  1. Was a little disappointed in episode 8. Haven’t seen 9. Will watch tonight.
  2. Episode 3 is the best episode by a bit in my opinion followed by 7. But Tribe’s Excursions in episode 7 is the most joyous moment in television in a long long time.
  3. I imagine the next episode is what happened at the airport. Then one of the episodes has to get into what happened to Jeevan and/or Kirsten's time on her own. I presume that could be baked into the finale, leaving one Year 20 episode like episodes 2, 4, and 6 and the airport --> museum backstory for episode 8 and 9. Although I won't be surprised if episode 8 tries to cover off both. Whether Miranda shows up again or not will be interesting.
  4. If you want to piss an Aggie off, just tell them that their football program is a less successful version of Michigan St. Same land grant, secondary rival to superior in state school. More cheating, less glory.
  5. Chuck/Shazam seemed miscast and I hope they limited the football based on what I saw of him throwing the ball in the trailer. I’ve met Zac Levi. Super nice guy. And very tall (probably taller than Kurt). But would never confuse him for a football player. Also hard for me to buy him playing it completely straight-laced/serious based on his better past roles. But maybe he pulled it off.
  6. So the German dude with the long hair that was with Elizabeth that left the airport is same dude that is the Museum of Civilization emissary, right? He said he “came back” at some point. Seems like central theme is a fight between those holding on to the past and “control” vs those that want to forget the past and strike out on their own, but I haven’t read books.
  7. Because then that final punch line doesn’t hit as well.
  8. And there have been two laugh out loud moments that got me... 1. David Cross' character suggesting that they score their Hamlet production to Tubthumper. 2. The guy in the Homeland Security jacket telling a very "The Dude"-looking Clark to stay out of his beach community.
  9. Yeah... For instance, the one brief cutaway scene of Clark in episode 1 before he left to fly to Chicago was right after he called Miranda in episode 3. Didn't catch that the first time.
  10. I’ll start a thread to see if it can get traction because this show has been stunning. It’s unlike any post-apocalyptic/dystopian show I’ve ever seen. First episode is a little too close to home in parts with current pandemic but the book was written 8 or 9 years ago Show creator is a Leftovers alum and there are Lindelof type storytelling devices that recall Lost and the Watchmen that just work. It’s most like Leftovers season 2 in tone though. There is a reveal in Episode 5 that becomes obvious about halfway through, but is still well earned and well done in every way This show can surprise without hiding the ball, being shocking or being dishonest with audience. Watch it.
  11. I was thinking “why is Larry talking like Trump?” Then the toilet flushes. Vindman!!!! Just perfect.
  12. Look, there will never be another Dr Strangelove, but this was the closest thing we’ve ever fucking seen. Fantastic movie.
  13. This conversation is dumb. Those that want to burn Casey can get fucked. Casey is light years better than Card and we were better when Casey played than Card. Sark blew it in the first place starting Card (and I am otherwise a Sark apologist). Casey has graduated, which given the Sark yo-yo almost guaranteed his transfer even without Ewers. We brought in Ewers who is all world and crossing my fingers, knocking on wood, etc. isn't the second coming Garrett Gilbert or Tate Martell, because frankly, one never knows. But given pedigree, Ewers will start for us next year, Casey knows that, and so does Hudson. The job is already won, and hopefully, after spring, deservedly so. I hope Casey transfers somewhere and kills it next year. I liked the dude the same way I liked David Ash. I'm just glad that with Ewers and Maalik, I likely don't have to sit through another Hudson Card game. And the LT Mafia can EABOD. Dude is a homeless man's Mitch Trubisky. I am sure he is a nice kid, but that was a bad take by UT from jump.
  14. I loved it, actually. The friends break up and he has this great life. They stick together and he is a homeless asshole. It's dark and it was unexpected. And it essentially means that reformed, Jewish Cartman was right (as it pertains to Cartman's future). He should have wasted kid Kyle.
  15. Station 11 is pretty good. Leftovers vibes.
  16. This show slams. Nick Hoult deserves all the Emmys
  17. Correct. Tom told us he was going to push his wife off a cliff earlier this season and make Greg his wife. I think, if it's not too dry, the first part of the season 4 will be getting this thing approved (or not), the BigTech/Antitrust angle vis a vis Youth Hitler presidential candidate and the VP, plus the board and stockholder dynamics and approval. They've written themselves into a corner a bit, and while they are smart enough to get out of it. Perhaps an episode at the convention? Shiv goes back into politics and backs the moderate candidate that wants to put her dad in jail?
  18. Here is the thing…. Logan is right. And my opinion is he wasn’t intending to fuck his kids over outside of their legacy in the continuing company (they were going to make a shitload in cash and stock). They were too blind to see this is the right deal because they were convinced Logan was fucking them over. He was freezing them out knowing they’d fuck up the negotiation, and he was right.
  19. Nero/Sporus for the win, although not how I expected. Dagger. Team Logan.
  20. Everyone sucks in this show other than maybe Rava. That’s the point. So yeah, I’m gonna root for folks, or why else watch? But given everyone sucks as a human being, rooting interest will be dynamic from episode to episode. I cheered for Ken at end of last season. This season has reminded us that he is unworthy and he’s nothing but a peacock. I thought Roman slapped last night (to steal Ken’s buddy’s phrase). He got picked on relentlessly by his older siblings growing up and got over on both of them. Spying on Ken’s kids is shitty but, again everyone sucks. In any event, I am certain Roman’s win last night will be pyrrhic and quickly turn into an “L”. Looking forward to seeing how
  21. Meant to add…. comfrey can get it despite that shitty name.
  22. I mean, we rooted for Tony Soprano and Stringer Bell. If end of season two wasn’t a contingent “Fuck Yeah” for Kendall, we aren’t watching the same show. They brought him back from that. But all that goodwill is gone (most of it after episode 1 this season). Roman isn’t much better as a person but he’s self-aware.
  23. So I don’t think they bring Kendall back from that episode as someone to root for. Team Roman, Gerrie, Greg and Tom from here on out. Although that’s probably pretty popular and intentional.
  24. Liked it. Feel like the Track Suit Mafia is stealing liberally from the Chechens on Barry, though.
