  1. That needs to be on a massive TV buy. In any sane world, saying that would be political suicide.
  2. I'd do just one. There are other things to focus on and I'm not sure what you really get from three that you can't do in one.
  3. And it demonstrates he is not some great negotiator. Kamala: Let's debate on ABC. Donald: No, I'm not sure I am going to debate you. Kamala: Chicken Donald: Instead of debating on ABC, we will now debate on Fox. Kamala: No, let's debate on ABC. Donald: Ok, let's debate on Fox, ABC, and CBS. Kamala: No, let's debate on ABC. Donald: Ok.
  4. My point is that a Trump press conference provides content that they can sell. Whether they cover it live, he will say asinine shit for which they will show clips and have lengthy panel discussions. So, Trump press conferences are good for ratings. All of the news companies have a financial interest in him doing more of them. I think it's great that they are doing fact checks. I think they are more responsible company than a FoxNews or similar. But they both have the same business model.
  5. I mean, don't people pretty much do the equivalent on gross-out reality shows for a chance to win money?
  6. Did they then turn it over to the studio where they analyzed the political ramifications of the gibberish?
  7. I bet Donald Trump thinks the notable think about King was that he could draw a big crowd. The rest of it just doesn't register with him.
  8. They just want more press conferences like this. It's good for the ratings.
  9. Not only do you have to deal with the blowback from different turnout expectations, you have to completely revamp your campaign approach. All those commercials you made and have been running with the focus on Trump vs. Biden - they are poison now. They need to switch it up to local politics.
  10. And, it takes like one tweet from Biden to completely destroy the attack. Of course, there is no reason to dissuade Trump from fixating on it at this point.
  11. Yes, to both of those. She needs a defense and citing that Trump killed a border bill (twice, if you include when he was President) is an excellent defense. Another way to look at it would be to say that Dems (Kamala voters) are roughly split down the middle on the bill, which is why it's a wedge issue. And a slight majority opposed making it easier to deport migrants and making it harder to get asylum. The other two items which weren't asked: 1. "Continue to build the wall for which funds were previously budgeted". The bill would have required Biden to continue to build the wall/fence which had previously been budgeted. That's a pretty big symbolic fuck-you to immigrant advocates. 2. "Provide legislative protections for DACA Dreamers?" or "Provide a path to citizenship for DACA Dreamers?" - That was a major Democratic goal that was completely ignored in the bill. That's the thing you trade some of the other shit for.
  12. I was the guy who said she needs to be careful with immigration, that it is a wedge issue, and therefore adopting Biden's "toughest" policy as the centerpiece of her campaign would be a mistake. It makes sense that she was addressing the issue with targeted internet ads rather than widespread TV buys. But, holy shit, a tech bro put numbers, and colors, and noticed it was an effective attack on the Dems. I take back everything I said. She should really do everything she can to make sure this wedge issue is what the election is decided on.
  13. Donating 16% of your net worth is impressive. Of course, she’d have to donate to a PAC. Individuals have a max level ($2600?) they can give to a campaign. Might be worth fact checking this one. If Biles is that onboard, I would probably ask her to join a few of the rallies - bring out the suburban moms with kids.
  14. Walz went to Chadron? Talk about humble beginnings.
  15. I'm pretty sure that Musk will still be insanely wealthy with a devoted following of techbros and angry virgins regardless of what happens to Trump.
  16. Sure, I get the intention. But Musk is also the guy who regularly gets pissy in earning calls, insults investors and causes the value of his company to drop. He is not stable. And Trump isn't great at not offending people. I think Musk is looking to build a political machine beyond Trump, beyond 2024. He wants to use Trump, but if shit starts going sideways, he'll call Trump an idiot.
  17. This has trainwreck written all over it. It's a coin flip on whether Musk turns on Trump mid-interview. It Trump's world, people are either for him or against him. Friendly outlets like FoxNews and Newsmax are going to do their best to carry him through an interview. But Musk is just a nutter with a ego that rivals Trump.
  18. I'm originally from Nebraska, but lived in Minneapolis for a year. In Nebraska, you have the snow/melt cycles. In Minny, it's like you say. So, for Nebraska winters, you stay inside and work around the cold/snow for decent weather to get outside. In Minneapolis, they just plan on playing in the snow - cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing - even weekly parades downtown in bitch ass cold weather. It seems to work for them. My boss told me to head out a couple hours early a couple of times because of the weather. (And it took 3 hours to get home.) But, if it was that bad, there was no way I was going to go in on a heavy snow day.
  19. I have no idea if Walz will help with uneducated whites. I do know that anyone who is comparing presidential cycles vs. non-presidential cycles is pretty suspect. And why aren't they including 2018, which was Walz's first election as governor?
  20. I think the lack of a primary or incumbent adds to it. The field was wide open.
