  1. Because Nancy Pelosi didn't tell them to go home to the countries they came from.
  2. That doesn't follow at all. First, he's not getting sole custody on that basis. At best it would be a huge chance to take. And his opinions on Trump aren't inconsistent with wanting to raise his kids in a two-parent home. He may just be doing his best and waiting for them to get older before splitting.
  3. Not really. Flake, Collins, and Murkowski can barely muster a furrowed brow. George Conway is as vocally anti-Trump as it gets, left the Republican party over it, and is the founder of group of anti-Trump conservatives. The marriage situation is weird, but they have four little children, which is more than enough reason for many people to stay married.
  4. Edit: I disagree strongly with his take on the victims of systematic institutional racism being driven by resentment towards boorish people no matter how much affirmative action they get. I mean, there's a reason he's a lifelong Republican. But everything else is great.
  5. Marianne Williamson is beating Booker and Beto in NH???
  6. I think there is a significant chunk of people who don't admit their support for him in approval numbers, but will nonetheless pull the lever for him. Look at all the Trump supporters here who rationalize their support as "I don't approve of him, but he's better than Hillary," or "I think he's terrible, but he appoints pro-life judges and that's enough to vote for him over any Dem."
  7. Trump campaign yesterday: the media is lying, Trump said they should go but then immediately come back! Trump to the press today: nah I meant they should just leave the US. Trump supporters earlier today: he could have been talking about any Dem congresswoman who are feuding with Pelosi, you're the real racist for assuming it was those four specifically! Trump later today: nah it's the four progressive women everyone thought it was.
  8. Also any time he is talking is a sure sign.
  9. What does it mean when something is unacceptable, but you continue to accept it?
  10. Lulz at the stupidity of "but how do we know which are the progressive congresswomen feuding with Pelosi that Trump was talking about???" Imagine how dumb you would have to be for that thought to cross your mind and think "I got 'em!" Although we are talking about the same moron who lavished praise on Trump for slaying the payday loan industry, when it was actually Obama's policy that Trump was in the process of destroying.
  11. Damn, Judge Berman called Epstein's attorney a hoe?
  12. I was thinking the same thing re: getting whacked, which is why I can't see any individual being so successful with extortion. Sure, he busts out the blackmail for whoever was pulling the strings on Acosta, etc., but you have to be useful to make money from criminals for so long, IMO. Maybe it's just running the sex trafficking, but money laundering through the hedge fund makes a lot of sense to me.
  13. The answer is that there are a lot of phony Christians who use their religion to justify what they want and discard its principles whenever they would conflict with what they want.
  14. Someone I read says that his operation appears, from the outside, to look just like Bernie Madoff's. Obviously Epstein isn't running a ponzi scheme for this long, plus his investors are apparently unknown, so money laundering seems the most likely explanation.
  15. No worries, Trump and Rand Paul had a great chat about it while golfing on the taxpayers' dime this weekend. They decided to blame Democrats for it.
  16. 24 hours to come up with "disavowal," but not condemnation. Pathetic. Edit: actually, even worse. I misread that he was urging others to join him in disavowing, but he isn't even doing that. Not reflective. Shameful.
  17. I just don't think you got the joke. It wasn't anything that deflected from Trump.
  18. Hell, they already did that when it was Roy Moore.
  19. As fantastical as that sounds, so is the story of how Epstein skated for all of these years, and how nobody in the financial industry can explain who his clients are or how he made his money. This is actually the most reasonable explanation for everything.
  20. I should just make this my signature at this point: "The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." - George Orwell, 1984
  21. The ones who can be captured and moved aren't really ideological in that way. For example, there is a huge chunk of folks who could have gone towards Bernie in 2016 if he were the nominee but went Trump instead. And there are even more people who would have preferred Trump to Bernie head to head but would have gone for Bernie against someone like Ted Cruz. These are people looking for answers to problems they face, but aren't inherently beholden to a party. They aren't smart enough to really be reasoned with, but they will follow strength and confidence. Trump used that to bring out the worst in them. A strong Dem can bring out better from them. And the way to be strong is to confidently push real structural solutions from the left. Moderation is why Dems are where they are.
  22. Weird how Jews overwhelmingly support the progressive movement that is "anti-Israel" and "anti-semitic," and are among the groups that oppose Trump most staunchly. I guess Jews must be pretty dumb?
