  1. tl;dw - He was ordered to give a POW in American custody to the Afghans and refused. The POW wasn't going to make it but since it was a POW in US custody he had an obligation to follow the Geneva Convention. He was a Lieutenant and a Captain gave the order, but the Afghan interpreter with the Captain was like "yeah yeah give him to us!" so he chewed out the interpreter so he wouldn't appear to be going after a superior. The Captain got the message. He also gives over My Lai and how that went down afterwards. In that, only the Lieutenant on the ground got real punishment and the superiors got off. Translation: Hesgeth and the Admiral will blame whomever was in charge on the scene.

  6. Yup. I mentioned this in the other thread, but Bama's loss at FSU is objectively worse than ours at Florida. If they lose the SEC title game it's going to really test the whole "won't punish conference title game losers" stuff.
  7. If there was any proof this is only about the number of losses look no further than Bama's loss at FSU. That is objectively worse than our loss at Florida but since they played a weak Wisconsin team instead of Ohio State they are getting the benefit of the doubt. That's why everyone is talking about that game against Ohio State and the loss to Florida is irrelevant to the conversation. If we'd played Purdue instead of Ohio State then we're comfortably in the field and likely host a playoff game. And before anyone goes "hurr durr they beat Georgia" remember they also lost AT HOME to Oklahoma who we clobbered at a neutral site. The bottom line is this is run by a bunch of empty suits who make up the rules as they go along in order to have as little controversy as possible. They don't want to have to answer questions about why a 3 loss SEC team is in over a 2 loss (or even 1 loss) team from another conference. It would require actually defending the resume's and they cannot be bothered with that.
  8. What happened was everyone saw that abortion of an ACC championship game and realized the two one loss teams were better.
  9. Same. I view this as a “no lose” situation. I want what’s best for Texas, but I’ll never root for Ohio State against Michigan.
  10. Agreed. They had a loss to aggy “baked into” the rankings and then we beat their ass. Now they have a problem.
  11. They literally spend the whole season preparing for the game.

Up to 10th in the league now. Only 5 points behind Stoke/Middlesbrough for the 2nd automatic promotion spot.
