  1. Will Howard runs like a fat kid thinks athletic kids run.
  2. I hope Arch proves this motherfucker wrong and Texas just runs the fucking table next season, averaging 103-0 because the kicker's leg was so tired he only went 13/15 on PATs each game while also setting a record for most PATs in a season, with Arch winning the first of two Heismans and two national championships before becoming the #1 pick in the 2028 draft. But this prediction is okay, I guess.
  3. Is this the thread where we brag about our 40 times? Look...I'm not saying I could throw it over the mountains. I'm just saying the mountains were scared. That's all.
  4. Burke wasn't the starter, but he got enough playing time that he could have been.
  5. Why would he? His offer list wasn't exactly eye-popping and he gets to learn from Sarkisian. If Manning is gone in two, Owens has potentially four years in the system and maybe two years of eligibility left when Dia Bell arrives on campus (assuming he doesn't change his mind). If Dia is Him, Trey can hit the portal then while having enjoyed everything Texas has to offer in the interim two years.
  6. Hello. You have converted me to the Owens Should Starts Camp. My time as a Stanning is over.
  7. It's looking like it. Top 5 will probably be: Ward Sanders Milroe/Ewers/Dart A lot of the noise is there aren't any QBs worth a 1st round pick, but that ignores the fact that teams like to draft QBs early. At least 3 of those will go in the first round, and all 5 will be gone by the end of the 2nd round. I'd like to see Ewers heal up, do well at the combine and the on-campus workout, and get drafted in the bottom of the 1st round or top of the 2nd. Ten more pounds would be good for him and at least a year of riding the bench would be, too.
  8. Do we move our pitchforks over to the Arch Being Arch thread or is there a grace period?
  9. I don't really see this kid who grew up a Longhorn, originally committed to Texas, left a perennial contender to transfer to a dumpster fire program with a newly-hired alcoholic head coach who crashed and burned at USC, and stayed an extra year despite all the hate from fans because he loves The University and wanted to win a national championship before he left when he would have been a late 3rd-rounder at worst...as transferring and not declaring for the draft in one of the weakest QB drafts in recent history with Drew Allar and Carson Beck electing to return to college. I don't like the kid's politics or his floaty deep passes this season or his dubious choice(s) in NIL--Jeff fucking Davis? So Harvey Weinstein and Mel Gibson didn't offer?--but transferring would be a stupidity of an order of magnitude greater than the other dumb shit.
  10. Okay, cool. I mean, "Nitters" was so fucking stupid you can hardly fault me for not being 100% on what would otherwise seem to be an obvious connection.
  11. I'm sorry. I've never heard of the guy.
  12. No kidding. That's why my post on the last page was 'it is what it is and this is as good as we can hope for.'
  13. I tend to think it's just because We're Texas. No one's paying every crew to pocket calls for Texas all year long and the NCAA isn't intervening against one of its most valuable commodities. That's absurd and someone would leak it eventually, intentionally or negligently. It's too big of a story to not have someone inform. We'll see...but I doubt it and lean towards We're Texas. How many 1st and 20s would there have been if the refs threw flags for even 10% of the holding committed against T'Vondre Sweat and Byron Murphy? How many automatic first downs would the Texas O have had if the refs threw flags for even 10% of the DPIs against Worthy and Mitchell? Those seem to be subconscious underdog favoritism, like this guy is going to have a 10-year NFL career and that guy is going to be selling used Hyundais on the side of 114 in Levelland.
  14. Brother in Christ, please fuck your own face with a chainsaw.
  15. How has that worked out for you? Does it make the smooth dicking more agreeable?
  16. Well that's where the bad man touched me, alright?
  17. Is it? I thought that was an indicator that I'm bottom bitch on the totem pole.
  18. I mean, we're well beyond the point of ever thinking any officiating crew is going to give Texas a fair game. We were 108th or something in penalties for. No targeting on Bond. No holding calls on ASU's OL. No OL downfield call or OL holding call on the scrambling 2PC attempt. No negating Skattebo's TD when he was pulled three yards into the EZ by the OT. DPI on Taaffe instead of OPI on Skattebo for elbowing Taaffe to get separation. No DPI against Wingo on at least two plays where the DB was pulling his jersey right in front of the LJ. It's been that way since Chuck Strong at least. No PF late-hit call when Ewers was on the ground and got hit three times (shades of the Michigan game when he kneeled it and got smashed). This is what Texas is up against.
  19. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I disagree that asking the best D in the country to stop an offense with an upper-tier RB and a scramble-capable QB but without its top receiver was entirely too much. What was entirely too much was expecting the OL to try to block small, quick DL for slow-developing plays with Ewers's back to the defense half the time and without utilizing the TE until the end of the game while trying to throw deep out of the same formations we always throw deep out of. When Auburn missed that first FG, you could see Ewers give Sark a look that I think has more to do with Sark's play-calling than Auburn missing. If you think about it, Ewers's game-saving heroics and some of the bigger plays in previous games have been Ewers recognizing something in the D, checking out of Sark's play call, and adjusting the blockers. I know Sark is an offensive genius and QB whisperer, but that look on Ewers's face was telling.
  20. You're not the only one brother. My direct report group is me, two Pork grads, an Ole Miss grad, and a Georgia grad, and my boss's boss is a Bama grad. Thankfully, no aggy and my boss is a Texas grad. They've been talking shit for three years and we've been giving it back to them the last two weeks. It's cathartic.
  21. @chainsaw it makes me sad for you having to suffer from the incurable condition of being an insufferable bitch.
