  1. The failing NY Times had to admit the alleged "victim" of seeing a penis doesn't even remember the event. Let's just ignore for the moment the eternal damnation that goes along with actually seeing a human penis. Was the penis even seen? https://thefederalist.com/2019/09/16/new-york-times-admits-alleged-victim-kavanaugh-incident-no-recollection/ #fakenews
  2. Spot crude is up $6 or ~10%. For the record, we are already involved on the Saudi side of things. It's not unlike allying with Saddam back in the 80's.
  3. I was under the impression we don't play defense.
  4. In all seriousness, I don't think LSU is as good as they looked against us. Our offense and their defense are both legit. Their opposites are not. Burrow played out of his mind, but he's not a completely different person. He'll mean revert over the course of the season. Their offense looked world class. I don't believe it. Our defense wasn't good. Talented? Yes. But we covered poorly. I think we'll get better, but our secondary was ate up and Burrow ate some Scooby Snacks. Burrow just threw an obvious pick to NW State.
  5. Well OK. Lets take a look at your situation. Germany is smaller than Texas and has twice the population, which makes trains more sensible. Where Germany has ten dollar gas, we pay $2.50 for gas. So trains are MORE EXPENSIVE and cars are LESS EXPENSIVE so you, me and everyone else is like "fuck it I'm driving". We could raise gas to ten dollars a gallon, that would make trains more affordable while decreasing everyone's standard of living, great idea. Wuppertal to Frankfurt Airport is not thirty minutes. As the crow flies, it's 104 miles. You don't average 200+ miles per hour. It's 1.5 hours on the train. The train neither starts nor ends at your destination. A car drives you from where you are, to where you want to go. Basically, there's no time savings. Trains make no sense at all. Bro I'm just gonna assume you're drunk.
  6. It's ESPN. If it's terrible, they can't not do it.
  7. Indeed. I was so "triggered" by 9/11 and the deaths of 3,000 of my fellow Americans that I joined the Army. Any more 9/11 jokes you want to share with the audience?
  8. You do you, NY Times. Ilham Omar said it was "some people" who "did something". Apparently it wasn't even people, it was the airplanes. And how does 2,977 become 2,000?
  9. If you need a clarification, I was referring to Parliament. https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1175767/boris-johnson-news-nigel-farage-brexit-party-general-election-John-Curtice Tony Blair says the same, even though he's a staunch remainer. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-eu-blair-idUSKCN1VN0QW This is why they should have done the vote of no confidence earlier. The deal would have gotten the second referendum. They basically rejected the 2nd referendum, it's dead. It's a very reasonable path and they rejected it. I don't understand their motivations, but there isn't some huge push for another vote. Betting odds for a revote are like 20 to 1.
  10. I stand corrected. As I understand it, there are 650 geographic constituencies (we would call then districts) each of which elects one MP. The winner is whomever has the most votes. The result is that the combined (Tory+Brexit) advantage of 21 points likely gives them a massive overall win. The Parliament elects the PM, who is never voted on. So where the US has only one nationally elected official, the British have none.
  11. Hahahaha CNN, I wish I could quit you. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/cortneyobrien/2019/09/10/cia-rebuke-wasnt-enoughgop-rep-wants-investigation-into-cnn-spy-story-n2552866
  12. It's a parliamentary system. Do you know what that means? It most certainly does not mean that Tories get 33% of the seats.
  13. When the law was passed, Boris immediately stated that he would ask for an extension "over my dead body" or they could "pry Brexit from my cold dead hands" or some other colorful language. That's why they need to get rid of him. If they don't, Brexit happens.
  14. I didn't say that remain would win. I said they could have had their referendum. I have no idea how it would turn out. i just know it wont happen. Brexit is scheduled for October 31. Why did the Parliament pass a law to try and stop it? Because it happens on Oct 31 if theu do nothing. None of my facts are wrong. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_next_United_Kingdom_general_election Again, they can stop it whenever they want to. They've proposed other PMs than Jeremy, and can't get a deal. You know damn well why they didn't go to an election. And so does every halfway intelligent person.
  15. Basically what happened was Parliament had plenty of time over the last several months to come up with a plan to stop Brexit. For months, they could have done their "vote of no confidence", obviously these 21+ defections didn't just happen overnight. There were many different paths to stopping Brexit. But they didn't agree on one. The most recent and likely path, which would have guaranteed to a 100% certainty the stoppage of Brexit, involved putting Jeremy in charge of a caretaker government in advance of a general election and a second refendum. This was met with a collective "fuck you Jeremy". I don't know why they did this. It would have stopped Brexit and given them the referendum they claim to want. Jeremy's a piece of shit, but it would have been very short term, and it was the only way to stop Brexit. Labour is clearly the 2nd biggest party. 100% Brexit would not have happened. Now they pass a law "forcing" the PM to ask for a delay, and BoJo says fuck off he won't do it. Well Parliament can replace him, call a vote of no confidence, call for a general election. Weirdly, they voted on a general election this evening. The motion was not passed. Weird. All these people complaining about BoJo and coups and democracy, and they turn around and reject, categorically, a general election. So weird. Why did they want to keep BoJo as PM? Sausage is being made. And sausage is, generally speaking, fantastic. Even the black pudding. Good stuff. But seriously, there is an electoral majority for Brexit. If they go to an election, or even a referendum, Brexit wins. That's why they're doing this dance, pretending there's a coup and a great outrage. It's a form of surrender. I doesn't mean Brexit is right or good, but it does appear to signifiy giving up. If they had the votes, it would be easy, just do the election, plenty of time to stop it. They don't, so they're pissing in everyone's Wheaties. But it's all sturm und drang, Brexit appears to be happening.
  16. Meltdown threads are best threads. You're not wrong though.
