  1. Absent in body, but present in spirit. Animal spirit. Crazy ass towel waving, mullet shaving animal spirit.
  2. Thanks for posting this information -- I didn't realize until TK mentioned in the 2019 thread that there was a dedicated PWO thread. Very informative.
  3. How many PWOs is it now? Ten or more? Herman is recruiting depth to put pressure on the depth for petessakes. Between the calculated PWO recruiting and promotion (each guy gettin a photo set and internet shout out for committing), and Herman's JUCO and CC scouting, he's proving over and over that he's in an elite class of recruiters. I don't know if advanced football stats has a WAR equivalent, but Gary Johnson Calvin must have had decent WARs. Those two were massive recruiting victories. Obviously his staff is doing good work in traditional HS recruiting, too. I guess there are no surprises for Wednesday (at least none that we know of yet).
  4. The Thujone recruiting barometer is applicable here.
  5. This WR class is the 2018 Safety class of 2019.
  6. Hell yeah, Hook 'em, Big Jake. Great day for Texas football.
  7. I wondered about Ricky, too. I doubt that he was considered Top 5 at the time, given that he was the #2 FB as ranked by Tom Lemming. https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/perspective-1995-recruiting-rankings-position
  8. My wish for 2019: Longhorns All Access features Colt McCoy throwing passes to Bru McCoy during a practice session with a twist: Colt is on land, but Bru is speeding by standing in a bass boat.

  10. That seems like a good number of spring enrollees. Good to see three LBs arriving now.

  12. Good god what a bunch of goobers. They are perfect candidates for drunken bar brawls and early morning barfing competitions in Norman.
  13. Holy shit that's a thing of beauty.
  14. 45% Frank Gore. 45% Jamario Thomas. 10% Ryan Moats.
  15. Sounds like patience is wearing thin at Purple Baylor.
  16. Look- we have to stop being pussies about the way other schools recruit Texas targets. Yes, OU is going to throw everything they've got at McCoy -- bacon cobb salad, supreme dippers platter, 2-for-1 entrees with free appetizer and dessert. If Texas panics and tries to interfere with that kind of spread, we're fucked, and other recruits will sense the desperation. I think you need to take a deep breath, let the food poisoning runs its course, and in due time, McCoy will be ours.
  17. Anything's possible. Hell, Desmond Harrison is a starting left tackle in the NFL. As a 24 year old rookie.
  18. Are we talking golden, losing-to-Maryland piss or more crystal clear, surprise-everyone-destroy-USC piss?
  19. If Texas is losing to USC at halftime, throw Heard in there. A run-first option offense with Heard at QB has got to be better than Watson 2.0 (The Beckening). Salvage the parts of the offense that Heard knows and fit his skill set. Soften up that defense with Heard and RBs, and eventually the defense will open up enough for Heard to complete a pass or two. Also Heard behind the 2018 line is a better situation than he had in 2015.
  20. Norvell taking the broken pieces of Watson's tinker toys and assembling something close to an offense. Honorable mention. Maybe Herman could take a page from 2015. Or from his own success at other stops with run-pass QBs. They need to tear up whatever dumbshit 4" binder full of sideways passing plays Beck put together during the off season. This shit offense is fooling nobody. The QB clapping sequence is a massive power down.
  21. Relevant topic given tomorrow's opponent...
  22. It's pretty ingenious if you think about it. What big time coach wants to hear that he's not earning his paycheck? Jimbo is an honorable devoted family man, cut from our cloth, so he wouldn't coast on the guarantee of his payday. But even if he were tempted to, the simple fact remains: from a pure pride standpoint, no top 5-all time coach like Jimbo Fisher wants to be perceived as not earning his paycheck. That alone, in and of itself, is pure motivation to take us back to the promised land of competing for national championships year in, year out. He has every reason to earn his paycheck and secure his legacy as a top 3 all time college football SEC head coach.
