  1. 1-888-503-3526 It's very cathartic. I had some things I felt I really needed to get off my chest. I feel better now. (Remember, nothing that even hints at threatening.)
  2. I think Parler is awesome. Get all the fucking Trumpsters on one site. Let them swap their fucking casserole recipes and talk about how great segregation was.. Give them two weeks with themselves and their thoughts, and they'll tear themselves to pieces. They are the aggrieved. They are the victims. Once they are separated from their current manufactured oppressor, they will surely create a new one.
  3. I could see it playing out this way: Kushner and Melanie try to get Trump to concede. Donald gets pissed. Don Jr. tells dad that to keep pushing and...sniff...and the people will follow up. Eric agrees, although he may have just been asking for more juice; even he's not sure. Kush realizes he is between Donald and the most idiotic course of action, with Jr and Eric egging him on. That's not a good place to be. Kush must consider the will of the American people and the hierarchy of Donald's will. More rallies! More rallies for everyone! Melanie chases her third xanax with a lovely single malt and diet.
  4. So, when a progressive loses, it’s because they are a progressive. When a moderate loses, it’s because they were associated with progressives? It doesn’t matter that many moderates performed worse than many progressives, it’s still the progressives’ fault. With that kind of logic, who needs logic.
  5. Moderate Dems lost too. Of the 38 "red to blue" candidates the DCCC pushed, one has won and two are in close vote counts. 35 lost. Some of them were progressive. Some of them were moderate. In NE-1, Kate Bolz was a moderate candidate. She is currently in the Neb Unicameral, and voted for a piece of shit abortion bill. She was decently funded. She lost by 22 points, which was 7 points behind Biden. In 2018, a practically unfunded candidate with little campaign staff lost the same district by 21 points. Donna Shalala is a moderate and she lost her election despite being an incumbent. No matter how you cut it, there was a headwind against Democratic candidates. Progressive or Moderate was irrelevant. My guess is there was considerable Trumpster turnout which voted against Dems, while enough of the more traditional Republican split their tickets - Biden + Rs. There may have also been enough independent voters who went Biden+Rs.
  6. For a minute I thought you were talking about the chick who voiced Katara on the Last Airbender.
  7. Don't do it Donald. It's a trap. You've got this thing won. Don't let them scare you out of another four more years. They'll get that House back when they drag you out kicking and screaming...like a man.
  8. Now that it's over, My wife was one of the staffers for the Kara Eastman for Congress. Kara lost by 4 points Tuesday, which is disappointing because 1) she only lost by 2 points in 2018, and 2) NE-2 went Biden, by several. If Kara would have won, we were planning on moving to DC, with my wife working on Capitol Hill. That would have been fucking bad ass. Instead, she is looking for a job, and we plan to move to the Pacific NW soon. That's still going to be pretty bad ass, and less stress. Having a connection to a campaign has been fascinating. The amount of money involved is disgusting, yet they were so bare bones that the shit-dive office they rented hasn't had heat for like two weeks. Kara is great. She's a cool person. Anyone who says all politicians are evil are full of shit, and just perpetuating a low bar. There are good people who run, and it is surprisingly easy to engage with them. The people who worked on the campaign are amazing. It's cliche, but they make me hopeful for the future. The drama I saw with the local and state party was frustrating, but the campaign folks were able to isolate themselves from it. The presence of idiots only blurs the importance if you let it; they can be ignored and worked around. If you have an opportunity to get involved with a political campaign, I highly recommend it. There are good people, and when they lose it's heartbreaking. But it's worth it.
  9. Definitely a "ding dong the witch is dead" type moment right now. I even had church bells going off just now. (It's noon.)
  10. Ok. So this is stupid, for many reasons, but, as an engineer, one that I notice: the chemical hazard sign behind them. They are holding a press conference in front something that is "4" - Fire Hazard - flash point below 73F. "3" - Instability Hazard - shock and heat may detonate "2" - Health Hazard - hazardous Ok, maybe it's just normal garage supplies, but did they check? Or are they maybe stationing themselves in front of a fucking propane tank?
  11. There are plenty of retired Republicans who you might pull in. Chuck Hagel was Obama's Sec of Defense. There are likely some governors like Larry Hogan out of Maryland who seems like a pretty good guy. You can get it done without appointing people who were engaged in the bullshit of the last 4 years.
  12. Nah. For one thing, I think Romney may be more important in the Senate for Biden. In a 52/48 split, he may represent a potential defection on some reasonably moderate legislation. For another, Romney may be the Republican nominee in four years. You don't put him in your cabinet. But, most importantly, I am very concerned what Trump did with State, particularly in the Mideast. I don't trust Romney to bring light on to anything that would put the Republicans in bad light. And I'm not sure a right wing Christian is the guy to unfuck things there. (And, yes, Romney is a right-wing Christian.)
  13. I've never been to Philadelphia. I think my general impression of Philadelphia has been somewhat negative. I'm starting to love Philadelphia.
  14. I'm guessing that's what Diamond and Silk were clarifying at the bottom. It's 2020; Diamond and Silk need to provide a realistic check on stupid shit a former District Attorney/Mayor of NY/Presidential candidate tweeted.
  15. I like Pete for Secretary of Defense. Some might scoff at his McKinsey resume, but I like it for the position. Sure, there is a lot of bullshit in the consulting industry, but they keep making money for a reason. And, you know the DoD uses that type of analysis, so it would be good to have someone who knows what goes into the analysis to recognize flaws, misses, and bullshit. The DoD is one of our biggest annual costs, and if there is going to be any meaningful budget control, it will need to be approached from a business management approach. Since he was a consultant prior to his stint in the military, you know that's the lens he viewed his service. I bet he had a list of improvements to make before he ever went into politics. Unlike some SoD with military experience, his service is really recent - just six years ago. But, he is also very much a civilian. I don't see the point of having a general in the role. There are plenty of generals in the Pentagon that can provide that perspective. And, I think he is fully committed to getting us out of perpetual war, and he has the experience to challenge the obstacles to that goal that others may present. The negative is that I think it would damage his career. You can't make meaningful changes without getting a lot hate thrown your way.
  16. You know what would make it more likely? Trump going scorched earth on the GOP for not supporting his insanity. Which, unfortunately, means the GOP will probably line up behind Trump on his insanity.
  17. For what it's worth, I will still give credit to Bloomberg for attacking Trump in Florida, causing him to divert resources to Florida, even though in the end, it wasn't really in play.
  18. Depends. Are you working from home, or going into the office. If it's the latter, I recommend you wait until between meetings. If it's the former, be sure to turn off your camera.
  19. A couple of things: 1. There are other states that our still counting, but they aren't close, so nobody is paying attention. Arkansas is currently at 93%, South Carolina 94%, California at 66%, etc.. 2. The GOP blocked efforts to start counting mail-in ballots prior to polls closing. If they had counted them prior to the Tuesday, we would have known the results on Wed morning.
  20. Depends on Nevada. But, yeah, if they aren't chalking that one for Biden. Biden needs any two or PA.
  21. Puerto Rico did vote for statehood, but it was a non-binding resolution and a narrow vote.
