  1. So I was under the impression virtually all of Canada was pretty conservative and in favor of American annexation. If you’ve seen the Nelk Boys, they’re an extremely popular group of gen z influencers that are hardcore trump supporters. But after getting called out today I did some digging, and it looks like much of Canada wouldn’t be as welcoming to a US takeover as you would think. It’s hard to imagine it coming to fruition now
  2. An easy 75% would welcome us if we invaded and took over. I say we do it.
  3. Too me it’s stupider to think an NBA front office agreed to ship off their superstar without there being some deeper motives.
  4. I don’t follow the NBA really. I knew Luka was really good. But it sounds like he’s fat and probably won’t play this season? How is this trade a bad deal?
  5. So the Carribean Series has always been that the team that wins their respective winter league represents that country in the tournament. For some reason a team from Japan is playing in the tournament for the first time ever this year.
  6. Always had a complex relationship with my dad. My parents divorced young, and he was in and out growing up, was not really affectionate much, had problems keeping jobs, and he suffered and still struggles with some mental health issues. He still would do things with us and for us sometimes, and my mom always told us he was a good man but he just didn’t know how to love. He was definitely very reclusive and would isolate himself a lot. He was a child of Mexican immigrants, grew up a migrant farm worker, and was a standout athlete in HS in the RGV. I got my love of UT and sports in general from him, especially baseball. He definitely instilled a pride in our heritage that I appreciate now as an adult. One thing I will never ever forget is my sophomore year of college. He happened to be living not too far from me in a pretty shitty apartment. No one I knew liked college football much, so every Saturday morning I would drive over to his place and watch college football with him. Literally all day long. Didn’t matter if it was Northeast Vermont State vs Cleveland Tech. We would watch it. If UT was playing a night game I would usually leave after. I can vividly remember getting ready to go once and him saying “there’s some good PAC 12 games about to start I think”. So I stayed and watched. I think he just didn’t want me to go. He lives far from me now and I don’t see him a lot, but when I remember those saturdays I just want to cry.
  7. Good to know someone could flash your wife/daughter/mom and you wouldn’t be upset about it or think the flasher did anything wrong.
  8. Rumors about it for years, and then an actual article comes out about it after his worst season ever. Kind of feels like the Ravens kept it in their back pocket
  9. Where does it say that anyone is suing him? There were rumors online 5 years ago that he was a weirdo in massage parlors. Seems the newspaper recently got another tip and did some digging and several massage therapists came forward saying yeah he acted inappropriately.
  10. Marty Smith is a terrible interviewer. Holy shit

    Ichiro

Yeah but it would’ve been so much better if he went up to each at-bat trying to draw a walk instead. That’s so much more fun to watch /surly
  12. What the fuck am I giving out handjobs for then?
  13. See like all 6 or 7 of the immediate posts above yours.
  14. Me & spanky used to be 2 of the 3 Yankee posters on the baseball board. The other guy barely posted, and then spanky left me to fight alone in the trenches all these years, battling Astro fans that had a quarter of my IQ points. Fuck him.
  15. Mcconaughey Ditka commercial seems like it could be funny
  16. I’ve never been but I hear India Palace on Fredericksburg is the best in SA for that kind of food. My coworkers wife is Iranian and they love it.
  17. I’ll just say this sentence says a lot about you, and how you view non-white people in this country.
  18. New article came out saying Safeco or whatever suppressed offense by 11%, greater than Coors 10% inflation rate. But it turns out “ballpark factor” probably isn’t a real thing and is just heavily swayed by the offensive quality of the home team:
  19. “No me va a pasar”
  20. End crashing? Pull it. Then read the linebacker to keep or pitch it. Insanely complex.
  21. Because Street played on a supremely talented team and did nothing but hand the ball off or pitch it. Look at his passing stats. Look at his rushing stats. They are abysmal. ANYONE on that team could’ve ran that offense to that level of effectiveness. It was new and no one knew how to stop it. It just happened to be Street. I will say I have earned more respect for Layne from this thread. He really could throw it. I have actually lost respect for Street from this thread. I had no idea how inconsequential he was to those teams until I saw the stats.
  22. Worthy has a real chance to become the first former Longhorn to ever score a Super Bowl touchdown.
  23. Colombia has backed down and agreed to accept all deportees. No tariffs will happen. Trump scores a decisive, highly publicized victory, using deportees that had already long been scheduled for deportation under Biden. This is why Trump will always win the perception war. https://www.ksat.com/news/world/2025/01/26/trump-orders-tariffs-visa-restrictions-on-colombia-over-rejection-of-deportation-flights/
  24. Maybe I was being unfair. It was my first time going to a BBQ place in SA that wasn’t Rudy’s or Blanco. I knew it was one of “the big 3” (Reese Bros, 2M) so I figured it’d be worth a shot. But yeah I’ve never liked brisket so it’s not a food genre I dive into much, I think I should just stick to pollo asado and fried chicken spots.
