  1. This show is good. It isn’t as “fun” as the Uber show, Super Pumped, which is stylized in a Big Short kind of way and backed by the Rounders creators. But it does a pretty good job of showing the chain of events that leads driven people to commit fraud, and is more than a dramatized wikipedia (which Super Pumped is, even though I am enjoying it - mostly because Coach Taylor is totally pulling off Bill Gurley).
  2. I can appreciate Maggie still getting in the tight, tailored, jeans in a zombie holocaust when some baggy cargo pants might be more functional. Shows she cares about me.
  3. He’s angling for his tell all tv show/book. He’s going to get primaried and he knows it.
  4. Seems like LeClerc did no favors to his teammate and it let Verstappen get by Sainz.
  5. Was awesome to see a US pop culture take on Zwarte Pete. My future ex-Wife and I were in Amsterdam in November 2003 and we walk smack dab into a Dutch Christmas parade with a bunch of people dressed as elves in black face. It was fucking jarring in 2003 and was just a shoulder shrug tradition there. It’s starting to finally get shut down as it should, but loved the “guy fell down the chimney” excuse. The Zwarte Petes are SinterKlaus’ Moor slaves that kidnap the naughty children in a bag and take them back to Spain. It’s fucking racist.
  6. So I had a work dinner last night. I usually do movie night with the kids (4 and 8 ) on Friday and told the wife to put this on and watch with them - they saw the trailer and were excited about it. I come home to a haranguing because “I didn’t research whether it was appropriate.” My answer was “It’s Pixar”. My daughter was upset by the bullying and I guess wife was worried the 4 year old would be scarred by the period allegories. I don’t know. I suggested she had the authority to put something else on, but my kids threw me under the bus by saying I insisted they watch it. 🙄 So - yeah - maybe not the best Pixar movie for the 8 and under set, I guess.
  7. Enjoying it thus far even if it is just dramatized Wikipedia. Jester got fat.
  8. "The Russian hopes to return to F1 in future, citing the FIA's ruling that Russian or Belarusian drivers can compete under a neutral flag, although he said he has no desire to do so with the Haas team." Hahahahahaha!!
  9. I love how Reilly as Buss is just doing the Jim from the office look (either to the camera or to Magic) at all of these racist old white guys being old racist white guys. I forgot Jack Kent Cooke owned the Lakers. Some people are still alive. I don't believe they play Jerry West that over the top if he wasn't that over the top or close. But I guess I only know him from latter day Lakers into his Memphis days, so don't have any recollection of him being insane.

Was at the game last night. Had a blast - Was sitting right at 18 yard box on side of Mota's free kick at end of half. You could tell that he and Higuain were hatching something. Almost paid off. Great save by Stuv. - Yedlin is a beast. I love the guy when he plays for US, but he was a bit annoying last nightwith the gamesmanship. Still, dude is built like a tank and was cool to see him in person. - Watched a lot of Keller in first half since he was right in front of me. He seems really good notwithstanding the foul on Higuain. Walker Zimmerman parallels? - Man, does Pochettino's run last year look even worse now. What a disaster of a designated player signing. - Do they have a stat for rolling around after a tackle then getting up and returning to the game? If so, Cecilio would lead the league I'm pretty sure. Wish he'd cut that shit out. - I really like Kolmanic
  11. Ukraine was corrupt as hell up until Maida in 2014. Manafort and his ilk helped make it happen hand in hand with Putin. After Yanukovych's ouster, though, and the May elections, when the Ukraine was no longer a puppet for Putin, things have gotten a lot better.
  12. Then watch part one of "Agents of Chaos" right after that. I believe it's on HBOMax to see why there are so many traitors surrounding Trump.
  13. I get I am behind, but that Ukrainian UN ambassador gives zero fucks. I am sure Putin will take that as a threat or whatever, but that was fucking G.
  14. I heard on BBC that for now, BP is simply resigning the board seat and marking value of the shares to zero for their own financials, not taking part in dividends, etc. They aren't going to technically sell off the shares. They are just going to forgo any pecuniary benefit to them until they can figure out how to handle. Shell doing something similar in Gazprom JV - writing down the value to zero for now, or something to that effect,
  15. Yeah. That wasn’t good. Not hating on those that did like it, but it was really, really flawed. Taylor could have used some notes on this one.
  16. Quick PSA - Winter on Fire. Took a minute to find. But thanks for sending me that way. Definitely prescient.
  17. Weekend update seemed super short. Broadway skit was weakest so far, but puddle of uncertain origin was funny.
  18. I think what he is saying is “look at these awesome fascists! Socialists, don’t you want to be part of this FUPA-punching good time? “ it’s an invitation.
  19. I read or heard the showrunners saying that season 1 they were trying to keep a sense of realism to it (until that last scene)... kids wore clothes that weren't designer, things were relatively grounded, etc. while still showing extreme situations. But this year, they just decided to shed any semblance of realism. So you have to watch this show as kind of a fantastical realism type of a program where the hardest dude in the show is a 12 year old with a face tattoo, the girls dress like they are going to a Vegas club at school, and the school is cool with modern day Spring Awakenings as the school play. But if you just want this to be NC-17 version of My So Called Life and find yourself saying "that would never be allowed in high school", then yeah, the insisting upon itself and affectations will be annoying.
  20. Enjoying both Severance and Suspicion. I am afraid the suspicion payoff is going to be some kind of Manchurian Candidate thing which I am not thrilled by. But enjoying the show thus far. I like how Severance has explained the inanity of its premise to make it seem quasi-plausible, so long as the "outie" has bought into it. Like HG said, it's like black mirror, particularly the John Hamm episode where they capture your personality virtually to be your own personal "Alexa" by torturing it into submission. Interesting ethical dilemma. I need to go back and watch Black Christmas.
  21. It's the Lissons if only based on fact that they brought them up again this episode re: Eli letting Jesse have the money and the "spolier" (I hesitate to call it that) up above. I guess it could be Gideon, but the wife wouldn't make much sense unless she's in on it with the Lissons because the first hit was meant for Eli and Jesse and wife stole the bus. Continuity is not hugely important, though, so we shall see.
  22. I remember going to Dan and Nicks before or after Astros games in the ‘80s with my dad. The <10 year old me remembers it being a cool place where they had the Houston athlete shoe print walk of fame and I could stand in Ralph’s size 30s or whatever. Fuck Dan Patrick for ruining those memories.
