  1. and I don't know about Miami, but doesn't Freeze's offense require a QB with a little bit of mobility?
  2. Texas has beaten a whole bunch of better than average teams and one good one (aggy, believe it or not). Josh Pate had FanDuel do hypothetical betting lines for his bracket and they had Penn State as a pick 'em over UGA due to their injuries. They are definitely a better team with Beck and that punter is a big loss. (He had UGA beating us a third time in the title game.)
  3. Also posted on the Maalik thread, but Duke's backup QB just entered the portal too: https://dukewire.usatoday.com/2024/12/10/transfer-portal-quarterback-duke-grayson-loftis/
  4. The backup just entered the portal: https://dukewire.usatoday.com/2024/12/10/transfer-portal-quarterback-duke-grayson-loftis/ WTF is going on there?
  5. Maalik would have started at several programs better than Duke this year. I'd bet on tampering.
  6. to answer his question: NO Losses count, too, and Ohio State has a TERRIBLE one at home.
  7. Losing the punter is a big loss. He's outstanding.
  8. Georgia releases a statement on Carson Beck and Brett Thorson after their injuries in the SEC Championship: "Georgia quarterback Carson Beck suffered an elbow injury during Saturday’s Southeastern Conference Championship game. He and his family are exploring treatment options and there is no current timetable on his return. Punter Brett Thorson sustained a knee injury to his non-kicking leg in Saturday’s contest and will require season-ending surgery."
  9. Getting over my skis here a bit but I think it depends on who Oregon ends up playing and how the models view that matchup.
  10. this. Clemson is the biggest underdog of all of the first round matchups. Both Massey and Sagarin have us as double digit favorites. ASU is in a similar boat - the assumption is that they would face Texas and also be a significant underdog. Boise also likely faces Penn State and would be an even larger underdog - only reason they are slightly better odds is because PSU isn't as big of a favorite over SMU as we are over Clemson.
