  1. Excited for this Saturday. Spence vs. Crawford is the biggest fights in years, in a year full of great fights. Boxing has had a solid post-covid turn imo, and has me excited to be a boxing fan again for the first time in a decade or so. UFC kinda took my attention, and I'm still very excited about that card this Saturday, but my highlight of the night will be Bud and Errol showing off high-level boxing.
  2. Just when I thought UBB couldn't crack me up more after his "C'MONNN NAHH!!!" delivery, he follows up with a couple "look hnnyeeuhh" this week. Gets me every time.
  3. I don't feel weird at all. This team was lost in the spring but has looked very capable in the Summer. Zardes has started to finish off some chances, Diego is healthy again, Finlay is in better form than Rigoni and is starting over him as he should be.... All those things were different in May
  4. Forgot I'd put a sell marker of 4.88 on EOSE and exited most of my position yesterday. Can't be too disappointed with a 175% profit (got in under $2), just wish I'd gotten in for the amounts I've put into UUUU and IBRX overall. Nice to actually make some money for a change though.
  5. Wemby's footwork looks better tonight. Actually had some semblance of a solid foundation for a jump shot. Friday night he was taking shots with a weird Bonner-esque parallel stance. Tonight his feet look set (right foot a bit forward, shoulders aligned). And the aggressiveness on the inside is noticeable, he's showing a bit of a mean streak. Branham and Champenny having slow nights and we're down big because of that.
  6. Volk was impressive just like he was against Islam though. Such a damn honey badger in there. Vicious little fuck. Du Plessis was impressive. I told my friends Whittaker was gassed after he went after a takedown and expended a lot of energy trying to ground and pound, he looked different once he got up. And the whole fight energy changed immediately after.
  7. I'm 100% biased towards Moreno, so take it with a grain of salt, but I hate that takedowns and "ground control" can win a fighter a round. Or two rounds in Pantojas case. It's a fight, not a "neutralize your opponent til the clock runs out" competition. He was getting tired of eating hands so he grabs some waist and hangs on for dear life. Can't really threaten a submission, so it's just grappling at that point. Now he's an Ultimate Fighting Champion and baddest man in the division........ I guess.
  8. I'd be fine with a 15 win improvement over last year. But I've had this sneaking suspicion that we tanked better than everyone else last year and blew more than a couple handfuls of games by design. Especially with the amount of injuries we had. Keldon missed 20 games last year, Devin missed almost 50. Sochan missed 25. If these guys play 70 games next year, hypothetically, and play more than 50-60 together as a core..... I'm just sayin. Don't be surprised if we win 45-50.
  9. Finished it last night, loved it. A+. Richie, Marcus, what great character development. Cool to see some big wins. Except for Marcus kicking ass all season and then shooting his shot (while he was full of confidence) and getting swatted. Rough spot. The only gripe I have with the season came in the last episode, and it's Carmy's and Claire's story. Claire being there outside the walk-in as Carmy spills his guts out (out-loud obvs) kinda made me eyeroll. His tension building up around her all night when the healthy thing between them would've just been for her to say "damn, you're going to be extremely f'n busy tonight, don't worry about me" after he comes out to say hi. But then again if they were a healthy couple it wouldn't fit the show, so whatever. A+ overall.
  10. This was the best episode of the season so far. I'm starting to die every time Uncle Baby Billy says "C'MONNN NAHH!!" . His delivery is so damn perfect.
  11. This is almost my exact review. I enjoyed Grand Budapest Hotel, but saw Rushmore years ago and hardly remember it. I enjoyed watching Asteroid City, there are a handful of laughs, but I get annoyed without a narrative. I'm at a solid B. I also am not sure I "get" WA. And I'm fine with a meandering story like Linklater does, or open-ended storylines even, but this one went right over my head like the alien's spaceship.
  12. Finally got to pop into a showing at Alamo. The past few weekends have just been nonstop sold out or just singles on the fringes. It was still packed today, and with good reason. My initial reaction was A+, and I think that's going to stand. I don't give those out regularly at all. So damn fast paced from the music to the humor/one liners, to the animation, chase scenes, etc., it's kind of a fun ride.
  13. Used to? You can take History of Rock Music, Jazz, Western Music, etc. this fall. They all fulfill a VAPA requirement, which is mandated by the state's core curriculum, and most universities offer some sort of similar music appreciation courses. Don't hold that against UT, they're offering packed classes to students who need to get a VAPA credit in order to graduate (so, everybody).
  14. Been missing an energized Fagundez for a while, he made a huge difference. Driussi looked great. Rigoni is well past his expiration date and at this point is just getting paid to help Seba and Urruti prepare meats for the parrillada. If they keep playing this well I'm not even mad at it. (Seriously, he was offside, but the shot was piss-poor over the crossbar, then that 5-on-1 fast break and he can't even get a pass off because he has no f'n creativity to create space. All he had to do was kick the ball to a general area where 3 Austin FC players were waiting). I understand these guys are technically replaceable and/or improvable, but I always like the solid floor Finlay and Lima bring. They hustle more often than not and if you can live with Lima taking a bad shot once in a while (and he didn't last night), he brings value in getting the ball into dangerous spots in the box.
  15. excited to have this kid as a spur. I'd pay to sit in on the first wine Cinco with him and Pop.
  16. Are you? You said yourself you don't know what Sark's building here and you insinuate in your own comments you don't know about the recruiting he does and roster he's building, but you sound very confident that you know what you're talking about when you say we're going to get our shit kicked in. So, you don't really know the team or the roster, but you're a staunch believer in "SEC FOOTBALL"..... Ok, "UT homer".
  17. Just finished the season and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Solid character-driven sitcom and I was impressed with how all the uncles get their own scenes and episodes, sometimes even without Primo. The 2nd half of the season seemed to get a lot better and funnier. The swap meet scenario was hilarious, the career fair where he meets her dad. Good stuff.
  18. While we're calling Driussi our MVP, Stuver is out there taking over the game by himself. Hell of a game from him.
  19. How bad must Urruti be in training? I swear they keep putting in balls to Zardes, who is trying to body up defenders, but he never comes down with the f'n ball. Urruti did that plenty fine last year...
  20. Was stoked to see his play last night. Encapsulates what he does well. Does everything well, but most importantly does it smart and plays hard. Wish his timeline matched up with ours, and damn I'd love to see him back after next year. Always thought he impacted the game in more and better ways than Dejounte.
  21. It would be cool to see another coach come in and get the most out of his son though. I also don't know enough to feel comfortable commenting on soccer abilities, but I really enjoy watching Dani attack and dribble, and I feel like his next stop is going to allow him to be a creating midfielder rather than just..... facilitating the next pass back to the defenders.
  22. Greg gets his final scene like Ana De Armas in Knives Out. Coffee mug and all.
  23. "I had it 9 rounds to 3 but I could see it being a draw." Facepalm. Also people taking issue with whether a decision was "unanimous" instead of contesting actual rounds is when they out themselves. I thought it was a really good fight, and expected a draw tbh, was really close and didn't like how Loma gave away the last round. Haney turned it up and Loma trird to dance around. Im sure he was exhausted but that was the nail in the coffin.
  24. He'll be in the strip clubs just fuming at the thought. Stone-faced and he drops 1s from the balcony to the main stage, glimpses of Wemby in the face of every girl who shimmies up the pole.
  25. They definitely worked hard last night, seemed to have some fire on em. Finally took advantage of a couple slim chances and cashed in. Let's get another Saturday!
