  1. Not sure it deserves a net, but ok. “Wrong” isn’t the right word. Early morning airport post. The point was that I would hope that coming after contraception is a bridge too far for the right from a purely practical perspective. But I wouldn’t put it past this SCOTUS to use some new inane state statute to kneecap Griswold. You can tell Alito wants to and that is my concern and bewilderment with relying solely on a strict reading of the constitution.
  2. I just don’t understand the ban on contraception. I get the arguments against abortion and Plan B. They are wrong and steeped in bad public policy, and ultimately a way for ‘Pubs to ensure single issue voters vote for them to enact rest of shitty platform. But at core, I understand the moral objection to abortion. But on contraception, I’m not seeing the “moral” issue that would drive actually pushing legislation through I get that the autistic wing of the GOP can’t handle what they feel is bad law, griswold, remaining out there as a springboard for other things. But a ban on contraception? Maybe I am naive but I don’t see the upside for the GOP and if anything they are all about upside and winning elections. There is a school of thought that having Roe as a permanent boogie man was actually preferred to maintain those single issue voters. Will be curious how that plays out from campaign and turnout perspective. But those that think Griswold is bad law can go fuck themselves. It was a necessary decision to navigate flaws in the constitution.
  3. It was shitty tree sex Dances With Wolves. Beat for beat. Dammit. Need to read thread first.
  4. It’s a tryptich, right? 1 How he was corrupted. 2. What he was like as a corrupt cop and how he got caught. 3. Prosecution.
  5. I am unable to watch game but is this a rock fight? Good for Memphis.

So in the field, I don’t really want to see Lima or Redes anymore on starting XI or close games, particularly if we are behind. I like our squad and we are deep enough that they don’t need to see the field that much. What happened to Kipp Keller? Did he get hurt? He seemed solid earlier in year.

    Not sure why Lima plays.
  8. He wanted to kick the shit out of that escort horse, too. The Rick Vaughn of horses.
  9. My 4 year old picked it. Biggest number in the race. 21.
  10. It seems these two guys are just saying the same things as the two crazies two years ago that lost in much more subtle ways. Good strategy. Maybe I’m wrong. That said, not thrilled with a >20 year incumbent on a school board no matter how well meaning.
  11. This show is batshit insane. I was a little skeptical mid season, but it kinda doesn’t give a fuck which I respect.

Biggest game to date on Sunday, right? Three points here would be absolutely massive given the distance it creates from LA Galaxy. LAFC have Philly tomorrow, which probably results in them scoring a bench goal post 75th minute to win, but should be a tough game for them, too,
  13. That wasn’t the finale was it? Weird place to end. I probably won’t watch season 2 if that was it.

Come on you Loons! Or something like that. Next week is huge. Let’s keep it up!
  15. Poot, too. Enjoyed it. It was definitely the most Wire-like drama Simon has done (obv - Baltimore cops). But I mean from perspective of quasi-doc feel, like you are in the room of a real conversation between commissioner and the lead woman from the advocacy group, the background noises in the street during those scenes, etc. Was definitely hitting a nostalgic itch. Look forward to how it's executed from here on out...
  16. No worries at all. Thanks. The Dr. team we are working with is kicking around Mayo Clinic, which we'll do if they can make the case. Honestly, things seem to be getting a bit better outside the constant night sweats that are far beyond ordinary course hormonal/menopausal. But seems to be one thing or another every couple of weeks so just waiting for the next thing....
  17. Austin. Second opinion on which part, though? It seems to be many different opinions triangulating on one auto-immune issue or another.
  18. Man.... reading through those ostensibly private messages you can better discern the crazies and true believers from the opportunists and grifters. Seem like there are more of former than latter and I'm not sure that's better or worse.
  19. Fucking Dynasty started in 1981. So many weird unnecessary mistakes and white lies. That said, I love it.

I’ve spent the last two Sunday afternoons rooting futilely against LAFC to hopefully have us secure first place. This is fun.
  21. Next step. Adding that specialist to the pile (neurologist, hematologist, rheumatoligst, gastro, etc.) Above was more of a vent. The House comparisons are real. It just takes 5-6 doctors and a few years, as opposed to House, some residents and 48 commercial interrupted minutes.
  22. Just found this thread. We've been dealing with trying to ID wife's autoimmune issues for last two years. I feel like I am in a multi-year episode of House with 5 different doctors that barely talk to each other and just send her back and forth. After our daughter was born in late 2013, about 6 months later she had acute pancreatic failure that severely limited her diet and she lost a ton of weight. She got through that and things seemed to be fine. Then about the time the pandemic started she started getting more and more GI issues and was eventually diagnosed formally with Celiac last year., We started getting a handle on that when her gall bladder freaked out last Thanksgiving and had to be removed. No stones but severely necrotic. Since then, it's been a battle to keep on weight and stay above 100 pounds (she's 5'3"), although we are starting to get there. She started getting IVIG infusions, but then had anotherr episode that sent her to the hospital where she was in severe pain and had a to of night sweats. So we temporarily stopped those. Blood tests show thyroid issues and liver issues. So maybe Hashimotos,, maybe autoimmune hepatitis. No one knows. But she sweats buckets every night and has regular joint pain. Plus she's a fucking anxious stress ball which doesn't help matters, but trying to solve for that in the near term is a losing battle. Doctors have come back and said restart IVIG infusions. Those fucking wipe her out for 2 days, but apparently benefits come after months. In any event, thyroid scan tomorrow and hopefully that will show something (or not). It's a fucking beating for her, though, not knowing and sweating through 3 sets of clothes every night.
