Billy Bob really pulled it off, and his speech at halftime of the state game gives me the chills still.

Apparently Billy Bob ad-libbed about 80% of that speech. That whole state title game part of the movie was very well done. I didn’t really care that it differed so much from reality, as its own movie/story I loved it.

    JQJ with a torn ACL

What? WBT said he was fine and that he’ll play next week.

Evans 1st play in the game, QB Davis kept it on a read option and walked into the end zone. 28-3 North Shore, halftime.

    Don't be a bitch.  It's football.

Hopefully he can go next week.

Lol, he’ll be lucky if he can play next season. His leg got completely fucked.

No Evans no problem for North Shore. 21-3 late in the 2nd, but Cavs have the ball and are driving.

    Whoa that's familiar

Couldn't read the full article because I'm not subscribed but the 2nd paragraph calls Duncanville "one of the poorest towns" in the DFW. I'm not from the Dallas area but is that really accurate? I'm sure this "woke" author looked at the makeup of teams like Duncanville, DeSoto, Cedar Hill and assumed they're ghetto kids from rough neighborhoods. But even I know that's not what those towns are.

there is that slight chance, but he was suspended his sophomore year for grades and he did not show a lot of maturity after that as a player (or as a student out at bars) until mid way into this season so I would have to wonder how much maturity he showed in the class room since his sophomore year

but if he did manage to graduate then congratulations to him, but he is still most likely making a big mistake trying to transfer especially with his history

He wasn’t suspended for grades. He was suspended from the entire school for a year for getting arrested for criminal mischief and a sexual misconduct allegation (didn’t meet criminal criteria but the school still ruled it a student conduct violation). I’m surprised he returned at all. Maybe a change of scenery will do him some good.

So you're mad at the law enforcement officers that lynched your ancestor, who murdered people?

*Allegedly murdered someone. Yes. Also not 100% sure if it was actual ancestor of mine or just someone close to my family. Regardless, fuck the rangers. Never wanted to root for the baseball team anyway, they suck.

And I don’t like the Yankees because a bunch of people called Yankees killed a lot of Americans 150 years ago.

That’s a funny way of saying “I don’t like the Yankees because I’m jealous of their success”.

His landis moment, gtfo. He had no spine when the red sox and yankees were caught. Cant hammer 1 franchise when others have been caught.

I like how Astros fans try and act like what the Astros were doing is the exact same as what other teams have been caught doing.

I missed this. What was the significance of the horseshoe

First episode, first scene we meet Veidt. His servants give him a cake and a horseshoe to cut the cake with. Veidt gets frustrated & says “this is a horseshoe, not a knife”. It was the first hint that something was off with his servants, in addition to just being super random.

  10. I wish I had lied and said I was born & raised in the Bronx. Then maybe you nancies could stfu about all my posts. Doesn’t matter, it’s not going to make watching Cole hoist the 2020 WS trophy any less sweet. I’m as big or bigger of a Yankee fan than any New Yorker.

Anytime I see a mention of the Voks I am pos-repping. The Voks upset of Lincoln in the state-semis in 2001 has to be among the three greatest upsets in Texas HS basketball history. Their freaking center, the only guy on the team who was over 6 ft, was 6'3 175. He was tasked with guarding a Charmin soft Chris Bosh and he did that.

That might’ve been Orlando Mendez-Valdez, went on to play for WKU. Lanier basketball is a West side of SA institution. Fallen on rough times since their coach Rudy Bernal left, but man the whole community used to get behind those teams. SAISD has a very underrated basketball tradition, they usually have a couple teams make a playoff run every year. Just a bunch of undersized, street tough kids playing relentless basketball. /tangent

He's 38 at the end of that contract

The Yankees FO is finally understanding that their window to win is right now. If he's complete dead money the last 5 or 6 years of that deal, he's worth every penny if he brings another title to NYC. 10 entire seasons without a world series title is unacceptable for the Yankees, and it's been a living hell for Yankees fans. Glad to see the front office is committing to putting a team with an actual chance of winning it all on the field.

Hausman/Babcock/UTSA Blvd would be a fucking nightmare on gamedays.  Fuck that.

E: Do they still have those buses to take the students downtown for games?  I remember seeing them when I went to that very first game, but haven't been to any more.

Hausman road needs to be a 12 lane highway in each direction. It's the worst road on earth from 7-9 am and 5-6pm.

1 - Pretty dumb to lump the entire city's fans together.

2 - Don't believe you about the Cibolo-Westlake story.  At least not the implications that the injury was purposeful and the cheers were for the injury.

This. I was actually in the stands when those Cedar Park fans chanted racial slurs and taunts at the San Antonio Lanier basketball team in the playoffs a few years back. That doesn’t mean all Austin fans are racist assholes.

    They did, yes.

Also the Rangers' historical reputation has been becoming more heavily scrutinized in recent years.  Without taking a dump on the entire legacy of the Texas Rangers they also have been involved in some border atrocities and light ethnic cleansing

Mexican-Americans in South Texas have known this since forever. There’s a couple famous corridos about some of the crimes the rangers committed.

Csb: According to family legend I had a great great great granduncle that was (allegedly) a bit of a murderous outlaw in the Laredo region back in the day, and he got arrested and lynched some Rangers. A big reason why I’ll be never root for the baseball team.

Here's a theory I've had for some time.  Most of Trump's corrupt behavior is of a TYPE that many or most politicians engage in.  It is of a greater MAGNITUDE and with more brazenness than we have ever seen before.  As I believe I have said, he turns it up to 11 and writes it large in purple crayon.  Combine it with his blithering idiocy, along with that of his aides and appointees, and I'm surprised he hasn't publicly committed more easily proven serious crimes than we have seen to date.

Some seem to want to excuse Trump's behavior as "everyone does it, so what."

I have come around to the view that persecuting/prosecuting Trump may or can be the end of tolerance for this TYPE of behavior from our politicians, without regard to the MAGNITUDE of it.

I confuse myself with my optimism sometimes, though.

I completely agree with this. I thought this was all a huge waste of time, and still believe there’s a 0% chance that he’ll get impeached. I also think he’s a lock to get re-elected. But I bet he and other politicians will probably think twice before engaging in these kind of activities again. Even though he’ll escape punishment there’s no questioning that this has been a massive pain in the ass for him.

Have I mentioned that he's the only thing good about DCTF?  I'm sure Greg Tepper will be along soon with a fucking video of him just sitting there at a desk making predictions and acting like an assclown.

He’s always shown the valley a lot of love, seems to go to a handful of games down there every year. I also learned he was one of the original posters on 956 sports forum like 10 years ago, and still posts there sporadically. The guy just loves HSFB.

So (Austin) Westlake is going to play (Katy) Taylor

And your making the decision on where to play this game....so you get a map of Texas out and look at it......and you decide on McLane Stadium in (Waco)

    WTF??

Well what would be a neutral site game for those teams? The Oakridge Smokehouse parking lot in Schulenberg?
