Austin up until yesterday. They played hard and the defense showed. Vic with a few highlights tonight and Keldon with his best game of the season. Through 6 games this might be Sochan's team though.
  12. So then they're getting it right? The overturns are a success. I understand it adds 7 minutes of agony to your total watch time but they're literally making sure it's right. And plenty of us have seen no-brainers that are absolutely worthy of an ejection.
  13. We're gonna beat their ass. People manufactured worry because they dropped 50 on Mississippi State. We're going to beat their ass.
  14. Still not sold on Champagnie (sp). He's just as streaky as Keldon but plays a bit harder defense? Hm I guess I also forget he's just keeping Devin's spot warm though. We need more shooting baaaaad.
  15. A game of inches. 4th down, we hold there and it's still 24-10, and the defense does their best work of the day, holding Vandy scoreless on a 38-yard field gifted to them by the Texas O. Vandy really benefitted from some stupid luck, timely penalties and incredibly stupid personal fouls on our end to keep it within 14.
  16. It was sad to watch, but won't mind seeing Khamzat for the belt. I don't know who is strong enough to keep him off though. Would love to see him beat strickland first. Main event was rough. Holloway was doing just fine. Putting on a striking clinic at times. Then.... bam. Topuria's power gotta start entering rare territory in UFC lore.
  17. A little of both. They don't have to play undefeated BYU or undefeated Iowa State. The only team in the top 3 of the conference they lost to by 3 (KSU), while also needing OT to get by Baylor. I think this game against Tech will solidify if they belong in that Top 4 or are just like the rest of the middle of the pack (which is a lot of schools). They have earned the right to prove it at this point, imo.
  18. I'm fine with the defense today. Offense gave them a 2nd straight game of "fuck you clean up our shit." And that TD at the end would have had a lot smaller likelihood of happening if Broughton doesn't go full regard. Moore looked good, Ant looked good, the speed of the defense was on display again keeping Pavia from breaking anything big after that initial touchdown. The coverage was very sticky tonight too.
  19. He was a 1st round pick 2 weeks aqo. Absolutely stunning turnaround by him. My hat's off.
  20. Ese guey tiene cojones, y Quinn ....... Well Quinn.....
  21. He's a young guy we can live with mista.............. /s
  22. Exactly my thoughts. How underwhelming. Didn't go to one game this year, had gone to 3-4 each of the first few seasons. The team didn't play with heart, the coach didn't seem to have control of the team, lacking leadership and desire. Now the GM contributes to the lack of inspiration?
  23. I get a little excited then go through my account to see that I sold some off earlier this year at 8.75 in late April. Let me hold my damn horses and let this make some money.
  24. Sturgill's ACL taping is on Monday. Giveaway link is here: https://acltv.com/tapings/. Actually went to my first ACL taping a couple weeks ago to see Carin Leon while he was in town for the festival. That venue is awesome, the show was great, and I would be incredibly stoked to see Sturgill on that stage (even after catching him at the fest), so fingers crossed and if anybody wins with an unused+1........
