  1. I would think this is the gameplan, but my view is that "Francis is just as big as Gane" and wouldn't be as easy to hit with leg kicks and jabs as Lewis. That height/reach advantage won't be the same. So yeah good luck trying to keep Ngannou at bay with peppering shots. At least I hope.
  2. Checked in to this thread a while back after listening to Sturgill's first two albums (the 3rd definitely didn't stick with me..... yet), but gave Tyler Childers' "Purgatory" (2017) album a listen after hearing Sturgill help produce it, and I liked that too. Definitely going to check out the 2019 project. I like his writing. 2 "newer" (for me) country artists I like after a decade or more of ignoring the genre. Good stuff.
  3. Dak and McCarthy seemed a bit..... uncomfortable around each other. Or mostly Dak. My favorite part may have been sitting through 40 minutes of watching the skill players be grown ass kids, joke around, talk shit, and the only 2 starting O-line I saw (Martin and Smith) looked like some hard-hitting serious mfers, for the few seconds of screen time they got. Oh, and count me in on Parsons. That kid is linebacker crazy, and seems to be locked in on the game. Already calling plays.
  4. Lewis f'd around and found out. What a piss poor performance. And then he seemingly quit at the end. The top 2 in the heavyweight division are not fat and slow and will not let him win the first two rounds off leg kicks and distance jabs. That was a hell of a style mismatch last night.
  5. OH, and T-Loc's Sonoran hot dogs lives up to the hype. I gotta find their truck soon.
  6. Yeah I paid 12 dollars for each draft, I ain't throwing shit. Mayyyybe if someone scores a banger, but not for a song. It is one of the cooler ones we do, but after Saturday's display of ineptness I was not a fan. On top of being down 1-0, having to look at that prick from Colorado, and the prick ref, and a Redes grass kick... was not a happy camper, then they play Cuervos and I caught a face full of water from somebody. All I needed was somebody to spill nachos on me and I probably would've never gone back to see the 3 on Wednesday.
  7. Neither of us was talking about the SS as a whole, or the environment they create, we were just talking about that one song. It's ok to not like one song/show the SS does. That's just like, our opinion man.
  8. I don't hate it, but I get the sentiment, it is corny. It's another "look at us, let's stroke ourselves off" moment while the game is going on. It's not like the team gets anything from the lights, they're literally playing the game itself while it goes on. The SS also does the "saw em off" sway during the Cuervos chant, before they go wild, and that part I did hate, bc you know why. Anyway, finally saw my first 3 goals in person last night and was very gruntled. Poch finally showing himself in some good places, and was playing fast and crisp last night. Good to see Pereira back too, hopefully he plays more Saturday, along with Driussi. Let the ascent begin!
  9. It seemed like John Collins was the only real target that was "gettable" for SA, or at least discussed. But it seems most likely that he said he ain't doing it. So who else would have the big wins been? Judging by the two expiring contracts, it absolutely is a chess move for cap space next year, and we get a 1st rounder out of it (good luck on DeMar carrying them to the playoffs in 2024-25. Could be a decent pick. We all know how desirable SA is to big-time free agents....... so I'm not ready to trash PATFO just yet. Now should they have gotten more from DeMar a while back? Maybe..... Edit: but damn, I did want Kai Jones. We need size.
  10. Obvio. He'll always be a Spur. Glad he's getting a shot at another playoff run or two before retiring a Spur.
  11. This. Felt like heading to Alamo yesterday and took a quick look at the reviews to make sure it wasn't dogshit, and yeah I was more than satisfied. Don't know shit about Arthurian anything but I can pay attention to a story just fine.
  12. As for the futbol, this is my 4th game in person and I've seen 0 goals. It got to the point last night where I couldn't even join the crowd in getting excited about us getting near the box... You just knew somebody was going to fuck it up. And they did.
  13. Dude was being a prick, Im not crying for him. Waited til the stretcher came out then hopped up quickly and walked along the supporters section smirking at the whole crowd. The ref didn't respect us last night and the opponents definitely don't. But if your sensibilities are offended, don't worry, the Verdes leaders were all over it and work with security to get clowns like that kicked out.
  14. Greek smoke tweet from Precourt, looks like this thing is finalized. Haven't seen the highlights yet, but him being our best player immediately is definitely something. I'll be at the game on Wednesday, maybe just maybe he's on the field.
  15. Train is super convenient for me coming from the East side. You can find the schedule on CapMetro's website. But last game I rode back with a friend who just parked at Domain and walked over. I imagine with a late kickoff it might not be too terrible to drive and park tonight.
  16. Agreed. Pereira allows Poche and/or Fagundez to play where they're best at, and Manneh isn't in the "he just needs more PT to shine" stage of his career, he just isn't the solution to an absent Gallagher.
  17. Grew up in Southeast, and although it's a pretty basic area that's not really "desirable", I also don't think it's the shithole some ppl on this thread do. My pops bought his house near Hobby and has been there since 2000. The neighborhood (Glen Valley) has never really been violent, and even though Bellfort is full of apartments I never felt scared walking or running through any of those neighborhoods around Bellfort/Broadway. Don't think he'll stay there now that he's retired, but it's not because it's turning into Detroit, it's just more of a traffic and too many people thing. You could do worse, it's not The Wire in all the neighborhoods outside of the West and North.
  18. Had no idea if they were allowed, but I've snuck into two games with a lighter just with a little sleight of hand at the metal detector . You gotta want that smoke bad enough.
  19. That deserves 3 alrights.
  20. Redes is rough to watch. Hope he tightens up. Also, it's the same story all year..... and only a week until league play resumes.... are we getting a 10 or not? Because I'm starting to think no. And not a 2-year project from Ligue 2.
  21. Good work on the leg breakdowns. I think Conor would've tossed the kicking gameplan in round 2, there was checks and counters coming at him after the first couple leg kicks Conor attempted. It wasn't going to be a winning strategy. I was more interested in the boxing exchanges, since I felt like that was Conor's only hope to win, his quickness/speed and that left hand. Dustin threw 3 or 4 counter lefts after reading Conor's 1-2 (jab-left hand), he was slipping Conor's signature left hand had firing a straight left of his own, and it looked dangerous (think it only caught once or twice). Not sure what else Conor had in his bag after Round 1, while also getting pounded on the ground for a couple minutes, but it didn't look good. Hate to get robbed of him getting put to sleep again, but his little temper tantrum with Rogan was almost as satisfying. Conor needs Dustin to lose next fight if he wants to return to UFC. I don't see him taking a fight with Gaethje or Chandler or whoever else... he'll go fight a Paul brother and live Colby Covington's dream life.
  22. It's nobody's fault but mine (but that first goal was def Stuver, and the 2nd was def Berhalter), but I've been to 3 games this year, and I'll let yall guess what 3. Not giving them any more money without peeking at the starting lineups first. We needed Poch, we definitely couldn't do without Pereira with Poch out. That was the moment. Manneh ran really fast with the ball for like 20 minutes in game 2 and people loved him, but he is not the guy we need to help us fix offensive problems.
  23. I just had a Houstonian friend of mine remind me he's serious about coming into Austin for the Dynamo game. No mention of watching them play in Houston.... but after the videos of our first few games have made the rounds, why wouldn't they want to come check out Q2 for themselves.
  24. Jesus. Heriberto. Cristo. This stage might be getting too big for his shtick.
  25. I will back off of Pochettino for one week. If he is allowed to move forward and can find space like that in the midfield every week (I realize not all teams will allow that in the midfield), he will be just fine for us. I've been calling for his head for weeks but today was different. He's still not better than Cecilio though. Cecigol had 2 assists himself tonight.
