I wish Busio had 2 more inches and 25 more pounds. Like that guy. But he’s basically a Gold Cup player.

I like Yedlin. Forgot he was on the squad.

The problem with this lineup given the way they’ve been playing is there is absolutely no one coming off the bench that excites me, particularly if Morris plays the way he did against Canada.

    5-4-1 is such chickenshit soccer.

Long is just so so bad. Do NYRB fans like him on their team. Last good Aaron Long USMNT game where he rates higher than a 5?

So where does Brandan Craig fit in? It seems he is pretty green, but played well in Argentina. Can't tell if he's a CB, outside back or CDM. If that last one, seems he'd be buried a bit. Maybe plan is to do kinda what Ring has been doing for us?

Are they not both tall, direct, left wingers? I get Cowell played up top some in U-20 World Cup but he’s LW at San Hose and Hoppe played that spot just this last January for USMNT. In any event, they both seem good and strong on the ball but just lacking that last bit of skill our A team has. Will be interested to see if Hoppe gets any run this year back at Middlesbrough or if he is stuck in Scotland again.

Am I wrong to think Cowell looks a lot like Matt Hoppe did that summer he got a ton of run with USMNT? I remember liking that dude back them - lots of great runs, strong on ball, often can’t complete the play. That’s not a knock on Cowell. I remember really liking Hoppe that summer. He seemed to hit a wall fast given he’s stuck in non-Rangers/Celtic Scotland now.

If AC Milan get Musah, too, Surly road trip? Milan is sneaky fun.

I like Busio. He’s tiny but he’s been effective this tourney.

    Lima!!!!!!! Finally!!!!
  15. So after Brooks, the Aussie and these trades what do we have left to spend? One of you cap nerds is keeping track. Generally speaking, the floor and ceiling for this team are about as wide as I have ever seen. Outside of injuries, we aren’t likely doing better than Denver, LAL, Phoenix, GS and probably Sac. But we could be anywhere from 5th to second to last in conference if things go really badly. If we have the right dudes and coach, no reason we can’t pull something akin to Sactown of last year or Memphis 2 years ago kind of leap.

Robbie Robertson is challenging Zardes for ineptness with the ball at his feet in/near the box.
  17. I remember thinking that too, then I saw who was left off and it actually made sense.
  18. Of course there’s a better than non-zero chance. I get it would be ideal not to have done the third year, and agree it was the price of doing business. But it still isn’t long term (that Bane contract terrifies me). If we get Lopez and jettison KPJ so his minutes aren’t eating into others’ pt I am gruntled. From my perspective, next year is the Green litmus test. He ought to improve efficiency and production together. If he doesn’t start on that Fox/Booker/Murray trajectory (read: trajectory) next year I don’t think he is ideal long term. I am still not convinced he is a winning player. But hey, Booker got better when they jettisoned Bledsoe, Fox when Halliburton left. Maybe KPJ gone helps Green. I do worry about FVV continuing to be a chucker though.
  19. I like all of this frankly. We get two years to figure things out then have a $40m contract to trade with maybe one or two of these other guys that aren’t key (they aren’t all going to hit) for a bad ass FA in a sign and trade the summer of 2025. Need to get rid of KPJ.
  20. I know it makes sense for the Lakers to lowball Austin Reaves until someone else sets the market, but geez
  21. Every episode was named after something on the menu in finale, I believe. Even Pop. I didn’t love the texts on Marcus’ phone at end. We already have the main character conflicted between those he cares about and the job. I don’t need the other. The biggest mistake even good TV shows make is contrived conflict/drama. When I am watching a show like The Bear or any good TV show and I am trained to expect the other shoe to drop when something good happens, because it always does in TV drama. And then it doesn’t. That is some of my favorite TV, frankly. Richie’s arc in Forks is a great example of that.
  22. They have tricks now so it isn’t all one take tracking like it used to be. But I still love those real time tracking shots.

I presumed as much. But I haven’t seen Stuver get as pumped for CB plays as he did for 3 or 4 of Rado’s clears, etc. If Busquets, after Chiellini, comes to MLS that starts opening the door for other lesser known solid guys in their low 30s. Is Azpilicueta REALLY going to Italy?
  24. I am on episode 9 and it’s like they went through my 2008 CD collection for this show. Decemberists was a nice surprise.
