  1. How do you make the playoffs? 1. Don't lose at home to Kentucky
  2. Klatt literally did this and Alabama still came out as the choice.
  3. That 3 point loss at Oregon is what is carrying them IMHO.
  4. It's the top four - SMU, Miami, Louisville, and Clemson. The rest of the conference is complete ass. Just to put it into perspective, the rest of the conference has a total of THREE wins against Sagarin's current top 30. Actually, throw Clemson in there and the total wins is still just three. Dabo's boys haven't beaten anyone this year. They suck.
  5. There's only one way to settle this. 6-6 Playoff!
  6. That was Finebaum's take on Sunday. He's hedged a bit since then, but remember the committee will always default to "easy."
  7. It's a committee. They have to come to a consensus on what the tiebreaker should be and this is what they decided on. So he's not an idiot - he's just relaying the message that this was what they ultimately decided was the tiebreaker. Huck mentioned this but Bama is ahead of all of Miami, Ole Miss, and USCe in the vast majority of computer rankings: https://masseyratings.com/ranks?s=cf You can certainly find a few that do not - for example, game control is one of their metrics and Ole Miss is ahead of Alabama in that: https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi/_/view/resume/sort/resume.gamecontrolrank/dir/asc I think SMU gets left out if they lose. They have the same problems that Miami does - not enough quality wins. ND should be lower with that NIU loss but they are still a 1 loss team AND the computers love them. Also #3 in game control. I could have sworn that he walked this back a bit afterwards. Saying that "the games this weekend will have an impact on the teams that are not playing." Reese flipped his shit when that happened. Keep in mind that Georgia is kind of the key to all of this - their win over us and their losses to Bama and Ole Miss is doing a LOT of heavy lifting IMHO. I think there's a chance if we beat UGA that the perception of all of the SEC teams involved will change.
  8. Fuck them too! They have two home losses. Their best wins are aggy and a Clemson team that was CRUSHED by Georgia AND they lost to Alabama.
  9. Miami was given two gift wins thanks to refball and we’re supposed to feel sorry for them???
  10. And they'll drop Penn State behind Domer if Oregon wins, giving the fucking Domers the 5 seed. Nobody is getting the benefit of the doubt more than those assholes. They haven't beaten anyone worth a crap and they lost AT HOME to a 7-5 MAC team.
  11. Heck, the basketball tournament has 68 teams and everyone clutches their pearls over the "first four out" who have no shot at winning the tournament.

  13. spitballing: I don't think a 3-loss Georgia is hosting a playoff game. Won't matter because if we beat them they'll be pissed and will take someone's lunch money. Indiana is underrated and should be hosting. The committee is screwing these guys. Nobody is talking about how Penn State hasn't beaten anyone. They're going to drop like a brick if they lose to Oregon - then get to play at Texas or host Georgia. Notre Dame is overrated and should be praying the committee doesn't send Alabama to South Bend or that they move up to the 5 line after the conference championship games so they can play ASU or ISU. And those two teams are better than anyone ND has beaten. Ohio State is still really good and talented but their coach is in over his head. How he and the team handle the post-Michigan hangover will determine how far they go. Tennessee is just there.
  14. Yup. That's why applying to as many as possible is worth the time. This is an example of "80% of life is just showing up."
  15. someone mentioned it in the aftermath, but Kirby had the game circled and wanted revenge for that Sugar Bowl loss. it's clear he scouted the heck out of us.
  16. UGA first half scoring drives started at: Fumble recovered at Texas 13 (TD) Punt return to Texas 28 (FG) INT returned to Texas 34 (TD) Punt to UGA 45 (FG) Fumble recovered at Texas 30 (FG) YEEEECCCHHH For those scoring at home, that's an average starting field position of about the Texas 27 yard line. ETA - that first fumble occurred after we'd picked off Beck TWICE in UGA's first 3 drives. That game was beyond frustrating.
  17. the bottom of the big ten is really terrible.
