  1. Alright, I'm in mferrrrssss. This first $10 is for Blaine Irby.
  2. You get less upset if you gave in weeks ago and just accepted that we're not making the playoffs, and it's been a silly thought for weeks now. We're one of the worst 3-4 teams in the league, and for the expansion year, overall, I think we get a pass for that. Is anybody really going to bitch if we finish 2nd to last in the table during our expansion year? We get a younger, faster CB, maybe another full/wing back to raise our floor and replace a starter, and we come back next year hopefully mid-table. We still don't have that 10 we're looking for. Maybe Gallagher's the guy, maybe he isn't, but we're putting our hopes on a complete unknown in Djitte as well. This team still has holes and unknowns.
  3. Never had a bad night on Mezcal. Tequila on the other hand, makes me act out of character. On my 4th different bottle of Mezcal so far. Still haven't ventured past the $50 mark however. Fidencio probably my favorite one, paplote was decent, Del Maguey's Vida was just alright.
  4. Not after the year this D-line is about to have. We owed them one for Chaisson.
  5. They're not going to overlook this team. It's a ranked matchup inside our stadium. And we're ranked just low enough for the players to feel like we gotta prove ourselves. It's all set. Let's do this.
  6. Part of me wants to believe Woodley carried him. ESPECIALLY after almost sending him through the ropes with one punch, and then he just stalks him for 10 seconds while only throwing a single jab to follow it up. It was as perplexing as Nate Diaz wasting time pointing to Leon after wobbling him instead of finishing him. But I guess it happens, and Woodley does have a style of waiting (/boring spectators).
  7. One thing I wasn't sure about was having Ring playing further forward than Pereira. I thought it was obvious that Ring was our defensive anchor/motor guy, and from what I've seen, Pereira fancies himself a distributor and somewhat of a control guy............. so why that idea?
  8. Shit fight. Woodley made Paul pay exactly one time with a lead right since Paul had that left hand down all night, and he never went back to it. He pulled it at least two other times though. That told me all I need to know. The call for a rematch immediately told me even more than I wanted to know. It's WWE directed and produced by the Paul brothers. Thankfully I paid zero dollars for it.
  9. Damn bro you get a few drinks in and let the whole ass internet have it. Twitter and here. You should challenge Jake Paul, we could use a drunk Mexican hero!
  10. Yep, he wasn't the starter to begin the season, but came on after a few weeks and anchored the back line down. This is easily his worst game this season. But overall he's an MLS journeyman so the regression was due.
  11. I saw that too. Kolmanic was nowhere on the screen . Pepi cut to the middle of the box on one of his goal and somehow Cascante was way behind him struggling to get back to his CB spot. Seems like our gameplans was easily foiled tonight by just making runs to where our defenders have left their posts. Wtf.
  12. He worked hard and faltered in the 2nd. He looked decent with the hands but overall the wrestling and grappling of Battle was overwhelming.
  13. Siap, anybody got a good site to stream? Streameast is too American I guess, and sportsurge seems to be dead. Not a premier league guy usually but this matchup seemed too good to pass up. Edit: internet says it's NBC.... Guess I gotta wait for these antelope to get off my tv.
  14. Anybody else get the errant email this morning from Athletics selling Texas Volleyball National Championship merch from 2020? I was extremely confused and did not think there was anyway my memory has gotten so bad that I forgot that we won a national championship last year. I clicked the link, and obviously there was no actual merch on the website, but the pictures are there on the email. Pretty good prank if they were hacked somehow. Wtf.
  15. It sure has been consistent. For all the talk of "battles" in the offseason, this is pretty much what we left last year thinking, hopefully that's a good thing in a couple months.
  16. I had to look up the stats myself because I couldn't believe it. There were 22 dudes in the AFC alone who had more yards than him. And obvs there would be a lot of ties with TD's, but he didn't even crack the Top 50. Wtf? That lunch pail goes a long way these days.
  17. I loved the 3rd episode. It finally grabbed me. The characters and acting kinda threw me off in the pilot (or maybe just their dry humor), but 2 was better, and 3 had me cracking up. The ridiculous bar story getting better and better all episode, and ending as a meth rager was hilarious. And agree that the girl who seemed to be a supporting character is taking over the show. I'm an episode behind though so i'll catch up tonight and see what else they got in store.
  18. I was gifted this a couple weeks ago. I like it, but hadn't tried it before so didn't even know whether to post it to this thread. Had a few sips last night, I'd rate it at about the $40-45 range myself, not anything to knock my socks off, but flavorful.
  19. Just wanted to check out a couple songs before my work day got started, wound up listening to an entire hillbilly epic before sitting down at my desk and I regret none of it. I laughed, I cried, I smiled, I yeehaw'd.
  20. MLK & Airport has to be the worst Whataburger in the state. And I've had Whataburger all over south Texas, CenTex, Houston and probably Dallas too.
  21. My first MLS game in-person was in Seattle 2 years ago. They're still kicking ass. There's some good teams in this league, then on the other end of the table, there's us.
  22. The games usually have about 400 tickets on SeatGeek on game day. This morning there was still about 900. I'm sure it's a mixture of COVID and our inability to score goals, but there will likely be some empty seats at the stadium tonight.
  23. I'm a sucker for nachos and those bean/cheese look glorious.
  24. Gotta add the classic gas station breakfast taco almost anywhere in the Valley. Spent the week in La Feria last week and had Stripes/Laredo Taco Company, that was great, and another morning from Steve's corner store in between La Feria/Harlingen. The flour tortillas are guaranteed to be homemade and the barbacoa is usually killer too. From Edinburg to Brownsville.
  25. Seconded. Las Trancas doesn't get mentioned much with the more popular taco trucks in town (and on TV), but it's solid, and those tripas are my go to. With the green salsa it's perfect.
