  1. Well, the argument isn't that he waived it; rather, that he admitted that he wasn't serving in a legal capacity for Trump in the first place.
  2. Yeah. I mean, if a group of concerned intelligence folks were trying to figure out how to expose Trump's treachery, this is how you would do it, right? Pick one guy to be the whistleblower and have him compile the info he heard from the others into a single protected whistleblower complaint that has to go to Congress. The whole second-hand thing is actually kind of weird unless you view it this way, in which case it suddenly makes perfect sense. The sources are in on the filing. And that's why Trump is now threatening the sources, too, who wouldn't be doing anything wrong by discussing this info within the office alone. Baer said that he's seen whistleblower complaints and that this one looks like nothing he's ever seen before. He said it looks like more like an indictment with input from several people.
  3. Wow, former CIA dude Bob Baer on CNN with some interesting analysis. He thinks the whistleblower complaint is too well-written and too full of hard-to-obtain info to be just one guy. He thinks this is a "palace coup" by people who know some shit and are ready to take Trump down, and that Trump knows it.
  4. I first thought this was parody, but I think it's real
  5. And I think the scandal was instrumental in getting W elected. I remember him running on "restoring honor and integrity to the White House." The message was that he was a decent family man who we needed to counteract the tawdry Clinton sex scandals. Gore was so spooked that, despite Clinton's popularity, he kept him at arm's length during the campaign. In an election decided by 537 votes, I think the impeachment was enough to tank what should have been an easy win for the VP of a popular incumbent.
  6. No, the Mueller report concluded specifically that they wanted Trump to win. If their ultimate goal was to sow discord, they thought that would best happen by helping elect Trump. But there's also evidence that they thought Trump would help with the sanctions Obama had put on them, and that's certainly what Flynn was suggesting to them, which gives another reason for their preference. But the larger issue was not that Russia wanted Trump to win, but that Trump sought and welcomed their help, and then obstructed the investigation into that.
  7. Hell, the whistleblower himself is probably there right now, saying "I wonder who it is" like everyone else.
  8. Haha, Trump lying about Biden live, and CNN puts up a fact check window next to his face.
  9. None of them, actually. The whistleblower heard it second-hand from several of the people who listened in, who knew it was wrong but wouldn’t themselves come forward.
  10. And that's almost certainly because it's what Putin told him.
  11. Yeah I guess. Like, I didn't even get the sense Maguire was trying to protect the president. I got the sense he just wanted to stay out of it and keep his job. And that his justification was "I fulfilled my obligations, that's all I'm required to do." (Which isn't even true). It's just sad.
  12. Then he backtracked and said he wanted to make clear that he wasn't giving an opinion one way or the other. He just wouldn't take a stand on election interference, and even claimed the complaint didn't involve election interference, which is a total lie. I just don't get it. He was willing to sacrifice his life for his country, but not his job.
  13. It's shocking that someone like Maguire can't step up for the country and say that credible allegations like these should be investigated. He can make clear all he wants that they are just allegations, but to dissemble in this context is just pathetic.
  14. A lot of smiling and giggling in general from Maguire, in inappropriate contexts. I guess he does it when he's nervous? Not a good look.
  15. Yeah, the little partner-in-crime smile he gave him was embarrassing.
  16. After all that, he admits he did go to the White House first. He won't answer easy direct questions. What a disgrace this guy is. Stop trying to cover and just answer honestly.
  17. Maguire is bending over backwards to avoid answering direct questions. This is embarrassing.
  18. Nunes is done, Maguire is giving his opening statement now.
  19. These military types seem to think that they are still in the military when holding civilian office. No wonder Trump appoints so many of them. They follow his orders like they're still in the military chain of command.
  20. Why is Maguire giving his life story? Get on with it man.
