  1. Italy clocks in with 651 in the last 24. Down, slightly, from 793.
  2. So the biggest thing holding us back now is that we didn't have a plan. We didn't see this coming. There is no off the shelf, do this and get out of jail plan. Lock everybody down, then what? Nobody really knows. The economy won't handle more than a couple of months, then all bets are off. We aren't even on 100% lockdown in the US and we've already decided to spend 25% of our GDP. Next month, we'll spend another amount, the month after that we all go bankrupt. There is no plan. Nobody knows what's next. I think we have a good outcome, both medically and economically. But it's best to plan for the worst and hope for the best at this point. And if i haven't said it enough, cardio is rule #1.
  3. I interpret this negatively. Obviously, deaths are increasing. The numbers are really bad. So the government feels obligated to tighten the noose. Who knows where it goes from here. From what I've seen, people are complying. There isn't a lot of spring break partying or anything like it, not that I've seen anyway. People are pretty spooked, that's a thing you guys haven't seen yet. We'll see what it looks like in a couple of weeks. Damn I wish I spoke Italian. i'm not an expert on Italian culture but I expect it all to end badly.
  4. Why would anyone think they could have a civil conversation with any of you? I'm not a Trump supporter, by the way. But there is no way to discuss anything in even a halfway reasonable manner. I've described myself as not Team Red or Team Blue, but Team America, going back way before Trump. And I'm not welcome here. You've collectively decided to abandon the entirety of American heritage, tradition, and its Constitution. You've made it your aim to offend every group possible at every opportunity. (I have a mild admiration for that part.) But mostly you've become an echo chamber of hatred and lunacy. You're in an intellectual dungeon. Until you make your escape from this prison of stupidity, nobody wants to talk with you people.
  5. So are they going to borrow $5 trillion dollars, or just print it? I'm guessing they aren't going to borrow it.
  6. I'll wait for more data, and I don't dispute the existence of young, healthy patients, but I think the incidence of complications in the young and healthy is very, very low.
  7. Losing 10-42 to A&M doesn't sound good. Neither does losing to SMU 14-44. We only lost to OU by seven, so moral victory? Also lost to Air Force 16-24. Defintely not good.
  8. Structurally, there are many years worth of bourbon already in barrels. Prices will be reasonable. Even better for scotch, as the lower temperatures requires longer on the wood. All of the distilleries were in the middle of expanding. Macallan, for example, doubled their capacity. Good times are coming.
  9. Even gold is down. Everybody is selling, everybody needs cash. It took ten years from the last crash to create enough jobs for everyone. The damage is literally incalculable. Mark Cuban donating money now is like the Christmas Truce of WWI.
  10. I'll repeat my earlier prediction. Get out your Dow 10,000 hats. You''re practicing a cognitive bias known as anchoring.
  11. We should start a betting pool on the first government to get overthrown.
  12. I believe they just changed their reporting to "a shitload".
  13. We're not getting out any time soon I guess. Fuck. Sorry for being selfish.
  14. This is the really fascinating thing. They declared control. And put out numbers indicating no transmission. I too believed, albeit briefly, their numbers. Naw, no way. They're just gonna burn the bodies. Just brutal. The most brutal shit they've done since the Great Leap Forward. I don't want to believe it, but damn.
  15. I don't have to outrun the zombies, I just have to outrun you.
  16. So if we do a 2 trillion dollar stimulus, had an existing trillion dollar deficit, and probably lose a trillion dollars of tax revenue (at least), we'll show at least $4 trillion federal deficit this year. Maybe closer to $5 trillion, or 25% of GDP.
  17. Sure. You're still looking at seven figure deaths. It's just like the flu, except more transmissible and 20x as fatal.
