  1. Two great fights, two very sore losers. The endings were tough to watch, a couple guys who couldn't even imagine that they were in a tough/close fight.
  2. Figueroa-Fulton on Showtime tonight. Title unification. The 956 is back in the house!
  3. I've made a huge mistake...
  4. Just adding lines to the resume. I'd definitely be intrigued to how he could hold up to this weight, but I'm sure they see something in this Makabu that they can handle. Cruiserweight is a such a dead weight class that it doesn't mean a whole lot to me, but will also be an eyebrow-raising line on this resume. The main aspect of Canelo's career that I will remember is that he chased greatness. If you're going to hold his management against him (waiting on fights, "ducking" fighters, whatever), then you have to hold the management of other fighters against their legacy too. Staying in the same weight class for 15+ years isn't chasing greatness, it's refusing to test your limits and your advantages to find out how great you can be. Would rather see him fight Charlo, but I understand the move. It's clear he's focused on adding belts. Charlo won't be remembered in 10 years, belts in 5 weight classes will....
  5. How is this thread better than the DT thread? I've tried to get some insight into it over there and it's a fuckin shitshow. CR is now bearable? Everything's all fucked up on this site.
  6. Had to see this on the big screen and glad I did. I knew nothing of the first movie or the books (born shortly after all that), but everybody has seemed to like this first installment so I was in after reading reviews. I'm hooked and waiting for Part 2. Now I'm making my way through the old posts on this thread, apparently I really missed out. Also, hey, that's the detective from Twin Peaks in that trailer. Oh wait, Lynch directed the first movie?? (I just saw the first season of Twin Peaks last year, really enjoyed it, but decided I won't be watching Season 2). Pretty cool.
  7. Vic ain't pullin' no Mexican Nationals. He pullin' the churro eaters from SA (sadly, my people). Plus the Mexicans with money don't get fat because they'll hit the surgery table by the end of a grito...
  8. Been looking for some good nachos in Austin for too long. I can get the puffy tacos from El Chile, and they're not too bad.
  9. Feels good to be over 100% return on UUUU. Holding for 400%.
  10. I've been looking more at Facebook's marketplace if I need actual goods. Like you I also peruse Craigslist once every few weeks or maybe months, just to see what's there, it's usually shit. I did get a last minute Leon Bridges concert ticket by trade a couple months ago. That was just good luck though. I had another ticket he wanted (and asked for in the post).
  11. The comments about "a Travis Scott concert" miss that it was a festival. With some of the top artists for this demographic (teenagers and 20-somethings who love to party). Bad Bunny was on the lineup, who I'd argue is just as famous as Travis. Lil Baby. 21 Savage. Tame Impala. With rumors (as always) of Drake showing up. This was a crazy event in the first place, and unfortunately catered to a crazy group of young folks at a crazy age.
  12. I think Driussi being acclimated to the team has made us much better already. We gotta get the back line sorted out, but the way the ball moves around with Driussi in the lineup is much better. He and Fagundez pushing forward is fun to watch. Also, I've been ok with Pochettino in the past couple months too. I felt like he didnt fit, or wasn't trying early in the season, but he seems to have least found a spot as a real midfielder. IMO. Idk what the film study would say.
  13. Watched this 50 times growing up. All 7 hours of it. Still have quotes ringing in my head from time to time. "Time is money........ MY MONEY!!!" "Ain't nobody comin' to see you OTIS" "Yeahhh, I like that, David Ruffin, & the Temptations".....
  14. Wow. Glover was big enough to throw him around a bit. Hadn't seen that in a while for Jan.
  15. DC and the team going out of their way to compliment Sandhagen, but this is a losing gameplan, if there even is one. Slapping, touching, half-jabbing, what was the purpose of this plan? Against a guy who is all-pressure and violent? One guy in there is violent, the other guy in there is trying to play patty-cake. At least in the first 2 minutes the body work seemed like a coherent gameplan, so of course he gave up on it.
  16. Reminder that Sark ended practice 15 minutes early this week bc the team was ready to go.....
  17. It broke $9 for like 7 minutes, and didn't hold the last time it broke $8.50 either. Y'all trippin'. This thing was like $4.90 for a few days at the end of the summer, hold and chill.
  18. It was because Poetl had a stretch early where he had 4 or 5 rebounds and a couple tip ins within a couple minutes just from hustling and being a big body. Hope he continues to play hard because he looked good again. What a balanced box score too. Gotta love that.
  19. Yep, glad I tuned out for the 2nd half and watched What We Do in the Shadows instead. An infinitely better time.
  20. UUUU going brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ...... I have about 1/1000th of the shares as Stafford, but I am also sitting at $5.26, so this is good to see finally. Hopefully it sticks over 8 this time.
  21. This. I have a theory that once we get to the 3rd year, and especially the 4th and an O-lineman not good enough to be a starter, you're playing yourself if you think he's still learning at practice. ESPECIALLY if they're not being benched because they just aren't strong enough yet. They can do rabbit drills and work on pass sets and quickness drills til they're blue in the face, but the guy has the feet and technique to learn the position by year 3 or he doesn't have it. You don't "get it" at 22 years old. They practice this daily from their first day on campus. I'm bullish on Karic still, he saw true freshman minutes and still has some developing to do, same with Conner. But Okafor and Imade are who they are at this point, and for one that was a below average left guard who had 4+ years to learn the position and still graded out his games as a less than average D1 guard. I don't think Imade will fare much better, but maybe we'll give him a gameplan he can work with.
  22. Which reminds me.... with the way they've responded to any automobiles being anywhere near central campus, they'll tear down that parking lot POST HASTE.
  23. On to the next. If we keep getting DJM or Derrick Whites or Keldon Johnsons, I won't argue with a miss at 19 like Luka. It is what it is. This ain't 2000 anymore, everybody is scouting world-wide, aren't too many hidden gems left in Euroleague.
  24. Watched it yesterday. Still not getting the point. If I wanted fan service and to "be back in the Sopranos world again" I would just do a rewatch and re-enter the world. Dickie had a completely unoriginal and uninteresting story. He tried to be a good dude, failed, murdered, cheated, and stole, just like every other mob member in that world, why did he deserve a whole movie? So we could see him having 3 or 4 conversations with a pre-adolescent Tony? Even the scenes with Livia, although sometimes interesting (maybe because of a good casting job), were exactly how I'd expect. Yeah, she had a fucked up marriage alright, thanks for portraying that pretty much exactly how I imagined it would be, why did it deserve a movie depiction?
  25. I'm not even going to question Flood at this point. Karic was definitely not an upgrade in the line, and since Flood knew this, he probably knows that putting Imade or Conner at LG (and Kerstetter at RT) is not an upgrade over Karic at RT. They aren't ready. The talent isn't there.
