  1. I am in the minority here, I guess, but I hope he Curt Flood’s this shit with a better outcome for him than Curt Flood got. About time someone went scorched earth on this.
  2. I’ve definitely made the face Nate makes when Maddie starts going crazy on him in the hot tub. “Should I say something? Oh no. It just made it worse. I’ll just sit silently. No. That’s not working either. “ it was like the Rosie Perez get me water scene from White Men Can’t Jump. But more uncomfortable. if this show wasn’t so Uber serious that could have been high comedy. They should reshoot that scene with aJeff Garlin and Susie Essman with Larry David playing the role of Cassie.

Thank god for Taylor Sheridan shows I guess. I have a subscription.
  4. Through episode 7. The show is great but Juliette Lewis is a beating. People need to stop casting her in shit where she cries or yells. The girl that plays young version is excellent but Lewis just sucks.
  5. Harcourt is in a later stage American Pie straight to video sequel. Easy enough to find.
  6. Yes. Season 2 and 3 are less grim, weirder and just better. I said this on the Watchmen thread - Lindelof has mastered taking source material and extending on it to make it even better. While Station Eleven creator, a Leftovers alum, didn’t extend the source material, the changes and additions and other choices made created a better show than if it followed the book.
  7. I have a hunch he’s also going to find his son.
  8. Nate hits a sweet spot because you can watch him with your kids. I like the Jeselniks and Mulaneys of the world but what Nate is pulling off is pretty unique. He’s just a funny dude.
  9. Tucker is Alex Jones in a bow tie at this point. The court documents say so.
  10. The soundtrack for this show is the John Cena of soundtracks. It's absolutely horrible and awesome and hilarious all at the same time. Shazam some of the songs during the show. With the occasional exception of a Faster Pussycat here and there, it's all barely known/unknown hair metal bands from the 2010s.
  11. I am finding Peacemaker hilarious. It's like Deadpool if Deadpool were mostly incompetent. Vigilante is some kind of Deadpool/Kick Ass rip off, though. Not digging him yet. Three points: - The opening credits are legendary. I won't skip credits ever. - The blonde I'd never seen before, I thought. Then looked her up and she is in one of those later stage American Pie direct to video sequels. Feel free to find the right scene..... - I am finding the music hilarious. Each awful wannabe hair metal song that none of us have ever heard comes on, and it's like "What fresh hell is this?" I presumed they made the songs up for the show, but when you Shazam it, for the most part they are '80s hair metal rip offs that have come out in the last decade. It's for real. It's horrible. And it's perfect for this show.
  12. Yeah - the only way this works for multiple seasons is to do it like Fargo. Which could be interesting. What happened in LA, Austin, Paris, etc. have some tangential connections from one season to the next.
  13. So Alex is the baby of the mom that passes away in episode 9 who knew Tyler. That’s canon, apparently. Wonder how she gets to the Traveling Symphony. David Cross’ wife in Pingtree and the doctor looked alike but not the same character.
  14. https://youtu.be/TcT4Pi0Zixo (sorry - this is excursions. Will imbed later)
  15. Great ending. I don't *think* there is an intent to do a season 2, but who knows. Somerville was part of the leftovers which was solid but grim as hell when covering the source material, then flourished when it went beyond the source material. So there is precedent from this show runner to being able to pull it off. And frankly, while I didn't read the book, some of the detours from the book (treatment of Tyler character, most of episode 9) were successes in the show.
  16. Separately, was listening to The Watch podcast and they made an observation I haven't thought of.... Clark is trying to tell kids about a Karaoke machine and how they were awesome or whatever, and the kids in the class are like "Fuck that, when does the Shakespeare start?" The other observation - Kirsten sees Station 11 as genius work of fiction. Tyler sees it as almost folklore. I can't tell what episode 10 is going to be because there is so much on the table. It could be intertwining Tyler's and Kirsten's time alone, but that leaves very little time for the Year 20 resolution. Do we see Year 20 Jeevan in this episode? He is going on a "house call" at end of episode. I wonder if that is for Tank Girl? I kind of like the idea of not seeing him again with episode 9 being the closure.
  17. And yeah, the SWAT team leader is a great character but also a special kind of evil dude - Vic Mackey (not Surly’s) in training. Hope he gets more run next season.
  18. Renner was fantastic in this. I don't know how I feel about a big bad on the loose in this show, though. It takes things away from what the core premise is. I don't want it to end up like a mission centric video game like Sons of Anarchy did after season 3 or Peaky Blinders can be at times. I prefer the Michael Clayton for prison politics side of it. Hopefully Sheridan can maintain that.
  19. Man, that scene where Nate is drunk and egging on McKay about Cassie was fucking spot on closeted jock asshole behavior. There was a dude like that in our house on college. It was a fucking beating listening to him when he got drunk.
  20. Dude. Maybe help that RT out. Or screen to that side or something. Geez.
  21. Never seen a situation in NFL where a tie is a loser for both teams in a scenario like this. Wild.
