  1. If the pool at the Hotel St. George is open and weather cooperates, it's worth a stop. I think non-guests have to pay. Has a bar and food. Check out the Balmorhea state park website as they've had lots of closures for repairs in recent years and you don't want to make that drive for nothing. Well worth it if it's open and warm enough to swim.
  2. We stayed outside the city center, kind of in the suburbs, a few years ago and used the public busses to get to and from our place. Quite easy and reliable. Used cabs from time to time to. They weren't big on Uber/Lyft if I remember correctly, strong taxi union or something.

  4. Actually it wasn't Natty Light, it was Keystone Light. Only beer the guy would drink - strange choice in beverages but we still drank them all while walking down the Strip.
  5. Once had a buddy check 3/4 of a case of Natty Light at the Hard Rock for a couple hours while we played blackjack. We were drunken stumbling from casino to casino and he was tired of dragging it around. Won some money, grabbed the case, tipped the bellhop 5 bucks and off we went. Classy.
  6. I think he’s selling pillows on Fox News
  7. Thoroughly enjoyed both Deer Tick and TBT last night in Austin. Stubbs was packed and everyone seemed to have a good time. Enjoyed when both bands played some Townes van Zandt between sets.
  8. Sounds awesome. Can't wait for tonight!

Is Valencia a CB? Got that impression from how they described him as someone who would allow our offensive minded midfielders (Ring?) to play more forward.
  10. I think so. I mean, I guess? Been to Vegas 20 times since then and never once thought about going back to see Love.
  11. Absinthe for sure, if y'all have dirty senses of humor and don't mind being around your kids for sex jokes. We took our kids and all had a blast. That said, I've seen Love and enjoyed it and I'm not a Beetles fan. It's full of good music and visuals. Once was enough though.

  14. Gonna see Deer Tick and Trampled by Turtles at Stubbs tomorrow night. Alt-J and Portugal. The Man in Houston in March. Will be in Colorado Springs in May and hoping to see something at Red Rocks since I’ve never been, but no plans yet.
  15. Since we couldn’t see Spoon tonight, going to the Ghostland show at Emos instead. Nice consolation prize. Looking forward to it.
  16. Fuck. This sucks!
  17. This really really makes me sad. This was going to be my most fun NYE in years. Ugh.
  18. Section 83, row 1. Will throw in 2 Center Court Club tickets and a parking pass (you'd have to drive to me in S. Austin near Bowie HS to get the parking pass since it's a hard copy but the tickets transfer electronically - parking is only $10 in the area so I wouldn't bother unless you already live close).$25 for 2 or $30 for 3. Shoot me a PM.
  19. Big fan. Saw him a couple months ago at Scoot Inn. Dude is legit even if it feels like a bit of a shtick playing such retro stuff these days. Guy is good though and committed to the genre. Personally I love it.
  20. Looks like I picked a good weekend to go to Vegas
  21. This thread is stressing me out. Hope you get to do at least some fun stuff. We’re hoping to hit Scotland in July for the Open Championship at St Andrews and some random wandering (wife wants to see the Isle of Skye) and then maybe meet up with our son and his fiancé in Barcelona for a few days. I have zero confidence that any of that will happen, but you never know. Gotta try at least.
  22. Believe I used Open Table, but calling, using concierge also good ideas if you can't find an available time. They are both pretty busy so I'd definitely get on this now if they're booking this far in advance.
  23. Very good. It had the unfortunate scenario of being the Saturday dinner after my Friday dinner at Carbone, which was maybe the best dinner I've had in the past decade. Still, it was good and a fun place for a group.
  24. It’s settled. Milos it is.
