  1. I saw this the other day and can't remember the whole list, but I've seen the majority of the Top 10 and thought that was alright. I don't remember enough about Lost to know if #1 is a decent choice. #45 and #44 were both my favorite episodes of R&M and The Leftovers so I liked those choices, but they'd both be in my Top 20 personally.
  2. I'd bet my USC tickets that Calvin Anderson will be starting the first game at LT. Absolutely nothing to it that he's not at LT1 on the 3rd day of practice. He will have to "earn" it the same way they're making Sam "earn" that starting spot at QB. We all knew (even since last year) that if they're both healthy Sam will be starting, regardless of all the competition talk. Herman's handling of that situation should tell you all you need to know about how he'll handle Anderson. Kirk Johnson hype from OB? Consider me intrigued. Not hard to do going from 0 expectations to maybe 1 expectation now. 5 guys that can run makes me hopeful.
  3. Made me kind of giddy. Not a fan of his at all.
  4. Really important fight for Mikey last night, and he passed the test. Enough of the random/obscure European champions, took on a rangy undefeated champ in Easter and won. I thought it was funny that Adrien Broner apparently offered his trainer to Easter for this fight, and the result was damn near the exact same. Try to outbox Mikey with speed and jabs for a couple rounds (while Mikey mostly bides time trying to figure out his approach), then taste some big power and clam up for the rest of the fight. Easter may have lasted 2-3 rounds longer before shelling up, but those last 3 rounds or so he was hardly throwing, hands high and scurrying along the ropes. Guess that trainer really has no idea how to beat an elite fighter.
  5. Let's compare what the Reality TV Star who has never had to work to live a day in their life and has a propensity for cameras in the bedroom (who now resides in the Oval Office) has in common with Kim Kardashian, compared to Ocasio-Cortez.
  6. Finished it yesterday. Really liked the season, some great characters to follow.
  7. I actually think he's going to come back and be just fine. Because he's a piece of shit and this whole debacle is a fuckery and it would be what happens. Part of me also hopes that he does it for half a year and then a bit more of his hamstrings degeneratize(?) and then he's out for another playoff run. But that's just me being petty, which I will be forever because fuck him that's why.
  8. F y'all, she's fire. Hope she gets clean, but also hope I find those internet stories of her...
  9. Surprised that weird ending didn't annoy more people here. It annoyed me. I thought the first hour was great, then it just got weird. Literal "work horses"? Ugly as hell too... The satire and social commentary was cool, I'm with it, but that ending just got weird to me. Gave it a 'B' because of that.
  10. I'm 2 episodes in as well. Great start, I'm completely hooked to this team, but I can't tell who I like and don't like yet. The coach's pre-game speech before game 1 was intense and memorable, I'm thinking he is a hell of a motivator after all, then they get smacked. Week 2 I'm starting to come around to Malik Henry, he really does seem smart as shit, but then he reminds you he's just a 19-20 year old kid after all, who thinks he's a lot smarter than he really is. He's smart, and seems like a student of the game, but through 2 episodes he's still just a teenager.
  11. Thanks, 90 minutes isn't bad at all. Probably can swing a night so going to consider doing that. Thanks, that's great insight, I've seen the layout of the city on a map but you can't get practicality insight on a map.
  12. Personally I gotta hear both sides. Because apparently one side is a grown "man" bad-mouthing decisions of a 21-year old "man." Elliott definitely should be more careful about what he says about our school, but I don't expect nearly as much thought from a semi-educated young man not far out of his teenage years than I do a 40-something well-educated Mensa member in Herman.
  13. Yeah this is really stupid to use a Kawhi-based team to project against a team that didn't have Kawhi to get to 46 wins last year.
  14. I'm ok with the trade. Wanted all the Lakers young guns, but if this is the best trade we got, it does improve us imo. LMA led us to the playoffs last year without a true #2 scoring option, and that frustrated me to no end (seeing LMA get doubled with nobody else able to hit water out of a boat for large stretches). This solves that. We lose some defense, but DJ might just develop into a legitimate defender that can take whichever of the PG or SG is more potent offensively. I've been firmly on the anti-Danny train for a couple of seasons now, but man I'm more sad than I expected to see that true Spur go. He's not going to be forgotten soon in SA.
  15. Just looked him up. He's 22 years old and coming into his 3rd year in the league. Was a Top 10 pick (9) out of Utah, was the Pac-12 player of the year his sophomore year. Played a bit (amidst frequent trips to D League) his rookie year, but last year seemed to be the first big off the bench, over 18 minutes a game, 6.9pts/4.8rbs/1.2 blks. Seems to be a dunk & block center (shot over 60% FG) according to his Youtube highlights. I'm surprised he's being considered an afterthought considering the strides his stats made after his rookie year and seems like he still has a lot to learn. We also really needed a big.
  16. Any thoughts on Ukranian Village vs. Pilsen? Looking up some Air BnB's for early October trip with family. Houses look good (and affordable), but everybody says they're walking distance from "trendy" bars and restaurants etc. Any other considerations? (We're brown as fuck so I think we'll blend into Pilsen nicely) Also, we're beginning to get worried that 5 days might be a bit much (I'm happy just hanging around eating and drinking after day 3, but alas not everyone is), any recommendations for a day trip outside of the area? Milwaukee doable and/or worth it?
  17. I don't think I've assumed another driver on the road knows how to merge or follow a Yield sign for about 3 years (and it probably took me too long at that). I will say that there are a lot of silly yield signs at freeway entrances around Austin still. Maybe a 'yield' was suitable in 1992, but we're way past the days where you could come to a stop at a freeway entrance ramp and wait until it's "safe" to enter. Any time between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. you will be waiting there forever and have a line of cars 10 deep honking at you before you're able to find enough space to merge carefully. No thanks, cross those fingers and step on the gas, see you on the other side.
  18. That division could be so good if people would just fight each other. I'll take Porter over Garcia too. I don't believe that Garcia has the heart nor drive to survive a fight with Porter. Survive as in win, don't see him getting knocked out either.
  19. I think he meant trade Capela for the cap space, not talent for talent. Because the Rockets front office should also be fired for offering Capela for Butler. Not that they have any more realistic or enticing options to offer. Wish something would happen already. Maybe this is why I'm not an NBA GM, but all this waiting has brought my price down, I'd be happy with Saric/Covington/1st round pick. Or even Ingram/"B" prospect/pick. I've softened on our impending "doom," as a playoff team returning essentially the same team, with a PG who is due to make a 3rd year jump, while retaining Rudy Gay (which I did not expect at all) in a 2nd year of the Spurs' system, I don't see how we don't improve with an extra talented piece or two. Kawhi played 9 games last year and we haven't lost a huge part of our playoff team (unless you count Tony as that, which I don't).
  20. Agree with the sentiment, but disagree on the hip hop details. Chicks love J. Cole and Childish in my experience. Saw Childish at ACL before Outkast's performance and the crowd was littered with blonde college chicks. White people love Donald Glover. And women from Houston like UGK and DJ Screw now that they're gone and reached legendary status, not sure that they did when they were here though.
  21. Absolutely agree with this. He had a blistering start to the season, but didn't nearly reach blistering after he came back from injury after the all-star. He's pretty decent in the system on a capable bench, but I haven't seen much strides since his first year or two. His shot looked as terrible as ever at times this year (was it the playoffs when he consistently found himself open in the corner yet bricked 3 after 3?). I like him, he fits the system, but am ambivalent on resigning. I have my doubts that another team's chemistry and construction will fit his skill-set, but I do know that he's slow and I still operate on the assumption that Memphis plays slow as fuck, so it might work... if we have the space, match. If we don't, thanks for the memories of decent bench play and at times heady moves, but he was no Boris "heady", he was above average.
  22. Just be patient. Magic will blow his load, he has much more pressure than we do to make this happen now. Ingram, Kuzma and a couple 1st rounders and I'm green-lighting. My dream scenario is we get Ingram, Kuzma, Randle and a 1st and then turn around and sign LeBron and win the 2019, 2020 and 2021 championships while Kawhi gets to show up in a shitload of awkward Big Baller Brand videos.
  23. I think he's quickly reached replacement-level after last year (especially, but maybe even from 2 years ago). But with a healthy team, I still think he's a solid starter and obviously a plus defender and still dangerous as an outlet for Kawhi/LMA double-teams, etc. It's funny just how wanting to be on a team can win you so much favor. He didn't have to take 10-mil, but he did, because he genuinely likes being a Spur, and as a Spurs fanatic, I'll never forget that, even though I've been public about wishing for a trade last year (Avery Bradley).
  24. The first thing I thought reading that tweet was that they were probably misinterpreting the situation. I follow the news on this type of stuff semi-closely and I've never heard people complain about policies that "affect black and brown people a lot".... it is usually because they "affect black and brown people disproportionately." One of those claims is bullshit and silly and unproven, the other claim is worth looking at and worth action over.
