  1. I don't think the government will pursue charges against most of them. They will focus on the few folks who are well documented doing obvious crimes. Of the asshats who get rounded up, most will get probation and some prohibition on future actions. There will be a few obviously violent assholes (like the guy chasing the cop up the stairs) who will get some jail time out of it. But those aren't the real leaders. In the end, most of the middle/upper class mainstream Trumpsters will just come out if it with an interesting story. I would have preferred to see them all zip tied to a fence, then taken to jail, and then figure out how they are getting bailed out.
  2. Sure. But 98% of them think that not only are they right, but that they would be lionized by their fellow real Americans. One of the things that always amazed me about the OKC bombing was that the terrorists thought it would be the spark for a new American Revolution. They thought they would strike this blow against the corrupt, oppressive American dictatorship, and that Americans across the country would be inspired to overthrow the government. It's the same mindset.
  3. Not true. Once public opinion made it obvious that storming the Capitol was a bad idea, they started classifying the white hoods as antifa as well.
  4. A phrase I have started using when engaging Trumpsters: "You read, believe, and repeat stupid things." And, yeah, we need to start failing people in school more. We need to post grades publicly. We need to make intelligence something to be respected, and stupidity something to be mocked. Maybe it's mean, but I'm tired of stupid motherfuckers thinking they understand law, government, medicine, virology, climate change, evolution, history, etc. better than people who actually study it and have functioning brain cells. Intelligence and knowledge have been deem irrelevant, while wealth and physical beauty has been exalted. Yeah, I'm a fucking elitist because actually understanding shit is important in this world.
  5. Just a reminder of how Chicago cops react when black women pull into a strip mall parking lot. You know, people often drive their vehicles to loot a mall in the middle of the afternoon. June 3, 2020
  6. So, the claims about Antifa came from a Washington Times article that claimed the facial recognition software company XRVision had identified Antifa members in the riot. This is what Gaetz and other Republican politicians were citing. XRVision has said the story is completely false and is demanding Washington Times retract the story. They did, but you can't unring the bell. All of the right wing media that cited them wont and all of the right wing dingbats will continue to accept it as canon. Buzzfeed
  7. My intent was just to id the people who went into the building.
  8. I can’t get my head around that. Where the woman got shot, they used desks to barricade old doors that had windows. What the fuck. 19 years after 911 and that’s the plan?
  9. Especially now.
  10. This is like idiot bingo.
  11. It's a shame. The guy had "upper management" written all over him. Granted, it was a misspelled tattoo, but still.
  12. As a Canadian, if he really wanted to reenact his 19th century heritage, he should have burned down the White House.
  13. This is Ricky Tollikko, a white supremacist from Alberta Canada. http://anti-racistcanada.blogspot.com/2020/10/ricky-tollikko-and-woke-onez-rebellion.html
  14. I generally agree. If they try to find anyone who entered illegally, he should be included. But if your buddy can't distinguish someone acting as a non-credentialed journalist and someone who is trying to stop the democratic process, then there isn't anything you are going to say to convince him. He started with a conclusion and will work his way back to support it.
  15. West Virginia state lawmaker Derrick Evans cnn
  16. Happy as a sunrise? And I thought you were a drinker.
  17. That seems legit. Although he does appear to be just documenting rather than instigating. He certainly isn't dressed up like a Trumpster in some sort of false flag operation.
  18. The search for that led me to this Twitter thread, with similar intent to my post. I've got to do some work, but will get back to this later.
  19. Yet it's pretty easy to identify many of the Trumpsters already. People frequently identify their affiliations and actions on social media. Certainly many Republicans will be looking to deflect any culpability by highlighting Antifa or Dems who may have entered the Capitol. When they do, post them. If they don't find anything, I think that is a pretty good indications that there was not a significant representation from Antifa in the group. Will you still maintain your "understanding" with a dearth of evidence to support it?
  20. If there is any evidence that people who are Antifa, or even who had previously protested against Trump, were part of the group who stormed the Capitol, feel free to post it. So far, I've just seen Trumpsters and Neo-Nazis, and those circles overlap quite a bit. And considering the sheer volume of bullshit that is peddled out there, I think having evidence is important.
  21. Jenny Cudd and Eliel Rosa - Midland Texas https://www.mrt.com/news/article/Two-Midlanders-among-protesters-at-U-S-Capitol-15851202.php?fbclid=IwAR3W34lFwbH_2Ydiq0DWEFDlofHJVLPueZBC7yawZQEEGWXOydGPiaFbt64
  22. There is a claim that the guy on the left in this picture is Philly Anitfa. While there is a guy on the Philly Antifa website that looks like him, it's actually because they are doxxing neo-Nazi Jason Tankersley. (I don't know if Jason Tankersley is the guy on the left, but that's the reason Philly Antifa has a picture of him.) https://phillyantifa.org/keystone-united-exposed-day-15-jason-tankersley/?fbclid=IwAR2Sg0ScY_92aoy5cFkw_9QOBSRpi7WEH7ELMCUjIKyDXmUtn4GYq2W0A-M
  23. The intent of this thread is to post the identity of the Trump supporting rioters who invaded Capitol on January 6th. I want it to be a resource for anyone responding to the idiots who are trying to claim that it was actually Antifa dressed up as Trump supporters. With that in mind, it would be better if folks just post articles instead of commentary. (There have been several folks already identified on the big thread, but it's hard to find since that is a fast moving thread.) So, Chris Grider, Trump supporter from Central Texas: https://www.kwtx.com/2021/01/07/central-texas-man-witnessed-deadly-shooting-as-trump-supporters-stormed-us-capitol/
  24. It's not a question, it's a category of responders to a different question. So, read it like this, "of the people who answered that they believe there was enough fraud to affect the election results, how many agreed with storming the Capitol?" No. This isn't a traffic stop. This isn't a protest in a park or city street. This was a mob storming the seat of government. This was a mob that, leading up to these events, had been broadcasting their intention to execute "traitors," including many members of Congress. This was a barricaded line where the mob knew that cops* were pointing there weapons at. These were cops* who were outnumbered and had apparently did not have the capacity to detain the members of the mob. (If they did have that capacity, then not detaining them was the bigger failure.) *I use "cops", but I don't think they were there for law enforcement. They were there to protect.
